Time seemed to fly by, Riley had met my brother's just as promised and it was complete chaos. All of them were excited to meet her especially Eli. They became best friends in an instant, they were probably talking about clothes or something.
It has already been a full week since I poured my heart out to Riley. Slowly over the past week we got to know more about each other, like how Riley does not like chili, for which in fact I love. Her expressive side was showing more often and she began to show more sides of herself. Like how she'd get upset when she lost one of her silver hair piece things, which I still don't know the name.
It's already been weeks since I've last seen Daylyn. As often as I can I would call or send him a text, just to see how he was doing. I still haven't gotten a response. There's still a heavy feeling my chest, I'm afraid he won't come back and that he's left me for good. I'm afraid of how life would be like without him, I'm worried. He wouldn't leave me forever.
Would he?
I walked the hallways of the school alone, I was on my way to present the project with Riley. I partially worked on it, but I wouldn't blame her if she didn't put my name on the project. That also reminds me, Daylyn would've been my partner if Riley had turned me down that day."Liam!" I looked up and smiled when I saw Riley waving towards her."Why are you so late? Were up after this group." She said, but I wasn't really listening, all I was doing was admiring her face. She huffed in annoyance," Am I that pretty?"
"Absolutely." I said in a smug voice and she slapped my arm. She pulled me inside the room quietly and to our seats that were in the far back. Soon it was our turn too present. I did the job of changing the slides while Riley spoke. She kept a smile on her face while all the bored college students stared at her. She looked enthusiastic about what she was talking about and I watched in amazement.
I could never talk in front of big crowds.
Soon class was over and we were on our way to lunch. Then I suddenly got a text on my phone, it was from Daylyn. He wanted me to see him outside. I immediately jolted away from Riley to the entrance doors,"Where you going?" She yelled after me and I almost tripped over my own feet to look back at her."I'll be right back!"
I ran around the hallways to find the entrance, I pushed the door open and there he was.
After bursting through the entrance doors, I slowly walked towards. He looked at me blankly, but there was a faint smile on his face."Hey Daylyn," I said as I finally made it towards him."Hey, how have you been?" He said as he ran his hands through his hair.
"I've been great, thanks to you, I finally did what I wanted and I finally have what I need." He said and walked closer to me. He looked brighter."I want to apologize, I'm sorry fro overreacting like that, I made it a burden that I had to take responsibility for you even when you didn't ask. I was being unreasonable, and you're perfectly capable of making your own decisions."
"I'm sorry too, I didn't listen to you and I wasn't aware of how you were feeling, I'm sorry for making you feel like you had to take care of me." I said and he laughed slightly."It's fine, really, we both were in this spiral of confusion, and I'm glad your happy with her." He said with smiling eyes.
"Speaking of which, what were you really up to?" I said as I squinted my eyes."I found the love of my life, I got a good job, and I even have my own apartment now." When he spoke his voice sounded happy. I have never really seen this side of him."And you?"
"I finally told Riley I like her, and I kissed her twice." I said proudly and folded my arms."I've been gone for a weeks now and all you did was kiss her twice? Sad." He said as he rolled his eyes."Fine maybe our relationship is a little slow, but it's better that way." I said and he shook his head and laughed.
"Well, I guess this is see you later?" He said as he took out his fist. I sighed, as I took my fist out as well,"See you later Day." And with that our fist connected briefly before he turned and walked away."Take care of him alright?" He yelled and I turned around to see that Riley was watching a few feet away."How long have you been there?" I asked as I walked up to her.
"For a while, but I didn't want to barge in." She said and grabbed my hand,"Come on we have lunch soon.
Slowly I started to realize how far I've come in life, with my dad and my brothers. Even with Day and Riley. It's been a roller coaster of emotions. I'm glad that everyone has been doing well and everyone's happy.
But I can't help but feel worried. I'm worried, I'm worried I might do something stupid and mess up everything that's going good for me. It's out of my control to stop myself from doing that, what happens, is what's meant to be. But that doesn't mean I won't feel bad about it.
My main concern is keeping Riley happy and away from people like seven.
My side concern if that even makes sense, is that stalker, they've been awfully quiet recently. I still have no I idea who this D person is. It could be anyone, and how am I sure it could be a girl? I've been confessed to by guys before, but not many. And don't even get me started on how many girls there are.
I'll deal with it later, all of that can wait. Right now I need to figure out how to permanently find a place for myself in Riley's heart.
I'm sure I'm already a few steps closer.
