Jasen and Curtis were just enjoying their last day of summer. Skating on one of the lesser known skate parks in that area. Curtis was the stereotypical surf dude. Slightly tan, muscular, and with that Sandy blond hair that would make some girls swoon. Jason on the other hand was a picture of non descript.
Not real tall. Not short. Not pale. Not real tan. Plain brown hair.
Even his dull brown eyes. Plain and forgettable in every way, shape, and form.
"It just sounds too weird to me," Jason spoke up from where he was sitting.
With his back up against the table top of the one and only picnic table at that skate park. it was in the corner closer to the beach, but Jason had his back to the ocean, and was paying more attention to his friend Curtis as he skateboarded casually.
"what?" Curtis stopped to look at Jason.
"A no contact school?" Jason looked at his friend, "No cell phones. Nothing."
"No internet," Curtis flipped his skateboard up into his hand and sat next to Jason, "Complete immersion program. At least for first years."
"First year of high school, and that's when we get split up," Jason frowned, "I'll probably get my ass kicked."
"That would be your own damn fault dumbass," Curtis chuckled, "you practically beg for them to beat your head in on a daily basis."
"Seriously," Jason looked up leaning back into the table, "Why does summer end so quick?"
"Because life hates us," Curtis heaved himself off the picnic bench, "You wanna go to the drink stand?"
Jason cocked and eyebrow at Curtis.
"Yeah," Curtis lightly kicked his foot, "I'm buying."
"Then what are we waiting for?" Jason shot to his feet with a half grin.
"Don't be so happy," Curtis snorted, "I'll start running a tab."
