Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

1

"Baby, I love you, I do but….. Maybe we shouldn't go to the most expensive place in town."  says hesitantly. He knew Eugene likes to spend money but, on this?

"Babe trust me, it will be so worth it." Eugene says, grabbing Justin's hand and leading him towards the restaurant. Justin hesitantly followed into the fancy building.

It's their second anniversary. They got together in 11th grade, and have been dating ever since. Justin loved Eugene, and Eugene loved him back.

As Justin cautiously followed Eugene into the building, Eugene walked like a pro. Like he goes here every Tuesday for tacos.

"Hey Janet, this is the person I was talking about," Eugene says to the reservations girl. She gasped and smiled at Justin, grabbing his hand to shake.

"He has talked a lot about you, you are a very lucky man!" Janet says excitedly, before walking up to Eugene next.

She whispers something to him, before going back to her place behind the desk. "Ok, here are your menus, a server will be with you shortly." She says smiling.

Justin follows Eugene to a booth in the corner, Eugene stepping aside so Justin can scoot into the seat first.

"Wow, what a gentleman," Justin says, sitting down in the seat. Eugene follows closely behind the smaller male, sitting across from him.

Eugene smiles at the boy, and Justin smiles back. "I get this is our anniversary but you could have just bought me the flower," Justin says shyly. "I'm not used to this rich-people stuff," Justin added, sitting back in his seat.

"Trust me, my love, today is special," Eugene says simply. A waiter quickly comes over, smiling at the couple.

"Hi, my name is Liam, I'll be your waiter today. What can I get for you?" The Waiter asks.

Justin picks up his menu to look at the drinks, can I get a Sprite, little ice please." Justin says, reading the item he wants out to the waiter. He writes it down before looking at Eugene.

"Oh, I called in earlier today for you guys to set up a 'Deluxe Arrangement'. Also water please." Eugene says, looking up at the Waiter. Liam nodded, looking at his notepad. He smiles before looking back at the secretive man.

"Oh yes, Mr. Miller. I understand." The waiter says before walking away from the table. "Eugene smiles to himself, before looking at his lover.

"Um, I don't see Deluxe Arrangement on the menu." Justin joked, curiosity taking over his body. The older boy only smiled, placing his hand over Justin's petite ones.

"Trust me, you'll love it," He whispers, grabbing Justin's small hand, gently kissing the smooth skin. Justin sighed, knowing he can't get the information out of his boyfriend.

"Fine," Justin says, letting the boy kiss his hand. "How much do you love me?" Justin says, still holding hands with Eugene.

Eugene smiles at the question, looking up at his lover. "I love you more than anyone. I would do anything for you. No, I wouldn't." He says, looking down at Justin.

On the other side of the table, Justin looked at his lover awestruck. "W-what?" He asks, tears beginning to form in his eyes. Eugene smiles at his lover, wiping the tears in his eyes.

"I would do everything for you," Eugene says softly. Smiling at the young boy. Justin smiles at him, walking to the other side of the table to hug Eugene.

"I love you. I love you so much." Justin says, crying into Eugene's shoulder. Though his voice was muffled by Eugene's jacket.

"Justincalm down, baby," Eugene says softly, rubbing circles on the boys back.

Soon after, Justin calmed down,  though his face was red. "You see, Justin says, hitting Eugene's shoulder lightly. Justin was still sitting on his knees, comfortable.

"Not, based on what you did yesterday, you suck," Eugene says, laughing at his.

Justin's eyes went as wide as disks, shocked at his lover's joke. Eugene chuckling, Justin glared at his boyfriends. "You'rere the worst. The literal worst."

Eugene laughed, looking down at his boyfriend. "Look you already on your knees," Eugene states, gesturing to the boy's positions.

Justinblushes, quickly changing his position in the seat. "If you keep doing this, I will break up with you," Justin says, though I ality, Justin never dreamed of breaking up with Eugene.

The waiter cleared his throat, the couple quickly turning around to see the waiter.

"How long were you there," Justin asks, hoping he didn't hear the comments Eugene made.

"Too long." The waiter says shivering. Justin hides his face in his lover's chest, hiding the blushing from the waiter.

"Um, but here are your drinks." He says, giving Justin his Sprite, and Eugene his water. "Thank you," Justin says, his voice still in his lover's chest.

The waiter walked away and Eugene tapped on Justin's shoulder. "He's gone, you can stop being embarrassed now,"  Eugene says jokingly.

