Simon frowned and stared at Stella as he got up. There were so many mysteries around this girl, and she did not even seem to know about them herself.
How could she move at such an inhumane speed? How could she climb, being so injured, with him on her back? No matter how strong, this was still a feat impossible for any human girl of her height and weight.
Simon shook his head. Just who was Stella McCartney?
Two months had passed since Stella had seen Den last. The day also marked two months since Stella had gotten any new injuries.
Stella looked back at the cottage as she came out of the door. She had already been quite some time here, the cottage had really begun to feel like home, and Allen, June and Simon had begun to feel almost like family.
Stella shivered as she stared at Den's window, "It's dangerous staying here for too long. I really might get attached too much."
Stella thought as she climbed on the motorbike standing a little ways from the cottage and put on the helmet.
It was a mountain bike gifted to her by June and Allen. "Another thing I will have to pay them back for." Stella sighed as she kicked the bike to a start and maneuvered with ease the forest road that she had come to be so familiar with.
Though the bike had been a gift, she had been in desperate need for it. She had to have a means of traveling when she was well enough, and she could of course not run around like June, Allen or Simon. It would take her the whole day just to go to the city for shopping. June and Allen had bought this bike after making her promise that she would never go back to Swans, and she had no desire to, the Zukao brothers were probably still there.
As Stella was riding with her thoughts, a voice suddenly spoke from beside her, "These things are slow. Aren't they?"
Stella was so unnerved that the bike danced for some way before she hit the brakes, and it came to a stop with a screech.
She turned around and yelled, "Do you have to do that every single time!?!?!?"
"One would think you would be used to it by now." Allen said as he came into view, every inch of his skin covered up, and not seeming to mind that it was just the hottest day yet.
Stella snapped, "I doubt anyone would get used to people to talking when they are riding at 60 km/hr alone!!!"
Allen chuckled, "Normal people won't. But you are an oddball. I think we established it long ago."
Stella huffed as she kicked the bike to life again and sped off, Allen easily matching her speed. He said, "That's why I wanted to get a car. Easier to talk."
"Too difficult to drive. And too slow." Stella thought. Making sure that her mind was open like a book so that Simon could read her thoughts.
Allen: "Focus on driving. Making your mind open enough to read takes a lot of effort."
Stella gradually decreased the speed of the bike and hit the brakes. That was true.
