The two sat in silence for some time, Simon enjoying the warmth Stella provided and the latter deep in thought.
"Hey, would you like to hear my story?" Stella abruptly asked.
"Huh? You'll tell me?" Simon was a bit taken aback.
Stella nodded, "You wanted to know, right?"
In response, Simon tried to move away in a more appropriate position for listening. Sensing his reluctance, Stella chimed in, "You can hear it like this only. Eye contact is no requisite, you know?"
"You sure?" Simon was a bit timid.
Stella rolled her eyes, "You don't have to sound like I will bite you anytime. Though if any biting is done, I doubt it will come from me." She laughed as she said this, but Simon only smiled half-heartedly.
"Okay, okay. I won't joke about this." Saying this Stella pouted.
Simon chuckled, "Such a kid. How about the story then?"
Stella snuggled closer to Simon. Though his chest was a bit too cold for her liking, it made a comfortable pillow. She started, "Like I told you, my mother....Wait wait. I'm starting it all wrong. I'll do it right this time." Stella talked to herself before she fixed her gaze at the moon and started.
Maria Espana was the name of Stella's mother. She was such a beautiful woman that any man who laid eyes on her would instantly fall in love with the beautiful golden hair like a waterfall, amber eyes that seemed to contain oceans of love, and the heavenly angelic face.
But this angelic woman fell in love with an awkward, blue eyed boy with bushy, unmanageable hair, named Bart McCartney. Maria loved to spend time with the simple minded Bart, who didn't love her for her outer beauty, he would always tell her that he would continue to love her even if someday her beauty was destroyed, and Maria believed him. Because he was also the most beautiful boy from outside and the most pure hearted from inside that she had ever seen.
The two had some difficulties, but they overcame them together and finally Bart started a business which made him rich and the two got married.
Maria gave birth to a beautiful baby girl with Bart's bushy hair. They named her Stella.
Their story was a complete fairy tale and it would have been so nice to say that they lived happily ever after, but alas, that did not happen.
There had been some complications during Stella's birth, Maria had insisted on giving birth at home, and this led to her death a few days later.
Bart took everything on his shoulder, taking care of the little girl, and managing his business. He would have been very happy with only the two of them, little Stella that looked like a little copy of Maria save the hair, and him, a loving father.
But, as little Stella grew, she became more and more difficult for Bart to handle alone. The girl became very disobedient and would never listen to anything he said, even at the small age of five. Bart blamed himself for Stella's behaviour, convincing himself that it was because she wasn't getting enough love.
Finally, Stella's behaviour and Bart's worry about her future led him to do something that he never would even have thought of, Bart remarried.
