How's Yuna? Did I make it? Did I meet with her?
And what's this? I'm hearing footsteps, coming towards me.
A man suddenly splashes me with a bucket of water.
"Wake up." The man says.
My head and body is all soaked in water. I couldn't even open my eyes easily because of the water.
"What the? Where am I?" I was clueless.
"You are here, at our interrogation room. Tell me, do you have any idea of what you've done?"
I lowered my head, "Yes, I let a child ran. I let a witness live." Then, I looked at him with a pathetic face, "--So, SORRY! If I couldn't kill a child! Ok?"
He smirked and looked at me with an intent, "Is that all?"
My eyebrows furrowed, "Is that all? Yes! That's all!"
"What's the first thing that comes into your mind now that you're soaking wet?"
I began to overthink, 'What does he mean?' Then I suddenly realized,'--Oh no! The phone!'
My hands are tied in thick metal cuffs, chained in a wall with my arms wide open. I tried to reach the pocket from my jacket, but I failed. I just couldn't reach it in this situation.
"Have you guessed it? It seems you're trying to reach something from your pocket, yes?"
I looked at him with narrowed eyes, "What do you know?"
He then waves his hand while holding my phone, "Hmm... What do we have here?"
"Don't touch it! I swear that if you touch it-
"You're gonna what? Spit it! Say it! So we could end your suffering right now..." He immediately interrupt me.
I was silenced for a second. He then clicks my phone, but he's having trouble opening it, "Locked? Hmp! Clever bastard..."
I smirked, "Hah! Goodluck. The only way to open it is through me.."
"Then open it. I'm asking you to open it."
I shook my head, "No... Never..."
He was just staring at me, then suddenly chuckles, "Are you being stubborn now? Do you want this to end badly? Even if you don't say it, the screen in your phone shows who texted you."
My eyes opened widely, 'Oh no! I totally forgot about that...'
"Who's this Yuna? She texted you like 10 times. Too bad you weren't able to text back. How sad..."
"That's none of your business!"
"Oh? But it is! Have you forgotten? Our vows, our rules, our laws? Is that all real? Or are you just pretending?"
I remained silenced, because all of it was true... I suddenly realized of who I am and what I truly am.
"It is clear. Part of our rules is that we're not allowed to have an affair or interference with the public. Did you just deny all that and selfishly pushed your own motive?" He added.
I began to rethink of what I've done. He was right about me being selfish, but I couldn't hold my feelings.
I'm like a soldier who enters battlefield without equipment.
Just how stupid of me? How am I suppose to fix this? Now that they knew I have an affair?
I then bowed down at him, "I'm sorry... It seems that I couldn't get a hold of myself..."
He chuckled, "Apologizing? If you're apologizing, you better apologize to her."
I looked at him with a confused face.
"How?"
"Well, if my request has passed, then you get to apologize to her and kill her."
My head bolted upright after hearing an unacceptable choice, "What!?"
"But if my request did not pass, we will be the one to kill her."
My eyes opened widely in shock, "Wait, what!?"
He nodded, "Yes, that's why you better pray for my request to pass. Even if it passes, we'll be watching you do it. So don't underestimate us..."
He looked at me with his gazing eyes. I on the other hand felt like my body is melting out of despair. I couldn't stand to hear what he just said.
I clenched my fists angrily, but I'm also having a heavy feeling in my chest, 'I... I don't want Yuna dead...'
"Anyways, it might take long. So you'll be staying here for a while, alone..." He said.
"How long?" I replied depressingly.
"Depends. Most of the hoarders are busy during New Year. You know how vulnerable our targets are during holidays, right? Including your girl..."
My teeth grinds as I glare at him, "Don't you dare touch her! Not until there is permission from the elder!"
"With or without permission, she's now in our target, but don't worry, I'm a man of my word. We'll wait if my request has passed or not."
"I... I trust your words if that's the case then..." I replied faintly, because it felt like there's nothing I can do.
"Good. Now wait for the result..."
He then left me in the room, alone. He turned off the light, making the entire room dark.
I thought it would be a complete silence, but I can hear the sound of explosions coming from above.
Atop of our underground lair, there lies the city of Tokyo.
Tonight is New Year's Eve. I wonder what's news about Yuna?
I bet she's having a lonely eve as me...
