Chapter 5 - Her Horror.

The most part of her face was covered, so all he could see in sight was her cherry red lips slightly parted. He blinked and narrowed his eyes, and moved away from the window.

Shao Jinhai dressed his wedding robe, with one last look at the mirror, he left the room with a long sigh of grief. Sucking in a great amount of air to suppress his nervousness and strange anxiety, as he walked outside with a long train of people behind him.

Holding gifts in golden trays and covered with red silk clothes. He met his Father, Master Shao and his wife, Li Lou. Both dressed in traditional attires and standing at the long wooden patio, which was five feets above ground level. Two gigantic pillars, standing at each end.

Chan Juan felt a great heat rising in her with every step she took, like she would puke, but she had received earnest warnings from Eu Meh, a slight mistake and she's done for.

Chan Juan slightly lifted up her veil, and what she saw was sheer Haven. She had gotten the wrong perspective, this was a heavenly place, after admiring the surrounding for a short while, she pulled down the veil.

Under the veil, Chan Juan exhaled and inhaled deeply, she was feeling very uncomfortable with the Phoenix Coronet on her head, and the super heavy dress.

Chan Juan noticed that everyone had halted, there was a deafening silence, before the loud voice of a man echoed through.

"The bride has arrived!"

The groom family and everyone behind them bowed, tendering the gifts before their heads.

On the bride side, there was a long row of about twenty people behind her, who reciprocated the greeting mutually, with a bow. Eu Meh stood next to Chan Juan, she bent slightly and whispered.

"Act natural, don't ruin this" she whispered through closed teeth, her lips curved in a funny way as she spoke.

Chan Juan gulped, a bead of sweat trickling down from her temple. She managed to compose herself, she felt a cold breeze hit her the moment she crossed over the terrain.

It felt like it possessed her body that moment, she could barely lift her leg, she was hearing indistinct noises of what she couldn't fathom about. Immediately, it disappeared, Chan Juan developed nostalgia.

Guo Zhiqiang had a wide grin on his face as he stepped up to great Master Shao formally. Master Shao welcomed him with a manly handshake,

"I'm glad our families are about to bond together." Guo Zhiqiang spoke, with his chest high and smiling from ear to ear. Master Shao nodded.

"Let's proceed" he said ushering them in.

The Shao Family didn't want to make the wedding a loud affair, just on a low key. There is a reason to that, few of the X City inhabitants were aware of the curse looming around the family, it would still be better to keep the wedding on a low note.

The Guo family handing over their child to the Shao Family must have been an earnest and greedy trade that the poor bride wasn't aware of, but it seemed the other way in reality.

After exchanging rings and marriage vows in presence of the two families, the couple's proceeded to the Ancestral Hall, to pay respect to their ancestors and traditionally welcome the new bride.

On each side of the chamber, there were lines of people, both from the family of the bride and groom. All through Shao Jinhai's face was a as dark as night and frosty as ice.

Chan Juan simply had accepted fate, thanks to the veil she is able to hide her nervousness.

The couples bowed before the seven wooden tablets before them, symbolizing the Shao Family's ancestors.

Everything happened so fast, everyone has began to disperse to their various homes. Chan Juan was sitting next to Eu Meh, the veil was still over her head. Eu Meh crept closer to her,

"You, until we find Guo Daiyu, never utter a word about her disappearance!" Eu Meh whispered into her ears, Chan Juan gulped loudly and nodded.

Eu Meh comported immediately and smiled naturally while she pretended to dress her clothing, and left, Chan Juan scoffed.

After a short while, Chan Juan felt like there was a haze rising up in her head, everything before her turned foggy. She began to hear a distinct sounds in her head.

Chan Juan stood up, completely immersed in her little world of curiosity or rather possession of something mystical.

There was this overwhelming and shuddering fear looming around her sick bones as she walked towards the hallway.

Down the hallway, she was hearing things, strange sounds rattling bones, scurrying rats, hushed voices of something that sounded like her name...

And slow drip drip, drip coming from the spot she told herself wasn't really there. Red oozing stain from the ceiling above sliding down the wall. She raised up her veil which was hanging on the Phoenix Coronet she had on.

Chan Juan had no idea why she was still moving, like she wasn't the owner of her body anylonger. The door situated at the far end of hallway, opened slowly with so much creaky sound, immediately Chan Juan saw this, her hairs stood up at it's end.

Her heart was racing like never before, jabbing against her ribcage, she began to see shadows lurking around her. She tried to scream but it seemed like her tongue was tied to her patella.

There was a green light at the end, then the door shut suddenly. Chan Juan got her senses back and took on her heels, then the door at the other side shut too, leaving her in total darkness to feed on her horror.

She couldn't scream, it felt like her tongue had fallen into her throat.

Then a terrific face flashed before her, bloody teeth, wide and purely white eyes, with long and black hair, soaring high in air.

Chan Juan didn't know how she got the strength, her adrenaline rushed, causing her to scream so loud, it could possibly break glass. Then, she fainted.
