Vin was running in her dream. She wore a long dark red robe and it was midnight. The trees were swaying and the moonlight was eerie. But Vin had only one destination in mind. The Imperial Temple. She reached the door and panted.
A shadow appeared out of nowhere and hugged her. Vin didn't see his face but she felt it familiar. Before she could ask something, Vin woke up in cold sweat.
"Master, master, did you have a nightmare? You were thrashing. I couldn't wake you up."
Vin looked at the blue fur and hugged it close to her chest. The dream was so real like it had happened to her before. But it didn't make any sense to her. Vin calmed her breathing and looked at the time. It was five in the morning. She decided to go for a run and clear her mind.
Vin had spent last ten years as a boy. She had a charm placed on her to mask her identity. Vin only remembered that it was done by her parents before they died. The moment she opened her eyes later, she was in a hospital in different country. She didn't remember going there and coming back. Her mind was a mess. But she had to live her life searching for her lost memories and her guardian.
And most importantly she became an orphan. She had no one in her family. But Vin wasn't the one who would step back. She had promised her parents so she would live her life. She started working and founded V group. She was eleven years old. And now she was twenty years old and her company was thriving.
'Master, Mistress had a dream about her past.'
Arya was meditating when he heard this.
'She is remembering her life, then will we also get our memories back?'
'Yes, as soon as she remembers, we will also remember.'
'But why did we forget?'
'It looks like a deep magic spell. Maybe it wasn't good if we knew our past.'
'But master, mistress will be strained trying to remember her past. Her mind will be overloaded.'
'I know, that's why I'll be staying by her side so she wouldn't get herself in danger.'
'What kind of danger, master?'
'Shadow guards, they are still alive. They are scattered all over the world. I think they would want to harm us if they realise we activated our magic.'
'But they don't know exactly, Master.'
'We have to be on guard. Our first priority is her safety. Okay?'
Ya nodded at his master. He knew that his master would probably kill himself if he knew that mistress would be alive. Little did Ya know that it was what had happened in their previous life. The memories sealed deep in their mind will wreak havoc after they recovered.
Vin played with her phone before entering her conference room. She regularly contacted the higher staff. Only they knew that she was the head of the company. She was after all, young when she had started. And also her identity was hidden.
She mostly trusted two of her subordinates. They were her partners and her family. She always relied on them. They were waiting for her in the room.
Dia waited for her to sit before chattering happily. She was in her late twenties but she was a shrewd businesswoman. Almost everyone knew her abilities. No one knew why she was willing to follow a teenager. Only Dia knew what she saw the day she met Vin.
She saw a kid playing with his computer and sat beside him. The kid turned his head and observed her and her books. He talked with her and analysed every situation. That day he promised her that she would be his partner if he someday started a business. Dia laughed at the boy thinking he was joking. Less than a week later, the boy met her and showed her his business proposal. Dia was shocked but she agreed because he was like a little brother to her and she couldn't bear seeing him sad. That little kid was now a handsome young man who was sitting before her analyzing market trends right now.
The other person was Vin's uncle Praveen. He was a most loyal supporter of her father. When he found that his friend was dead, he decided to take care of the kid. He never saw Vin before so he didn't know her secret. But he treated her like his own child. And Vin was very happy with him.
Both Dia and Uncle Praveen managed the V group with an iron fist leaving Vin to study in her free time. Vin realised that she would have to give up her disguise sooner to maintain a foothold in the business industry. Or she would never regain her true identity. She felt the beginning of a massive headache looming before her.
Seeing her massaging her temple, both Dia and Uncle Praveen became apprehensive.
''We are partnering with Mr. Arya for the next video game venture. I want the proposal ready by Saturday. You have three days."
They looked at Vin with narrowed eyes.
"Are you talking about the Shark, Mr. Arya? How did you manage to accept his proposal? You always rejected their attempts and now you said yes?" Dia questioned Vin.
"Yes, you always rejected even when we told you that it was the number one company in our country. How did that boy manage to win you over?"
Vin couldn't tell them that he had momentarily bewitched her. She sighed. Men were trouble. And she dreaded this cooperation now.
"He agreed to give funds and we can rest assured with profits. I liked that idea."
Dia laughed, "You are ridiculous. But no matter what, it will always be beneficial to us."
"I'll start working," Praveen told Vin and left.
Both Dia and Vin started working on the game and time flew by. By the time they were exhausted, it was nearly midnight.
Vin dropped Dia to her apartment which was five minutes away from their company. Later Vin went to her own apartment and worked on her magic.
"Master, if that young man has a guardian, won't he be able to tell that you are a girl?"
