Chapter 6 - Chapter 6

Getting inside the city. They just casually roamed around like a bunch of dudes who don't know their destination.

"Hey. Where should we go?"

"Hey guys…"

"What, Rei?"

"I… Need to use a bathroom."

"What do you mean? In real life or in the game?"

"I am not sure. But it doesn't feel like this when characters need to use one in the game right? It felt so real. We don't have this kind of feeling in the game."

"Then go ahead and use one."

"But where!?"

"Let's ask them."

Asking around. The people said it was over a few blocks away in an inn.

"But I can't hold for that long!"

"Then pee over in that dark alleyway."

"Fine."

He then proceeds to do so

"Isn't it odd?"

"What, Rai?"

"Yeah. We need to eat, use bathroom, that a shower, and rest in the game for our characters to not develop debuffs as those are the only consequences for not doing so. Weakened if we don't have enough nutrients or rest. Odor when we don't take a bath regularly which gives off our location for those who had a good smell especially monsters. But what Rei is experiencing. It feels like this is not the game."

"Yeah. Also. A silver coin and the ID stuff. We don't have that in the game. The guards instantly recognize us even under a mask and if they don't want us inside, a barrier will just simply stop us from entering even if we do manage to kill them. Though they are immortal."

"You're right. Also. Our places of origin don't exist on their maps, luckily that receptionist agreed to just keep it a secret. She also said that they are at war with the empire and since this is the nearest place from the battlefield. They have to take extra precautions so that spies won't get inside. So that means those soldiers we kill earlier are both from them and their enemy huh?"

"It really is odd. We're almost three hours stuck here after all."

"Guys! I'm back!"

"Where did you peed?"

"Just over there. Luckily nobody saw me."

"Alright. Let's just go to that inn then."

They then walk a few houses away and eventually reached the inn.

"Inns. How nostalgic."

Rai murmured.

"Haha. Early days in the game."

Rei replied.

"Yeah. We haven't set foot on an inn for 5 years in-game time."

"Haha, true."

Apparently. The game runs with a time ratio of 3 to 1 so three hours in the game means 1 hour in real-time. If a player had been offline for more than ten hours the game gives him a buff that gives off 50% more exp in the next three quests no matter the exp they give. This makes the game more balanced. But in all actuality. Nobody could abuse this. With the world discovering a new element that gives nigh-limitless energy.

Advancement of A.I in the past one hundred years. 94% of all jobs around the world had been replaced by them. The world truly became peaceful as the whole world has united and allowed open borders for everybody, creating a utopia. This all happened in the year 2476.

With these things. Everyone could freely focus on their hobbies. Whether it's by playing sports. Playing their favorite games. Singing or anything. The era of pure entertainment began.

The only jobs available are few. Be a coder, a medical expert, Scientist, or an entertainer by any means thus you create enough money. In case your monthly income is less than 1,000 per month. The government will pay for you with the Minimum Income System. They basically pay you 1,000 dollars per month in case things do not go your way. Another thing to be happy about.

With the energy crisis being taken care of elegantly. The whole world's debt is also clear by now. Even undeveloped countries became extremely developed to match other countries. War never happened anymore with the peace agreement all around the world. No more people have to be homeless and are fed well in this era that everyone truly loves and are thankful to live in as even the crime rate in the world is actually just is 0.3% and most of them are just pickpocketing. In recent year. Only one murder has been listed in the whole world.

They stepped inside the inn which is extremely beautiful and seems to be for rich people. Apparently, their attires are that of a commoner since this is the default clothes in the game when you started anew.

Eyes peering at them all directions. They all seemed to be rich and valuable people with beautiful clothing only those kinds of people truly could afford.

They hid their weapons in their inventories earlier before coming in here so people really have guts to look at them in such a way.

"We wanted a room."

Rai said to the male receptionist.

"Uh… Sir… You might have mistaken this pla–"

"I said we wanted a room. Or two if that is not big enough for five of us."

"Uh... Yeah! We have a room for five people but…"

"The clothes? I see. Then. Do you want me to buy this whole place then?"

"Eh? Sir... You might have... Alright sir. I don't want to ruin our customer's times so I'll just give you a room then. Nine silver coins."

The male receptionist then game them a key to the room.

"Here. Keep the change."

Rai tossed a pouch that has one hundred gold coins in it.

"Eh? Sir!"

But they paid no mind to him.

"Why would he give so much money!? Can I?"

The receptionist hid a few in his pocket. Things like this will surely be taken by the manager so he must secure some.

"Human greed. What a common thing."

They found the room and went to open it.

"Whoa! Such a big room! Ah!"

Rei said as he jumped on a nearby bed.

"This feels so real! I just wish this is another world! Though earth is not that bad with VR games. A fantasy world is just much better!"

"Stop it Rei."

"We should change our clothes. These are a commoner's stuff."

"Let's rest first."

Laurence said.

"Yeah. We're all pretty tired after all."

They then all took their own beds and laid down.

"Hey Rei. If this is a fantasy world. Where do you think others are now?"

Niel asked.

"Yeah… I miss Mafuyu… Could it be! That they are here too but simply landed on a different spot?"

"That doesn't make sense. We all got transported from the same spot. It won't make sense thar we all ended up separated."

"What if we are the only group separated from them?"

"Don't think so."

Rai spoke up.

"I don't think we all are together. If only the chat function works here… We don't have many evidence yet. Let's just chill first."

"Yeah, yeah. He's right."
