3rd Person Narrative
The young man stopped at a page with the picture of an Ogre and read the text from it. Then he read from a page that had the picture of goblins.
The trees started shaking. An army of Ogres and Goblins rushed from the forest and assaulted the village.
Kloe's POV
"Umm....look," James said, "We got off on the wrong foot. I'm James, Guardian of this village."
"Well, I'm Kloe and uh~~~" my reply was interrupted by a group of teenagers coming over; one of them was calling out James
"Oh boy" James murmured, scratching the back of his head. "Kloe, these are my friends, and my team. Guys, introduce yourselves."
"Power. Max Power."
"Aaron Breeze. Nice to meet you."
"Zach Marrow."
"I'm Lily Menosoda. And this is my twin brother, Dranzer."
"He doesn't talk much." Zach explained, "Or, at all for that matter."
"Ok. Yeah. And that's my team." James said.
"So James," began Zach, "this your new girlfriend?"
"She's not my girlfriend." he belted
"Yeah, we just met actually." I defend
Suddenly, the gate got broken down by a bunch of green monsters, big and small.
"Catch ya later baby!" Said Zach to Kloe.
James reacted quickly to the attack, and started giving orders as if it was instinct.
"Max! You and I are on offense! Aaron! You're on defense! Zach! Lily! You two are on rescue! Dranzer! Just pick a team and go!" he instructed.
I felt useless in a way, because I didn't exactly know how to use my powers.
Max's POV
I can't help but be suspicious about that new girl James brought here. But nevermind that now; I got a bunch of green monsters to pummel.
As usual, I'm on offense. Oh, well. Time for these muscles to EXPAND!
As I said the word 'expand', all my muscles, my biceps, my triceps, my quads, my hamstrings, the whole works, they all increased in size.
I launched myself into the air using my enhanced leg muscles. I then landed on some of the big green guys. The rest of the the team can take the little ones.
"RRAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!" I went as I took out my rage on these creatures of unknown origin.
Ewwww. Green goo started coming out of them. I was looking for more big ones to fight but all the ones that I found had been pierced by crystals coming out of the ground.
Ugh! James is always stealing the spotlight!
Aaron's POV
James just finished giving the instructions. Of course, I'm on defense; my power's practically useless for attack!
I look over a bit to the right and see Max. Of course he's only taking out the big ones; he underestimates all beings smaller than him.
Well, it's up to me I guess. As some of the little ones approached me, I clenched my hand, almost like a fist but half way, so my palm was still exposed, I then drove it up and outwards. When I did, spikes made of solid air pierced those little menaces right through the middle.
When they got pierced, they exploded green goo. This is sooo disgusting.
I reverted my attention to the wider area and noticed more of them getting into the village.
As I turned around to chase after them, I was greeted by my bestfriend coming to back me up.
"Dranzer!" I shouted in such relief that he chose to help me on defense.
He glanced over to me and gave me a smirk.
He managed to drive them back, with a little assistance from Zach, once they were far enough, he put up a forcefield around the village.
3rd Person Narrative
Back to the individual that was trailing Kloe.
The same voice as before spoke to him through the earpiece, "Mal, give me your status."
He pressed on his earpiece and replied "I need some more time. They're defenses are stronger than I thought."
"You've got ten minutes! Don't disappoint me!"
Mal was now irritated.
"So." He said, "You guys think that you can stop me? Try harder!"
He opened the book summoned more Ogres and goblins.
The newly summoned creatures went and began beating on Dranzer's forcefield.
Zach's POV
Rescue is my favorite! All the lives I get to save. All the girls I get to see. It's all great. I get to help people, then they wanna return the favor.
Ha! I know this village like the back of my hand. Ok let's see, who do I save first?
Ha! With my power to split one second into five seconds, I'll have enough time to save everyone!
I just love running! I don't know why people say I get hyperactive and easily sidetracked when I use my power; I just don't see it.
Any who, time to save those people.
First I ran and brought Lily to her healing center. When I was leaving I think that she was saying something but I didn't really hear since I was moving so fast. Oh well.
Next I went and brought my little brother to Lily's center. Too bad he didn't get to finish his drawing.
~~~~~~~
Ok. I think that's everyone. It's been about a full minute in real time, which is 5 minutes for me. I stopped running for a moment and turned around to see if I missed anybody, that's when I noticed that some of the green things were getting inside and destroying some of the huts. I also saw Dranzer trying to get them out, so I decided to help.
After that, he put up this forcefield thing around the village. I decided to recheck the entire village incase I missed anyone, and sure enough, I did. It was the Aurber family, their ability is to breath underwater. The entire family got injured by some of those little green things. I had to quickly bring them to Lily for healing.
I then went back to their hut and beat those little things to a pulp. After I did, they just exploded green goo. And let me just say, IT. WAS. DISGUSTING!!!
Lily's POV
Oh my gosh. The village is being attacked. What do I do? What do I do?
In the middle of my panicking, I suddenly arrived at my healing centre, followed by a gust of wind. I knew it was Zach. He does this all the time!
