Cindy looked at that direction and saw Matthew holding a girl. Matthew's eyes fell on Cindy and he stopped moving, his eyes widened from shock. Melissa looked at Matthew's expression and looked behind her, when she saw Cindy she quickly moved away her face.
Cindy walked toward Matthew but Matthew's assistant Charles bumped into her.
Charles: Oh sorry Miss Cindy, I didn't see you there.
Charles secretly gestured Matthew to push away Melissa. Seeing the signal Melissa quickly walked away.
Cindy looked at the girl walking away and felt something was familiar about her. To distract her Charles said, "Miss Cindy, Are you hurt somewhere?"
Cindy: huh? Oh.. no, I'm fine.
Cindy looked at that direction but the girl was soon gone. Matthew walked to her, "Wow, what are you doing at this time? You didn't go to work?"
Cindy:I did, I'm here for a work. I need your help.
Matthew: Let's go to my office, we'll talk there.
Matthew gave a charming smile but Cindy's mind was still on that girl as she wondered why she heard Melissa and how that girl seemed familiar.
Cindy: yeah.. sure.
Since childhood, Cindy had always been observant about people. It has always been both escaping and choosing death for her. Even right now she could notice the awkwardness in Matthew's smile as they got in the elevator. They all walked into Matthew's office, Cindy looked around thinking how much this place has changed since she came here last time.
Cindy: You renovated your office.
Matthew: Yeah, you like it.
Cindy: Hm, looks dope.
Matthew sat in his chair, "So.. what brings you here?"
Cindy: Well.. I got a new task, it's quite big for me.
Matthew: That's great! What is it?
Cindy: I got the chance to interview Emilia love! Yay!
Matthew: Wow! That's great!
Cindy: Now.. I need you to help me set an appointment with her.
Matthew: Consider it's done.
Matthew looked at his watch, "It's almost lunch time, let's go together. Then I'll drop you at YL records".
Cindy: Sounds great.
They both walked out to grab lunch, Cindy still couldn't get that girl out of her mind. She couldn't help it so she finally asked, "Who was that girl?"
Matthew stopped and looked at Cindy in surprise.
Cindy: What..?
Matthew: Nothing.. she was an old friend.
Cindy: Oh.
Matthew said teasingly, "Why? Are you jealous?"
Cindy: keep dreaming kiddo.
Matthew: Oh come on! Stop calling me a kid! I'm just 3 years younger than you!
Cindy: I used to curse when you sucked on your thumb kid.
Matthew: yeah right, if it was someone else I would've believed it.
Cindy pouted.
Cindy: Well I don't know, but I suddenly heard Melissa's voice today.
Matthew tried to keep his composure as Cindy observed his expression.
Matthew: you miss her a lot I see.
Cindy: I kinda do.. I'll call her in weekend to meet me.
