I saw my mom near the registrar's office. It took me almost thirty minutes to find her. Luckily, I met a student who was so nice and she helped me look for the office.
"Where have you been?" My mom asked. I can tell that she's really pissed off. Patience isn't really just our virtue. "And what happened to your coat?" She added.
"I was almost hit by a car. I was just fortunate enough cause' I didn't get hurt. And the coffee just spilled on my coat though." I blurted. I can still remember the look on that jerk's face. The way he smirk at me while his friend apologizes. Well, I'm not sure if they are actually friends but I won't believe it either if they are siblings. They just don't seem to be physically the same. And their personalities are very unlike to each other. 'You're being too judgemental' my subconscious is being sarcastic and I just really want to smack her right now.
"I think we should just go and check in to a hotel. The lady in the office said there was something wrong with their internet connection and they'll have to resume the enrollment early morning tomorrow." She said and I nod in reply. Oh thank heavens! I can't stand wearing this coat already. If only that jerk drove carefully, I wouldn't be in this mess. 'Move on already' my subconscious added but I think I should agree with her right now. There are a lot of things going on in my mind and thinking about him should be the last thing I'd rather be doing. We grab our luggages and went outside the gate. Fortunately, a cab passed by and stopped infront of us.
"Where to?" The driver asked us.
"To Rodeway Inn please." My mom replied. She seemed to be very familiar with this place since she knew a lot about it. The driver got out of the cab and he helped us carry our luggages. He placed it gently to the back and we went inside the cab. He grab his keys, tuning on the radio. The music played as he drove on the road. It was Little Things by Colbie Caillat. I almost fell asleep when my phone vibrated. I opened it and it was a message from James.
"I'm sorry, Emma. Just please give me another chance."
I ignored and deleted his message. The song isn't helping. It makes me want to cry out loud. I can't deny it. I still love him. But after what happened, after what he did, I can't give him another chance. Minutes later, we arrived at the hotel and got out of the car. The hotel porter welcomed us with a grin. The driver placed our luggages to the floor. My mom went to the front desk, inquiring if there's still a room for two.
"Oh yes we have. Michael, accompany them to room 109 please." She handed the room keys to my mom and the hotel porter brought our luggages to the room.
"Thank you." My mom gave the man some tips and he smiled in gratitude. He went back downstairs while we went inside our room. The room is very cozy though. The beds are really comfortable to lay on. They even offer free breakfast and free internet in the room. And it's so amazing cause' it didn't cost that much. I opened my luggage and grab some pajamas. I need to rest. I still need to wake up early tomorrow and I don't want to be in a rush again. My mom slept on the bed next to me. I lay on the bed and pulled the blanket to my face. The room is so cold and I need to warm myself. I turned to lamp off and the room was full of silence.
Morning has come and I went inside the bathroom to have a shower. Luckily, I brought some extra coats with me. I don't want to remember what happened yesterday so I shove the thought of my stained coat away. I decided to put on my black pencil skirt and my black&white dotted cottoned polo. I covered it with my grey swing coat since the weather is still not well. My mom woke up and she seemed shock after seeing me dressed already.
"Goodmorning mom." I greeted with a smile.
"You look stunning as always. Well, just like me." She laugh and I rolled my eyes. "I'll get ready now. Call the front desk and tell her we're gonna have some breakfast." I nod and grab the telephone. I dial the number of the front desk and the phone ringed.
"Goodmorning ma'am, what can we do for you? By the way, the room service is on her way for your breakfast." She said. She must've read my mind.
"Oh thank you." I hung up the phone and minutes later, I heard a knock on the door. It must be the room service. I opened the door and I was right.
"Goodmorning, ma'am! May I enter the room?" She said with a sweet smile.
"Yeah sure." I smiled back. She placed the food on the table. "Thank you. This dish looks lovely." I handed her some tips and she went back on her way.
"Mom, breakfast is ready!" I called out my mom who is still in the bathroom.
"Yeah, I'm coming out." She replied. I noticed that there are no coffee. Only hot chocolate with mallows. I'm not much into hot choco's so I went downstairs to check on if it's okay to change the hot choco to coffee.
"We're sorry ma'am but we don't have any coffee left. The old lady staying in next to your room already got the last one. But Michael is on his way to buy some. You can wait if that's okay." She replied with a smile.
"It's okay. I'll just buy outside." I smiled back and went to the door. The air is cold and breezy. Today seems to be a lucky day for me cause I saw a coffee shop beside the hotel. I went inside and my eyes gaze to someone. He looks so familiar. I can't really see his face because of his hoody. But something is telling me that I knew this guy. He stood up and his hoody fall off from his back. It was the jerk who drove the Audi R8.
