Melissa paced back and forth outside the hospital room, bit her nails from stress. As soon as the doctor walked out of the room she hurried to him.
Melissa: Is he alright?
Doctor: He passed out from cold and heavy drinking. If he drank more I'm afraid he would've been in danger cause of alcohol poisoning.
Melissa controlled her tears, "Can I see him?"
Doctor: yes you can, he is resting now.
Melissa: Thank you doctor.
Melissa walked inside the room. Matthew was sleeping soundly, bandages wrapped on his hand. Melissa walked to his bed and looked at his face, her eyes dull from crying. She caressed his hair which woke him up. Matthew's eyes fluttered and slowly opened. He tried to look carefully as the light was too bright.
Melissa's eyes got filled with tears when she saw Matthew woke up.
Melissa: Why are you so careless? Do you know how worried I was?
Matthew: I'm sorry...
Melissa: What if something happened to you!? You should've atleast called me!
Matthew: I wanted to stay alone...
Melissa: Cindy passed out today while coming home. She can get here anytime so we'll have to stop.
Matthew: What happened to her?
Melissa: She passed out from low bp moreover she was drenched from rain.
Matthew looked down in guilt.
Melissa: What happened between you-
Melissa was inturrepted when her phone rang, it was Cindy.
Cindy: What's the room number I'm here.
Melissa: 2nd floor, 202.
Cindy: Alright I'll be there.
Melissa hung up the phone and sighed.
Melissa: Tell me later, and I hope what happened today won't ever happen again.
Matthew: hmm

Owen: Grandma, where did mom, aunt Melly and Uncle Alex go?
Carla looked tensed but she managed herself.
Carla: They went out to visit your uncle Matthew.
Carla smiled softly trying not to scare them.
Owen: is uncle Matthew alright?
Owen said worriedly.
Carla: He is alright, he just wanted to see them.
Owen still didn't seem to buy it so Carla tried to divert his mind.
Carla: The dinner is ready!! Your mom said you love Chicken katsu, I've cooked it for you!
Owen: Wow! Grandma you're the best!

Cindy rushed into the room, Alex walked in right behind her. Melissa was peeling an apple as Matthew sulked cause he didn't like apple.
Cindy: WHAT THE F*** IS WRONG WITH YOU!?
Matthew's eyes widened from surprise seeing Cindy like this and Melissa burst into laugh.
Alex had no change of expression, it was nothing new for him.
Cindy calmed herself down 'be polite!'

Matthew murmured, "As if you care."
Cindy: I heard it.
Matthew pouted but soon his reaction changed when he saw Alex.
Matthew: Hello Mr.Alex, we didn't talk much. I'm Matthew, Cindy's friend.
Cindy almost forgot Alex was here and looked behind.
Alex: I know, nice to meet you.
The room got cold like their replies and fake smiles.
Melissa: Jeez stop it you two, give me a break already.
Cindy: Thank you for taking care of him Melly.
Melissa: No need hun, it's alright.
