Chapter 46 - I fell asleep!?!?!?!!!???

"You should definitely leave." Stella said with a worried expression.

Darwin frowned and said, "So that's it! Now that you're fed and your wounds are dressed, you no longer need me!?!? Huh? You really have a heart of stone."

Stella said as she pushed him towards the trap door, "Go. You need to be in the living room when they come back. Go!!"

Darwin, still not understanding what was happening, descended.

Stella's face appeared as she said, "You're a nice guy. Open up to people more." and then she closed the trapdoor.

Just as Darwin was wondering what the hell was wrong with this girl, he heard a faint sound of an engine and immediately ran down the stairs.

Sure enough, Darwin only had time to arrange his books making it look like he was studying when Susan and Derek entered the room. Darwin internally complimented Stella, if she had not pushed him out, his mother would have gotten suspicious.

In the attic...

Stella pulled on the large sweater and lied down on the floor. Due to her stomach being full and the injuries being all bandaged up, Stella slept soundly with a smile on her face.

"And then, you know, Darwin...." Stella stopped mid-sentence as she felt the weight on her back increase.

"Umm.... Simon? Simon?" She called out to him a few times before turning her head slightly to look at Simon's face which was resting on her shoulder.

Stella exclaimed when she caught sight of it.

He had fallen asleep! Simon had actually fallen asleep listening to her!!!

Stella sighed as she looked up at the moon, "These vampires! Try all I might, I really won't be able to understand them."

Simon groggily opened his eyes the next morning to the rays of the sun hitting his face directly from the open window. He gave a cry of pain, immediately sat up and retreated away from the sunlight.

Hearing his cry, Stella, who had been lying upside down on the sofa on the other side of the room, her feet resting up on the wall behind the sofa and head hanging down from the other end, hair sprawled on the floor, and doing something very intently on her phone, looked up.

She said, "Hey. Good morning. Did you sleep well?"

Simon, whose mind had now cleared after the pain from the sunlight had subsided, opened his eyes in horror, "Sleep? I fell asleep!?!?"

Stella went back to her phone, "There's a medicine for burns on the bedside table."

Simon stood up, careful to avoid the sunlight, and picked up the medicine. As he was enjoying it's sensation on his skin, Simon exclaimed, "You left this here purposely!! You knew I would burn myself before I woke up!!!!"

Stella frowned upon hearing his accusing tone. She snapped, "Well very sorry that the only thing I did for a person who lied to me was to climb down from the roof to the window with him on my back. Very sorry that I laid him on my bed, and slept on the sofa myself! Very sorry I left some medicine for him just because I couldn't move the bed away!"

Stella huffed and went back to her phone.
