'Just act normal and ignore him' I said to myself.
"Hey?" The lady on the counter looked pissed. She must've been talking the whole time.
"Oh I'm sorry. I was just thinking.. hmm well, I'll have the brewed coffee please." I replied.
"Yeah sure." She said with a smirk.
She handed me my coffee and I paid my bill. Just when I was about to go outside, a guy in a hoody passed by me. I tripped off and the coffee almost spilled on my coat. 'Thank goodness. That was close' I thought to myself. I looked up and it was the freaking jerk again. What's wrong with him? Did his parents even taught him some manners?
"Hey! You!" I ran towards him. He's not listening. Is he deaf?
"What?" He groaned. He turned his head back then continued walking.
"What's wrong with you?" I blurted. Why am I even following him?
"Huh? Who are you?" He's being obnoxious.
"Oh c'mon! Are you kidding me? I was the girl you almost hit with your freaking car yesterday!" I scream. I can't believe this guy. "And the same girl you just bumped in earlier." I added.
"Really? You don't look hurt." He smirk. His sarcasm annoys me already.
"Did your parents even taught you some manners? You owe me an apology, you jerk!" Now I am even more furious.
"Sorry not sorry." He sob. Wait. Was he crying? Oh great! Now my coffee just spilled on the ground. I bend down, grabbing the cup. When I stood up, he's already no where to be seen. My phone vibrated. I opened it and it was a missed call from mom. I tap down and sent her a message.
"Sorry. I went outside to grab some coffee. I'm on my way."
I went back to the hotel and I opened the door of our room.
"If you don't mind, the food is already cold. And please hurry up cause I don't want us to be late. There'll be a lot of students now and we might just end up in the last line. I don't want that to happen." She said. I just smiled in reply.
Minutes later, I finished eating and we both went outside. The air is still cold but thankfully, my swing coat and lace-up boots is very comfortable and it warms up my body. After minutes of waiting, we end up standing on a bus.
"Hey?" A guy sitting on my right said. When I turned my head, I was a bit surprised to see the guy who had been with the jerk the other day.
"Oh. Hi." I tried to smile back. I don't want to be rude though.
"You can take my seat if you want." He beamed.
"No, it's okay. Thanks though." I smiled back and looked away.
"I'm sorry for what happened yesterday. Drew is just being an asshole." He giggled.
"I won't disagree with that." I rolled my eyes and laugh. 'Oh so his name is Drew' I said to myself.
"I'm Alex by the way." He grin. He extend his right arms, opening his palms to shake with my hands.
"Emma. Emma Smith. Nice to meet you. Oh and this is my mom." I replied, extending my arms to shake with his hands. I poked my mom who still seems to be sleepy. I can't deny, he's cute and hot.
"Oh. Hi Mrs. Smith! So where to?" He smiled at my mom and she nod in reply.
"NJ City University." I replied.
"Oh! Really?" He raised his eyebrows and I nod in reply. "Me too. So are you from here?" He added.
"Not really. I'm from Brooklyn." I replied. The bus went for a stop and I took a grip of the bar, preventing my body from falling on my knees.
"Hey easy there." He held my free arm and I turned my head to him. We both stared at each other's eyes. His blue eyes are so amazing. "Are you okay?" He asked.
"Yeah I'm fine." I shake his arms away gently. This is kinda awkward.
"Here we are." He said and I looked at my left to see the grand buildings of the university. We stepped down the stairs and we both went inside. "Well see you later. It was nice meeting you Emma and Mrs. Smith. Take care both of you." He waved his hands goodbye.
"You too, Alex." My mom replied. I smiled in response and just when I was about to walk, I felt a hand holding on to my shoulders.
"Hey I almost forgot something." He said.
"What is it?" My eyes confused.
"I just wondered if I can ask for your number? Since you're new here, you'll need someone to guide you. Or shall we say a friend." He giggled and I laugh. He's so kind unlike Drew. "Well that is if it's okay with you." He gave me a sweet smile and I can't help but admire his goodness. I just can't also help but wonder how did they became friends with Drew.
"Yeah sure." I smiled and he gave me his phone. I typed down my number and gave it back to him.
"Thank you, Emma. See you around." He grin.
"No. Thank you Alex." He laughed and walk back to his way.
Minutes later, my phone vibrated. It was a message from an unknown sender. I tap down and opened it.
"Beep me if you need any assistance."
It was a message from Alex.