"I told you not to do that!" I shouted at him.
I don't even think he heard. Soon after that, one by one, people kept appearing in my centre. And I think Dranzer might have copied my power, because now I was seeing a giant forcefield around the village.
Eventually, Zach brought people who actually needed healing, it was the Aurber family. They looked like they had been bitten in areas around the calves and thighs.
First, I layed down the son on my healing bed and began the healing process. Next I did the mother, then the father.
Phew. That took a lot of energy out of me. I'm exhausted.
Kloe's POV
Ugh! I feel so useless! I want to help out, but, my powers won't work! What am I~
"Huh?" I questioned myself.
As I looked towards the point in which the creatures were coming from, I saw, standing on a tree branch overlooking the gate, a weird dude with some book in his hand. And I had a hunch that he was the one behind this behind this.
It came to me; if I want to help out, I have to apprehend whoever's behind it! Duh!
I had no time to think over what I was about to do. I sprinted off towards the gate, I ran through all that mayhem, and all that nasty green slime.
As I was a couple of feet away from the gate, he spotted me, and spared no time in getting out of my sight.
I was now even more determined to catch him. As soon as I exited the village, some light blue-purple forcefield formed around it. So there was no turning back now.
As I chased after someone I couldn't even see, I noticed some crushed leaves trailing along certain path.
I suddenly stopped, as I saw him standing about twelve meters away from me. I had no idea what to do.
"Wrong move little girl." He said. I saw him reading from the book, I couldn't hear what he was reading, but obviously it wasn't gonna be good.
Suddenly, the ground started shaking. Then, two of those giant rock thingys that I saw when I first met James came out of the ground.
One of them picked me up and squeezed me so tightly that it forced a very highpitched scream out of me.
When I thought that my insides would come out, there he was; my knight in shining armor.
"James!" I shouted in such relief.
I saw him run towards me in such urgency, with crystals encasing his lower arms and hands again.
He jumped into the air, and then hit the ground with his palms, then, just like last time, the crystals came out of the ground and destroyed the rock monsters.
As I fell out towards the ground, it was like time had slowed down. I knew he would save me, but there was still a sense of doubt.
I still had so much to do, so much left to see. The adventure was just starting; I can't die now. You might think that falling a couple of feet out of the air is no big deal, but might I remind you that I recently had my insides strained. My poor body can't take this now.
I closed my eyes and wished for the better.
I felt myself come to a stop, but not a dead stop, an alive stop. I opened my eyes, only to find myself in James' oh-so-comfortable arms. I stared into his eyes as he smiled at me.
He put me down and turned to the person that I was following.
Now the guy had a dragon beside him. That's right, you heard me, a dragon.
"You might have stopped me this time, but I will be back!" He said
He then vertically jumped onto the dragon while keeping his erect stature.
James then threw crystal shards after him, but he dodged them by an inch.
James' POV
Naturally, as team leader, I have to tell everyone else what to do.
Anyway, gotta let these things have it for attacking my village.
I formed crystals to encase my lower arms and hands.
Then I did multiple crystal spikes, (crystal spike is the move where I slam either palm to the ground, causing sharp crystals to erect from the ground in whatever direction I'm facing), so that did the job just fine.
I noticed this green substance coming out of them though, is that normal for them?
And of course, the conceited Max wouldn't fight the little ones because he underestimates all beings smaller than him. In that case, let's see what he does when I kill all the big ones.
I look over in Aaron's direction and saw him struggling with some of the little ones. So I threw crystal shards at some and he could handle it from there.
I then wondered if Kloe was ok; seeing as she doesn't have any powers. And guess who I saw running toward the gate? That's right, Kloe.
I wasted no time in pursuing her, but literally less than a second after I left the village, a forcefield got put up over it. Then I ambushed by more of those weird green creatures, both big and small.
I was too surrounded, I didn't want to but I'm gonna have to use my level-3; Crystal Cataclysm. I simultaneously slammed my two palms to the ground. A massive upheaval of tall sharp crystals came out of the ground and went in all directions.
I have now eliminated the creatures. But now I've been stalled from Kloe!
My instincts lead me to follow a trail of crushed leaves. Eventually, the leaves stopped. Suddenly, I heard this highpitched scream. It was right around the corner.
I saw Kloe in the hands of another golemn, there were two off them though. I took care of them using crystal spike, it worked but, now Kloe is falling out of the air.
I sprinted off in an effort to save her, almost a second later, I realized that my crystals were still encasing my hand. I quickly retracted the crystals and just in a nick of time, I caught Kloe.
I got lost in her eyes. I that moment, I completely forgot things pertaining to Violet, I felt free.
After a while, I put her down and looked over to my left. There was a suspicious guy with a book in his hand, I can only assume that he's the one behind this. And, you won't believe this but, he had a dragon on his left.
He jumped onto the dragon's back in a way that should only be achievable in movies. I threw crystal shards after him, but he dodged every single one.
I could see that Kloe was having internal pain, so I brought her to Lily for healing.