Justin lifts his head slowly, glaring at Eugene. "We are not dating anymore," Justin says, pointing between him and Eugene.

Eugene rolls his eyes. Kissing his boyfriend's forehead. Justin open's the straw, sipping his drink as Eugene grabs his cup.

Though before he took a sip of the drink, he looked at Justin. Staring at his features. Justin must have noticed because he let go of his straw, looking at Eugene.

"What?" He asked looking back at his lover. "You're so perfect, did you know that?" Eugene says, seeming to be in a haze of thought. A light blush fell onto Justin's cheeks.

"Only, for the millionth time," Justin says softly. "Yeah, well I will say it how many times I have to."

Later That Night

As the waiter grabbed the plates, Justin looked over the dessert menu. "Baby stop," Eugene says, knowing Justin was obsessing over the prices. Though Justin didn't stop.

"Babe please," Eugene begs, lifting Justin's chin to look at the older male's green eyes. "Ok, I'm sorry, I'll stop," Justin says, dropping the menu prices.

The waiter walks back up to the couple, a smile on his face. "Ok, what do you want for dessert," Liam asked, rubbing his hands together.

"Um, Nothing/Cheesecake please." The couple says at the same time. Justin glared at his boyfriend. "Cheesecake, please," Eugene repeats himself.

The waiter nodded, looking at his notepad. "Strawberry, Normal, or Turtle?" He asks, looking at Eugene.

"Turtle?" Justin asks, confused at the weird name. "Turtle cheesecake is normal cheesecake with cookie crumbs and chocolate to make a turtle shell," Liam explains.

Justin nodded, somewhat understanding. "Can we have two slices of the Turtle Cheesecake?" Eugene says, smiling at Justin.

The waiter nodded, walking away from the pair. "I'm sorry, just whenever I and Angelica go ou-" Justin starts, but Eugene cuts him off.

"There is nothing to be sorry about. I'm sorry that I didn't let you get used to the 'rich people world'" Eugene joked. Justin nodded, taking Eugene's hand and holding it.

Justin snuggled up next to his date, the warmth making him smile.

Soon after, their waiter came back with the cheesecake. Leaving quickly after. Justin's cheesecake was different than Eugene's. It wasn't a big difference, but it was noticeable.

Justin's cake had a ring on top.

Justin looks at Eugene, shocked and confused. Eugene proceeded to grab the ring, walking out of the booth, and pulling Justin out with him. Justin looked up at him.

"Justin, you have been the love of my life since I first met you. I knew you were the one, the moment when my happiness lied in your smiles, not mine," He started, his eyes tearing up.

He grabbed Justin's hands and continued. "We we'll hand out like best friends, make love like soulmates, fight like enemies, and stay together like a family. I knew we were meant to be together when your happiness was worth more than mines." He continued.

He slowly leaned down on one knee, gasps coming around from other tables watching.

"I'm not about to make any promises, but the best is yet to come. And even though I can't promise that life will be heavenly all the time. There will be times that life will be hell...….but I promise we'll go through it together, always."

Tears start to fall from Justin's eyes as he looks down at his lover on one knee.

"The biggest problem in my life is that I have only one lifetime with you. So, will you be mine forever?" Eugene asks, looking up at Justin with hopeful eyes.

The room goes quiet, waiting for Justin's answer.

He slowly nods, quietly saying "yes.....yes. A million times yes!" Justin says as Eugene stands up to hug the boy.

They kiss as they have never kissed before, with passion and happiness. People at other tables clap and cheer, happy for the couple.

Present

Justin cried as he sat on the empty bed, looking at photos of him and Eugene together. He was looking in the photo album of their wedding.

He heard a knock on the door and he slowly opened it. Eugene. He was drunk as always, shoving Justin to let him in.

Justin did hesitantly, watching the drunk man slowly, carefully. He looked around the room before at Justin.

He walked up to Justin, slamming him against the wall. The young man tried to wiggle his way out of Eugene's grip, but he couldn't.

Eugene leans onto Justin, his mouth close to Justin's ear. "I loved you. Did you know that?" He says harshly, squeezing his grip harder, stopping the blood flow to Justin's hands.

"But now, all you are is a whore." He says dryly. He throws Justin onto the bed, Eugene taking off his shirt.

Justin scooted away from Eugene, trying to get away from the stronger male. Though, Eugene grabs Justin's legs, pulling him towards Justin.

He pulls Justin back, Eugene making it so he's in between his legs. "Leave me alone, please," Justin says, his voice is shaky. Though Eugene didn't.
