When Lucem sets out to look for the sorceress, he already knows he is too late.
It is a premonition. A feeling. He gets it often and it serves as a warning to him, but this time, it comes too late. He knows because he can't hear her, can't hear the white noise. He calls out to her and all that returns to him is silence.
He hopes he is wrong. He can be. No one says Mindbenders would always be right. Seers, on the other hand, have much better predictions through their visions of the past and future, but they don't always see what they want to see, when they want to see. It has been a while since Tao had a look into the near future β the last time was before the guardians raised the Sanctum, which Lucem had been foolish enough to ignore. He doesn't have any more visions after that, which frustrates them all.
"Lucem."
He breaks away from his thoughts. Lay is looking at him, concerned. "We'll find her."
