Chan Juan came out of the bathroom, hand-drying her wet hair with a towel, when she heard the gates open. She wasn't interested in that, but the black SUV that drove into the mansion. Could it be?
Peeping through the parallel space provided between the curtains, Chan Juan saw Guo Qiang came out of the car first, her eyes popped with joy, but later was ruined when she saw her Father, and her worst nightmare; Eu Meh.
Is there anything more disheartening for Chan Juan, other than seeing Eu Meh's face? Chan Juan sighed deeply and returned to drying her hair.
Inside the car, Dai Meng was applying make up on her face, with the help of a mirror standing on the dashboard before her. Ming Yue was losing it,
"Get that rubbish off my dashboard right now!" She flared up.
"Hey! Chill, I'm almost done, not like I'm chewing on your dashboard" Dai Meng rolled her eyes.
Dai Meng have been friends with Ming Yue since forever. During high school, Ming Yue never had anyone to associate with, except Dai Meng. Simply because, she was the only one who could put up with her excessively teed off personality.
Ming Yue hissed,
"You're definitely not to blame bitch, you know I hardly keep friends."
Dai Meng waved her hand,
"Whatever you say, you are just one pain in the ass." Dai Meng replied her in an 'I don't care..whatever' tone, while she arranged her cosmetics back into her bag.
Ming Yue smirked evilly, looking like she had schemed something in mind.
She accelerated the car, to about 220 km/h, Dai Meng's eyes popped out of it's sockets when she realized what her friend was trying to do.
"Ming Yue! What the hell are you doing? Do you want to kill us?" Dai Meng yelled, her expression was mixed up.
Ming Yue made an evil grin as she pressed her leg on the gas pedal.
"Next time, you watch what you say to me young lady." Ming Yue increased the speed, while Dai Meng held the seat for her dear life as she continued to scream out her lungs all through the ride.
Back at the Shao Mansion, Chan Juan sat in front of the dressing mirror, in her room. She gazed at the mirror for a while, she noticed the dark lines below her eyes. She barely had good sleep these day, Chan Juan immediately applied make up to that area, she wasn't a big fan of make up; little is the secret.
Now, she had no choice. She wouldn't want to stir up rumours in mouth of family members or outsiders. Come to think of it, it was a low key wedding; not too many family peeps were present at the wedding. Chan Juan wondered why, and the thoughts of the recent things she had began to see all of a sudden, and Guo Daiyu's disappearance.
And today, was her mother's death anniversary. Chan Juan pulled out the drawer from the dressing table and brought out the last existing photo of her mother, that she was in possession of. She gave it a long and watery stare, until a drop of her tear fell on the photo.
"I miss you so much mother, wish you were here. To get me through all this mess I am putting myself through."
Chan Juan muttered, and sniveled her snort.
"You are right though, I am dumb in a charming way." Chan Juan giggled at her words as she tried to hold back her tears.
"I am so sorry, I'll not be able to visit you today. Things seems so narrow for me presently."
Chan Juan sat back on the wooden arm chair, letting out a long, deep sigh. It was cut short by a sudden open of the door.
Chan Juan turned her head towards the door and saw Eu Meh.
Geez, why is she here? Chan Juan rebuked innerly.
Eu Meh motioned her lips in a smooth long curve, in form of a mocking smirk.
She sashayed towards her,
"I really need to remind you that, you're on borrowed time here. This isn't your rightful place Chan Juan, you seem too comfortable already." Eu Meh spoke.
Chan Juan was busy trying her best to ignore her taunts, and asked directly but rather in a cold way.
"Any news yet?"
Eu Meh rolled her eyes disappointedly, she had expected Chan Juan to flare up, but rather asked a useless question.
"No, and what right do you have to ask?" Eu Meh questioned back, it was quite an irritating one for Chan Juan.
She stood up from her seat, it was becoming too hot to sit on.
"Well, I have every right to ask, because you all put me in this mess because of her."
Chan Juan spoke as she tried to resist the immense fury rising inside of her. Eu Meh narrowed her eyes, and moved further towards Chan Juan, until she was few inches far from her. Chan Juan lowered her gaze immediately,
"You have no right to anything Chan Juan, you'll forever be a puppet."
Chan Juan curled her hand into a fist, her fury was taking control of her.
"For the last time, I am no one's puppet." Chan Juan gritted her teeth as she spoke. There was a short and chilly silence. Suddenly, Eu Meh let out a loud laugh,
"Hehe..." Then, an unexpected slap landed on Chan Juan's cheek.
