[-In the simulation combat training room-]
Both Maki and Lily went ahead to the -Spectators' Lounge- which was made for the observers to watch.
Since Alliyah signed up to participate for the training session, some of the current observers called for others regarding the unusual situation in the simulation room.
Word traveled fast as they expected.
Even other instructors became curious at the situation on the training session.
For the first time, the entire -Spectators' Lounge- became fully occupied.
Other instructors had to lock the door for the entrance of the simulation room and limit the number of spectators.
The observing trainees had to stand up while the instructors and veteran hunters occupied the seats.
Some remarks were not contained due to the curiosity of most observers.
'Is this the same person who topped all records among the technical support specialists?'
'Yes and by the looks of it, she might be even breaking more records!'
Even the spectating instructors and veteran hunters were talking amongst themselves.
"If I am right, there has been no precedence of this situation where technical support specialists joined a simulation training session." A veteran hunter mentioned to his peers.
"Actually there has been during the first day of the opening but it ended with his death and traumatic experience for the staff of the academy because it revealed the limitations of the ability of technical support specialists. In terms of combat!" Belle, a technical support specialist hunter and also an instructor in the academy, responded to the veteran hunter.
"So basically, there has been no successful outcome for the technical support specialists."
Belle replied in a disappointed manner, "Yes, because of that, no technical support specialists dared to join the simulation training session ever again."
Some of the other trainees and veteran hunters laughed upon hearing Belle's confirmation.
Maki, Lily, Belle and the other technical support specialists did not laugh along because they felt insulted and mocked at by the laughter and stares of the other specialist hunters.
They had no choice but to contain their humiliation and hurt pride.
Meanwhile,
The training session was about to begin.
"All of you will be going through a simulation where things will be programmed like in reality. The setting will be in an island invaded by vampires …" The instructor started to brief each trainees in the training room.
Upon hearing the setting of their simulation training session, Alliyah was reminded of the night when her hometown was invaded by the vampires.
Her fists were clenched in her anger.
Their instructor continued in briefing them all before starting the simulation.
"All of you will be working in two teams. Team A and Team B …"
[-Team A-] consisted of 2 Brawlers, 2 Marksmen and 1 Weapon Specialist.
[-Team B-] consisted of 1 Brawler, 2 Weapon Specialists, 1 Marksmen and 1 Technical Support.
Brawlers are usually the team captains during teaming. Due to their brave nature and confidence with their physical prowess, they were the most reliable member in a team. Mostly, they are the front liners and deals stronger damage and defense for the team.
One of the members of the Team B who specialized as Brawler, complained being teamed up with Alliyah.
"I guess we got the dud. How I wish we could swap …" whined by the teammate of Alliyah.
His fellow -Brawler- Trainees laughed at his whining and complains.
The rest of the members of Team B became nervous and planned on how to handle the situation once the simulation starts.
While the other trainees started to group themselves accordingly,
Their instructor reminded them with few things.
"Your evaluation scores in this training session can become bonus points for your practical exam which will be added if ever you got lower general average scores than the passing rate. Remember of two objectives for this simulations …"
[1] Save and protect any civilians in danger.
[2] Lastly, eliminate any detected vampires.
He ended his reminder with, "The simulation may show you hologram scenes but the vampire targets will be machines with similar aesthetics and regular skill sets. Even though this is only simulation training, the danger level can be life-threatening and the damages dealt might be lethal. So, teamwork is important and move with caution. We will see who amongst you are prepared to take the practical exam next week. And become our next official hunters!"
Everyone anticipated for the training session to begin.
Unknown to them, Alliyah was starting to become emotional and more eager to perform.
It meant more for her than the other trainees.
Because … this time around, she can finally do what she was not able to do during the fated night of the invasion of her hometown, the Caragua Island.
Right before the simulation started,
The captain of the Team B gathered his teammates.
"I know all of us want to get a high evaluation grade for this training session. So, I expect everyone to pay attention and work closely with me. I do not want liabilities. Marksman, you will be handling our rear. Weapon Specialists, both of you will be my left and right wing. The three of us will be handling the vampires ahead of us. And you, technical support specialist, I want you to secure the civilians and just stay within our range. Do not go off on your own. Any casualties will result to the team's deduction. Does everyone understand their roles? Just call me Leo!" the brawler of Team B briefed his teammates and introduced himself.
All his teammates responded affirmatively, but Alliyah was silent.
She was in her deep thoughts.
"Hey, technical support specialist! Do you understand the plan?" Leo reiterated to Alliyah the plan of their team.
An affirmative nod was given by Alliyah.
"So … we have a technical support specialist and a silent-type as well. GREAT!" Leo mocked at Alliyah being part of his team.
A loud sound of buzz signaled the beginning of the simulation training.
"Here we go … Let's do this!" Leo exclaimed with enthusiasm.
