It was a very cold morning. Grey skies still lingered from the past day, but spirits were high. Kole woke up earlier before his friends, and he saw his brother sitting near the barn entrance.
Kole slowly walked towards Ice and whispered, "What are you doing?" Ice looked back at Kole and whispered, "Nothing. Wanna train with me?" Kole nodded and followed Ice to a frozen lake.
Ice said, "I want to try something... it's kinda like what you did yesterday, but less... hot." Kole said, "Oh ok! What I did was concentrate my power to my claws." Ice took a deep breath, and he said, "Ah! My paws feel a little colder..."
He went up to a a stump and scratched it. In an instant, the entire stump was covered in ice. "Wah! That's so cool!" Ice shouted. Kole ran over to Ice and said, "Perfect! Now-" Suddenly, everything froze. The falling snow, the subtle wind, and even Ice froze in place.
Kole was able to move around, but he was confused about the situation. He walked up to Ice and poked his face. Nothing happened.
Kole turned to see Mr. Nafario running towards him. "Oh thank goodness! I thought you didn't have the strength to withstand the curse." Mr. Nafario said as he sat down in front of Kole. "What curse? You mean everything is actually frozen!?"
Mr. Nafario nodded and said, "We have to find the spirit doing this." Mr. Nafario touched Kole's forehead and he went into spirit mode. Kole looked to his left, and he saw a little cheetah cub. His eyes widened and he shouted, "T-that's Penny!"
Mr. Nafario looked where Kole's nose was pointed and he gasped. "Did you not see her? And you have two spirits attached to you!" Kole said, "Ah. This is my stepdad and my real mother." Mr. Nafario sighed and said, "You're more like a Spirit Collecter than a Spirit Catcher."
Penny walked up to Kole and tapped his forehead. Then out of the blue, she hugged Kole. He hugged her back and said, "Hey sis. Can you undo this curse? If you did it, that is." Penny looked up at Kole and nodded. She then closed her eyes, and slowly, everything started moving again.
Then a jar appeared in Mr. Nafario's paws, and he caught Penny's soul. He quickly put the lid on the jar and said, "That's how you catch a soul Kole. Now when you meet a spirit once again, you must catch it for your, and this entire world's safety. Understand?"
Kole nodded and they both got out of spirit mode. Ice screamed and then he shouted, "I was frozen in place! I couldn't move a-and then I saw you and Mr. Nafario disappear! Then-" Ice kept rambling on and Kole walked him back to the barn."
In the barn, everyone had the same experience with the sudden freeze. Blacksmith came running to Kole and asked, "Hey! What happened? We were all frozen and-" Kole cut Blacksmith off and said, "It's alright Smith! There was a spirit that put a curse on everyone. Mr. Nafario and I caught her so she won't be doing that again."
Blacksmith sighed in relief, but then he shouted, "B-but we all saw something horrible! It looked like a demon!" Mr. Nafario said, "Whaat!? I thought demons were banished long ago!" He sat down and thought for a moment.
"We have to leave." Edward said as he made his way to Mr. Nafario and Kole. Mr. Nafario with a stern look on his face said, "You're right", Then he stood up and boldly announced, "Everyone! We're leaving!" Blaze, who just woke up, grumbled, "Grr... fine. But I'm not waking Lark or Forest up." And with that, he walked out of the barn.
It took a while, but everyone was ready to send Kole and his freinds off to the jungle. Ice stepped up to Mr. Nafario and Edward, and said, "I'm going with you guys! I've learned so much, and I want to learn more from Kole!" Red came from behind the crowd and said, "But Ice! We need you here!"
Ice was hesitant for a bit, but then he said, "It's ok Red. You and Elder Aphrodite have taken care of me all these years. I want to see the world with my brother now, but I will never ever forget you." Red burst into tears and said, "I... I'll never forget you either."
Ice looked back at Mr. Nafario and said, "Can I come, please?" Mr. Nafario said, "Well... the more the merrier! And Lark can teach you how to properly use water powers." Lark smacked Kole on the back of his head and whispered, "This is your fault you bafoon."
Soon, Kole, his freinds, and his long lost brother went off to their next destination.
