Jak waited for Drak to appear. Drak eyed Jak with that shotgun of his. The rest of the workshop had their pistols drawn and some even had their rifles pointed at Jak.
"You made a mess of the Skinners," he said. "Tell me, what stops us from pointing out that it was you who hunted them down?"
"I can slit your throats here."
Drak cocked the shotgun. "Are you sure about that?"
"I killed most of the Skinners near this area without detection. I had them stabbed, burned, and exploded yet none of them could found me. Most of them are demihumans, mutated humans with skin tougher than Kevlar. You think that you unprotected folks could take me down here?"
"Bastard!" a barrel popped. Jak raised his sheath. The bullet felt on the metal floor with a small clang. The pistol followed on the floor, now in fragments.
Drak neared the barrel of the shotgun in front of Jak's face. Jak stared down the barrel, to the iron sight, and on Drak's eyes.
"Do I have to kill more before you take me to Estrella?"
"You just wait."
"Is this the one that's been giving you a problem, Drak?"
Jak exhaled. He turned around and met gaze with the familiar woman who made his hair stand up. The air around the area grew cold. But the face of this woman changed as she looked at Jak.
"Oh my," she said baring her teeth. "What is someone like you doing in the under-city?"
"What's the Black Hand doing under the city?"
She placed her hand on her chainsword. "Ah, that voice, oh my, what a familiar hateful voice. Gotten tired of the surface, come here hiding and joining the Estrella, eh?"
"Do you know him, Yuki?"
"Aye," Yuki said. She waved her hair on her back. "Stand down you fools, if you think you can kill someone that could kill Etherian, then I doubt you are thinking straight." She said to the group. She turned her eyes back to Jak. "So, I heard that you go by the name Jak. I see. I am glad that I get to know you. I thought that it was surely a mistake that you would show up. Then, I look at you, then I know that it is you. I got footage of you before you wore that suit. Haven has a knack for taking care of footage, but there is always a piece that can be taken. Your Ghosts are efficient, made the Black Hand shat himself, and the recent things you've done have turned Haven into one powerful organization alive."
Jak stared. Yuki kneaded the pommel of her chainsword. The air around the workshop became frozen. The machinery around halted to a grinding stop.
"Hey!" Drak shouted. "The machines!"
"That thing you did to my neck. It helped me grow to the next layer of ether. I have to thank you for that, Jak. Then again, can you kill me without that suit of yours?"
"Do you want to try, Miss Yuki?"
"Miss, huh," she laughed. "I should kill you for shaming me that day. Then again, the benefit that came with it has been fascinating. Well, it was not personal, but you sparing me was unforgivable. I bet I can take you out here, Jak."
Jak's face didn't stir. In fact he looked at Yuki with the same expression. Jak could hide it. Hide it away that he was in front of Miss Yuki. She wouldn't know him other than their encounter in this world.
"Stand down, Drak," said Yuki. "I'll take him to Estrella."
"Is that wise?"
"Drak, this man can fight etherians and is good at it. I thought some rogue etherian is trying to prove himself to the Estrella, but seeing that you are here. I might as well have you be part of us."
"The Black Hand is now in bed with Estrella. Didn't think the Ghosts would put you down so hard."
"Whose fault it is?" she asked. "You came in and ruin things for the Black Hand. I do want to settle the score, but make no mistake. I am not that unreasonable. I have pride, Jak. But it doesn't mean that I can't control myself. That's why I am back to the first question. Why is the etherian killer trying to join the Estrella?"
"Do you expect something grand?" Jak smirked. "That I came here for the sake of Haven? No, I am here to get away from Haven for once. You understand what I did?"
"I do. Still, the Skinners are what you after?"
"Because they are a fucking plague. I just want to get rid of them before they can become cancer. If I am going to choose, then might as well choose the Estrella. At least they don't act like debauchees and produce something worth a damn."
"You just hate them."
"I do. That good enough?"
"Good enough, the uppers wants you brought. They always need a muscle and I think it's time that we rid of the pests around. Changes are coming to the Aured Under-Cities, and having you would interesting. I might have the chance to settle the score when they want me to."
Jak didn't reply. Jak followed Yuki out of the shop. There was a downpour that came from topside. The city could not contain the water and thus sometimes the under-city would receive this kind of underground rain.
"Ah, a few hours in and you have the city burning chaos. You are a storm, Jak. This is why they want to meet you so much."
"I was sure that you'd try to whip that chainsword of yours."
"I am tempted, but having you unfuck some of the things that you have caused might prove useful. One of the greatest asset of Have coming to work for Estrella. I don't know if you are lying or your hate for the Skinners is that much, but having someone like you can bring benefits to this city. Come, I'll have them talked your ears out, Jak."
Jak followed Yuki under the rain. He wrapped his fingers tightly around the hilt of his vibrant blade. He had it ready just in case Yuki tries to do something.
