Chapter 34 - Why am I still alive?

Matthew and Cindy walked in the office, they were surprised seeing how different it was from surrounding. It was designed in traditional Japanese style with soothing koto*¹ music playing which made Cindy felt like she was in a Japanese tea party like she saw in Anime.

(Our fl is a secret Otaku which no one can know so shush)

There in the room by the window stood an average height woman wearing a kimono, her shiny black hair reached upto her hips. Seeing her aestheic and beauty Cindy got flustered and didn't know what to say.

In a high-pitched voice she cried out, "Konnichiwa Ojousama! Watashi wa Shindi Andāson desu! Hajimemashita gozaimasu!"*² and gave a 90° bow. Manager looked back instantly in surprise.

Well she could've just stayed quiet instead of coming out as an otaku in this manner because now Matthew was even more surprised as he looked at Cindy embarrassing herself.

Cindy kept thinking, 'why am I still alive?' while she was still in that position instead of looking up.

'I can spend rest of my life like this, I don't need to look at anyone, I've lost my face anyway!'

Meanwhile, Matthew thought, 'When did she learn Japanese? What is Shin did and a son? Is she talking about Owen?' Matthew looked at her in confusion.

The manager gave a soft laugh which made Cindy stiffen even more.

:Konnichiwa Andāson san, Ishikawa Ame desu, Yoroshikune onegaishimasu.*³

Cindy lightened up a bit and was elated that she could understand what Ame said. 'Watching anime instead of sleeping really paid off!!'

Ishikawa Ame: You can look up now Miss Anderson, we don't bow that long.

She kept a smile on her face as she talked.

Cindy: Gome— I mean sorry for behaving like this.

Ishikawa Ame: no it's alright. It's nice to find someone who knows Japanese.

Cindy smiled awkwardly as she thought, 'yeah...no..it's just I watch Anime and learned a little bit from there..'

Ishikawa turned to Matthew and greeted him with a bright smile, "Hello Mr.Smith, I'm very glad to finally meet you in person."

Matthew blushed seeing her smile, "kon—" he stopped and cleared his throat, "Hello Miss Ishikawa, nice to meet you."

Ishikawa Ame: Please take a seat, I'll prepare a soothing tea for you two.

Matthew: oh no.. it's not necessary..

Ishikawa Ame: please let me.

Matthew: As you wish then Miss.

Melissa: What brings you here today Mr.Davis?

Dylan Davis: hmm..won't even call me dad now?

Melissa: YOU'VE LOST THE RIGHT WAY LONG AGO!

Dylan Davis: This is no way how a child should behave with their parent. Seems like you got your mother's attitude.

Melissa: DON'T BLAME THE LADY FOR YOUR WICKED ACTIONS!

Dylan Davis: You still support the woman who left you when you were 6 while she kept a hidden illegitimate child away from your father? Don't forget, I raised you.
