The door to Old Hee's room opened, Lan Shang came out and closed the door behind her.. She pondered for a short while;
"Why did Old Hee call Guo Daiyu that name? What does it have to do with her?" She ruminated in a low voice, her brows creased together in curiousity.
Her chin was tilted upward with her lips pursed in utter apprehension.
Old Hee definitely likes Chan Juan, being the oldest elder in the Shao Family, she had experienced being with various daughter in-laws, but this was certainly different. Even Lan Shang's cajoling was always on pure luck, it was surprising how she responded to Chan Juan quickly; but at the same time attracting pretty much questions.
She shook her head vigorously in order to get rid of the thoughts, coming to the conclusion that Guo Daiyu (Chan Juan) must have just found favour in Old Hee.
Lan Shang raised her fine brows in acknowledgement and left.
After putting Old Hee to bed, Chan Juan slumped on the rookie chair close to the bed. She brooded on what had just happened moments ago, she kind of like Old Hee, she seemed nice at first instance and carefree.
All she wondered around was why she had called her Qiuyue? Chan Juan gazed at Old Hee sleeping gracefully beneath the soft sheets; Chan Juan smiled and rose up, she sauntered towards the bed, and dressed the duvet before leaving the room.
Chan Juan got to the desolated living room, it appearance gave her chills. It was so dark and gloomy, no sign of cheerfulness or light. The thick curtains did a great job shutting every ray of sun out.
Chan Juan's eyes and mouth were wide open; complete bizarre.
"Why are the curtains closed?" Chan Juan murmured to herself curiously looking bewildered.
Then, she caught a quick glimpse of a hazy black mist hovering around and disappeared suddenly. Chan Juan's heart leaped, she decided to move away from the living room.
In her moment of disorderliness, she stiffened all of a sudden, she felt something in form of cold shivers lurking around her and soon took possession of her body. There was pitch black fog everywhere, Chan Juan could see nothing but complete darkness.
From the hallway, it came shimmering, Slowly it came into focus like an object looked at through a telescope, but this phantom was close, very close. At first it's whisper was like the soft susurration of the wind in the trees, then as the black mist became more clear, more sharply focused.
Chan Juan, all through couldn't speak, her glassy eyes feeding on so much terror that she wished miserably was a dream. Chan Juan began to run around aimlessly, it was all a dark, dead end. Chan Juan paused when she pictured two gaunt and soulless eyes approaching her.
Her heart skipped one..two..three beats, heavy sensation, tingling in chest; the closer it crept, the more chills it gave Chan Juan. The whisper became an eerie rasping voice, moaning, groaning.
Chan Juan bent on her knees and closed her ears with her little palms.
"Please... I beg you... Don't hurt me." That moment poor Chan Juan felt restless...
"Ah... finally my sacrifice has arrived..."
The voice from the black fog echoed through Chan Juan ears, then she felt someone touch her shoulder. Chan Juan let out a loud cry of incoherence.
"My goodness, are you okay Guo Daiyu?"
Lan Shang asked Chan Juan, scrutinizing her so hard.
Beads of sweats rolling down Chan Juan's forehead like oil spill; she felt numb as she lazily cleaned her forehead.
Images of the strange creature flashed severally in her head, no matter how she tries to picture it out, it all becomes blear.
"Oh... I am okay, I just erm got carried away." Chan Juan lied, Lan Shang smiled.
"I was passing by, and saw you, you were looking perplexed."
"It's nothing to be worried about ma'am."
Lan Shang exhaled a sigh of relief,
"Very well then, how's Old Hee? Did she finish up her medicine?" Lan Shang asked, Chan Juan nodded approvingly with a broad incandescent smile on her face.
"She gladly finished her medicine, and she's asleep now."
Lan Shang was amused with twinkling eyes,
"That's great news!" She exclaimed.
Chan Juan nodded, meanwhile she was looking for a means to avoid the convo and go chit chat a little with Guo Qiang. It's only a day already and she was already missing him badly, he was her only companion so you could actually not blame her.
"Well, I have to go take care of some things. I would have loved for you to come with me..." Lan Shang paused to observe Chan Juan.
On the outside; Chan Juan looked plain and was smiling naturally but on the Inside she was literally about to crash her head on the wall.
"But you must be tired, so I'll leave you to rest for now okay?" That instant Chan Juan's flaming heart was quenched, and nodded affirmingly.
She watched Lan Shang leave the sitting room, her was sleek and fluid like her beautiful smile.
Dexin Villa,
Guo Qiang was going to the living room, he walked passed the kitchen and suddenly stopped on his track. He was hearing audible conspiratory murmrs from the kitchen and the voice...the voice was Eu Meh's.
Guo Qiang edged towards the kitchen, for the reason of listening to her conversation; apparently it sounded suspicious.
"Bye, I'll call you later." That was all he could hear, Eu Meh looked like someone that was engaged in an immoral activity, she casted her eyes all over the place; to be sure that no one was watching and listening. To her greatest surprise, she saw Guo Qiang's tall and strapping body leaning against the entrance of the kitchen.
Eu Meh was rendered speechless that moment but was smart enough to cover up her fidgetiness.
