Even though Cindy said goodnight, she was wide awake. Usually if she couldn't sleep she would work, but tonight her laptop wasn't with her. She checked if Mrs.Robinson is asleep, after confirming she slowly got up and went to the balcony for fresh air. She stretched her hands and took a deep breath 'Indeed the weather is nice tonight.'
Few lights were on in the buildings, for which moonlight was visible around the area. She got lost in thoughts while looking at the view and suddenly she heard the sliding door, 'did I disturb Aunt Carla?' Then she noticed it wasn't the sliding door of Mrs.Robinson. She looked to her right and saw Alex resting his hands on railing and looking downward.
She thought, 'maybe he didn't notice me, I'll just leave.' She was about to open the door when Alex called out.
Alex: wait..
Cindy stopped instantly and couldn't move. She cleared her throat and softly said "what?" So that Mrs.Robinson doesn't wake up. Alex was still looking downward then he asked.
Alex: wha..
He was hesitating to say it, Cindy looked at him with no expression. Alex gathered his courage and said it.
Alex: What happened last night?
Cindy was stunned. She didn't want to think about it nor talk about it.
Alex took a glance at her and saw her stunned face, he realized he did something wrong.
Alex: I'm sorry..
Cindy thought maybe he remembered what he did.
Alex: I'm sorry, if I did something wrong.
Cindy: it's okay, I don't want to talk about it.
Alex stood there silently.
After a moment Cindy said she will leave first then went back to sleep. Alex was still sleepless. No one knew that he had been an insomniac since they separated.
Alex: why do you think it is not hard for me.
Alex whispered. He took a deep sigh and looked at the sky.
Next morning Cindy woke up with a screech.
Cindy: IT'S ALREADY 10AM OLIVIA OWEN WAKE UP YOU GOT SCHOOL!!!
When she saw Mrs.Robinson sitting in front of her mirror she remembered where she was.
Mrs.Robinson laughed saying, " its sounded like you were shouting at your kids to get ready for school."
Cindy thought did she realize it? To cover it up Cindy made up a story.
Cindy: I dreamt I had kids and I was getting them dressed for school...
Mrs.Robinson: so you want to name your kids Olivia and Owen, good choice.
She smiled lively but still Cindy felt like she knew something.
As soon as she woke up, her phone rang.
It was Matthew.
Cindy: Hey..
Matthew: I'm coming to pick you up get ready. You promised your kids you'll be at home before they woke up, now they are mad at me that I didn't go to pick you up.
Cindy chuckled, "I'm sorry, I'll get ready."
Matthew: okay love you
Cindy:wha-
He cut the call when Cindy tried to object.
Cindy whispered, "I'll handle it later."
Mrs.Robinson: someone's coming to pick you up?
Cindy: yeah I gotta get ready first!
Mrs.Robinson: not before you finish your breakfast!
Cindy: uggh okay!
Cindy sulked like a little girl which reminded Mrs.Robinson of the time when Cindy was still a child.
