It was night in Sapporo...
Me and another one of us who becomes my temporary partner, tries to kill the running traitor. He jumps from roof-to-roof. We tried to throw a knife at him, but we always miss.
He then stopped from running and glared at us, "You fools! Do you even have any idea what the elders are planning?" The traitor says.
"We don't care! Traitor!" My partner shoutedly reply.
"Then you're gonna regret that!" The traitor replied back with a shout and gnashing teeth.
He then threw several knives at us and chants, "Flicker!"
We both parried it all. However, as we parry all his knives, he then charged towards against us.
He came to me first and then clashed with me. My partner, then tries to flank him, but he is also fast, that is why he also parried with him. He parries both of our swords. He was super fast like you won't see his blade dashing around.
While we were parrying him, I noticed that there were blood being splat everywhere. I don't think it was mine, but it wasn't his as well...
I asked myself, 'What's going on? Whose blood is this?'
We kept parrying and parrying, when suddenly, my partner fell to the ground. He was losing a lot of blood.
My eyes opened widely in surprise. I do not know what is happening. Could it be? That he was slashing him without us noticing while parrying with us at the same time?
I gulped as I looked at him, 'I think... I just dug my own grave...'
As he was about to charge at me, two of my team suddenly arrived.
He stopped from charging as soon as he saw my reinforcements. However, that does not stop him.
He smirked at us and chanted, "Shadow Flare!"
His sword began to inflame, covering itself in black flames. As he says that, he then slashed at the air, pointing at us 'till his blade released a black flame coming out of his sword.
Two of us dodged the flame. However, one of us got caught. He then started to burn all by himself, but he wasn't literally burning. He just fell to the ground and got himself covered in black flames.
"Like I said, you will regret it..." The traitor said it with a smug in his face.
The other guy then charged at him. I of course did not just watch, so I tried to flank him. As the other guy tried to parry him, he then dashed and cuts through the side, his rib side. Then, this guy that got hit began to burn all by himself. His body was inflamed in shadowy flames.
I gulped as I watched him die, 'This sword... I'm sure it is a super rare...'
The traitor then fell on his knee and began to cough blood, but he insisted to get back up again and parry with me. We parried and parried. I have to be careful of his speed or else, I'm gonna be the next one. I tried to back up and evade his attacks. He couldn't catch me and was breathing heavily, when suddenly, he tripped himself to the ground.
He fell to the ground and was having trouble to stand up again. I was about to take the opportunity to kill him, when suddenly, he shouted in pain.
He was holding his arm, the arm that was holding his inflamed sword. He was shouting in pain, holding his arm and was coughing blood at the same time.
I just watched him as he struggle in pain. I guess he couldn't stop his sword from taking too much mana from him.
I gnashed, 'Now's my chance. If I kill him, I'll be able to get that sword from him. This is my chance to finally obtain a super rare weapon.'
I then charged at him and thrusts my sword to his chest. His sword then stopped from inflaming. As he dies, he dropped the sword and fell to the ground.
As soon as he die, I then took the sword. His sword is completely black. Even the scabbard is completely black. It has a hood-like design at the center of its guard, but that's just all. The design may be dull and boring, but its power is what defines it.
I head back and reported everything that happened. Our superior, the one who is in charge of leading us, said that there are more traitors who escaped.
Our battle at Sapporo may be over, but we must remain here for a week, for that is the elder's wish.
Our superior then told me, "Keep that sword with you. You are to give that to the elder."
I made a confused face, "Give? I mean... I already summoned it as mine."
My superior suddenly bursted out from anger, "What!? You fool! In that case, you must remain loyal to us or else, the elder will have your head."
"Wh-Why? What's with this sword anyways?'
"That sword is a soul eater... It can hurt not only mortals, but also celestial beings. That means it can hurt blood hoarders and alchemists, because they are also half-demons."
I gulped. I think owning this sword is a bad idea, after all.
Two days later, we received news as to where the remaining traitors are hiding. Fifteen of us, including Tokyo and Sapporo team, subjugates the hiding traitors in their hideout.
"They are in an abandoned building, our drone bird shows." Our superior says.
We all head-out that night.
As we arrive, nine of us then surrounded the building in order for them to not escape.
Six of us then entered the building's main entrance, while I stayed at the exit door to watch over it.
We heard violent noises inside, but after a while, the noises stopped. Our superior then ordered us to go in, except those at the exit door.
As soon as they get in, I began to hear violent noises of people shouting in pain inside the building. Sooner or later, I hear footsteps coming towards the exit.
As I waited, the door then opened, and as it opens, I quickly took a slash attack.
The person I hit then died. I killed him cold-bloodedly. It's like I felt numb after killing him.
After a while, I then entered the building. I saw nothing, but bloodshed everywhere. As I look around, I saw them all, covered in blood.
I sighed, 'We hoarders are seemingly used to this, to being a killer...' Then I looked into my hand, covered in blood as well. '--And I'm one of them...' A tear, then came out of my eye. '--This... This is why I shouldn't be with her... Because I'm a cold-blooded killer...'
I then left the building and took some fresh air while I look around. It was a sanguinary night under a cold, freezing weather.
I was lost in thought as the cool breeze continues. As I observe the city of Sapporo, covered in thick-freezing snow, I realized and said to myself, "I guess this city is not so different from me... Cold, lifeless, and boring..."
As I walk around the street, I noticed that it was so quiet and so different, unlike in Tokyo. The streets are empty, buildings and shops are closed. Only the street lights are open.
As soon as I entered an alley, I then saw a person, lying in the corner, near the dumpster. This person looks homeless, but at the same time, freezing.
I then asked myself, 'Should I help this guy? Or not?'
