Kloe's POV
Julia and I have been flying forever. And I have no idea where we're even going. I asked her to take me to somewhere close with shelter and we've been flying around for as long as I can remember.
"We're lost aren't we?" I confronted her
"That would be yes." She responded, scanning the ground
"Just find somewhere we can rest or something. It shouldn't be that hard."
"I spot a cave. Maybe we can rest there."
We lowered out of the air to the entrance of the cave. It was dark, unsurprisingly.
"This should be good." I said, "can you make a fire or something?"
She nodded her head before gesturing her hand in facing the corner. When she did so, a campfire appeared. Guess I should've expected a move like that from a genie.
Not too long after sitting down, I noticed darkness seeping along the walls of the cave with the corner of my eye. When I turned my attention to it, the darkness started to take shape.
"Julia..?" I called her attention
The darkness now had the form of a 3 dimensional shadow.
I sprung up to my feet, ready for a fight. The shadow shot a ball of darkness towards Julia. I wasn't fast enough to save her. Julia got hit by the ball and got thrown over to the ground.
Now on the ground, my stomach was cramping in pain.
"Julia?! Are you alright?!"
"I'm fine." She barely muttered
I glared at the shadow, now filled with rage. I clasped my hands, channeling energy into them, then swiftly separated them. The result from that was a great flash of light.
When I could finally see again, the shadow was gone; which would make sense.
"Julia, I think we need to leave, now. It's not safe here."
"I agree."
"Anywhere in mind?"
"We could go to The Cockpit Mountains"
"More mountains Julia? Seriously?"
"The Cockpit Mountains are a safe haven for supernaturals such as us. There are multiple Villages there. And the mountains are protected by a magic seal that only let supernaturals in."
"Ok well..what are we waiting for? Let's go."
Julia formed a map from the palm of her hand.
"What's this?" I questioned, opening the map
"It's a magical map."
"Ok..well what's that glowing dot?"
"That's you." She then pointed to where the Cockpit Mountains were, "That's where we need to go."
"Ok. Just go back into the lantern. I'll carry you."
With hesitation she followed my orders.
I was in a hurry to leave and was irritated as well; the Cockpit Country was on the other side of the map.
~~~~~~~
After not too long of dreadful flying, I ran out of energy and descended to the ground. After that I had to start walking.
I walked from dusk to dawn, and eventually I had to rest.
~~~~~~~
When I woke up in my poorly put together bed of leaves, I left out immediately. Later that day, I started to get hungry, something I'd completely forgotten about.
I spent a lot of time scouring the place for food. I finally found a strawberry bush. I've never been a big fan of strawberries, but at that point I couldn't care less.
~~~~~~~
Fast forwarding three more days to save you the trouble, I finally step foot on the summit of the peak. And that's as far as the map helped. Now it was just to wander around the mountains looking for a village. And hopefully someone there can help Julia.
3rd Person Narrative
Stalking closely behind Kloe, had been a young man with a very peculiar book strapped to his waist.
He gracefully jumped from branch to branch, travelling tree to tree, following her for the whole journey.
When he noticed the Kloe had taken a brief rest, he took the opportunity to take the book from it's buckle. He opened the book and turned to a page that had the picture of a golem on it. He then proceeded to read from the page.
"Legend has it that golems used to roam the plains of the earth. Now, being of rock and stone, Rise! And carry out my will."
When he uttered those words the ground started shaking. Rocks and boulders around the area assembled together and formed a 10 foot tall golem.
The creature roared at Kloe, causing her to scream and tremble.
With no more energy reserved from the long journey, Kloe was unable to run or fight back.
Kloe's POV
After everything I've gone through to get here, this giant rock monster is going to end everything. I had no energy to run. And my powers just wouldn't work.
The monster raised it's left fist and swung it after me. With nothing left to do, I accepted my fate. I clenched onto the lamp as a means to protect it from bring destroyed. It was the least I could do.
My life and the choices I've made flashed before my eyes. My parents, how they treated me, how I basically ran away from home, everything.
But before the rock monster could hit me, a guy with smooth, blonde, dreamy hair jumped infront of me in a blocking position. Weirdly he had what looked like crystals growing out of his hands. The crystals completely encased his hands and lower arms.
When the rock monster's hand hit them, it crumbled into pebbles and slightly large rocks.
The person that saved me then stood up and glared at me, as if admiring me, and gave me a smile before turning back to the monster. He then slammed his palms to the ground and immediately tall and thick crystal spikes came out of the ground from the point of impact to the monster. The crystals destroyed the monster on impact and split it into a thousand pieces.
I think that after everything my brain just needed rest, because when my saviour turned to look at me, everything quickly faded to black. Before I completely went out, I felt myself caught in his arms.
