Jakob Recker rested on the side of a floating vessel. It was one of the oldest type of flying ships that the world have created. Made to float with helium, pushed forward by propellers. His Ghost Suit was detecting all kinds of objects from all sides. Each object being logged into his suit. He had removed the remote recording and capture function of the suit.
It was useless to try and fool Olga so he did it so brazenly that it made Helga call him. "Fine," she replied to him.
Nonetheless, he hadn't returned to Haven. His problems with the Skinners had been solved because of the Ghost suit. The Skinners were known for their hiding spots, but unfortunately for them. He knew where they were with his knowledge of the life he lived before returning. Even the leader of the Skinners didn't expect he would find a Ghost decapitating him while he was eating in his favorite shop. He didn't have to help the Estrella after that.
So here he was in one of the oldest exploration vessel of humanity. Under him was the remains of the proud civilization of humanity before the fall. The patch of water on the landscape and the drowned buildings made it clear that there was a mega-city that once stood here.
Information from Aured City had made it so that they could not hide their connections to the bastions around the world. Even the seaside bastion city located south-east of them was the destination of this exploration ship loaded with cargoes and supplies for construction. From the satellite maps that was leaked to the world, it seems like Aured City has been making use of the four branched river to travel to the bastion cities.
From the databanks he had downloaded. The ship was traveling along the Wath County following a mountain ridge to avoid detection from the beluas that could snipe the airship from the ground. Most of the burg on the map was long gone and only the settlements on the coastline were able to survive.
What made him downtrodden from all of this information was that he had only remained south of Aured all the time, fighting in different counties. All that fighting and he stayed in only one country. He had never left home. In front of him was the sea of gray clouds. The helium airship had been travelling sixty knots, which was seventy miles away from Aured City. This travelling ship was sponsored by the wealthy business men of Aured. The world was about to be interconnected and all that it took for it to happen was the discovery of steelfort containing databanks and access to the satellite and sub-satellites. It was like a big joke that he couldn't even laughed at. To think that all that suffering could have been prevented by the discovery of the steelfort. That was all that it need for survivors of humanity to gather in hopes to restore the world.
As days passed he couldn't helped but imagine what the world of his past life would have been if they had access to the databanks. Even the state of the etherians in this world was far better than his last life. Maybe, he could pat himself on the shoulder for helping, but in the end all he felt was this aching regret scratching on his chest.
He could hear the world better. He could feel and see the world greater than ever. He could fight better. But he wished that he could have had this. The people that he could have saved. If he had the power before this, then could he have done something differently?
It was foolish trying to change the world truly. He had only helped those who could do it. He didn't believe that it was all him. If it was not for the dominos falling into place. He doubted that he could do it again. He didn't want to do it. He refused to act the same way after finishing off the Skinners. He removed the tumors that would affect the world. But he wasn't as naïve to think that there would be change. The Estrella would replace the Skinners, and even they would not stop with their exploitation of the people of the under-city. It might also cause anger for the demihumans who just lost a figure. They would have a martyr of the leader of the skinners if he didn't kill high-value targets after the leader died. He pulled the roots before they grow and made sure that Estrella would clean the remnants of the Skinners after he delivered the leader of the skinner's head to the boss of the Estrella.
There was nothing much to tell after that. He got out of the under-city using one of the trams and applied for a mission to the coasts of the Wath County. He had seen the seas once back in his past life. Not because he had the leisure to do so, but because the ship he piloted went down. Helga was pretty generous. He had been given upgrades for the suit. The suit could form from bracer he wore. Though most of the time he kept the suit, except for the mask turned off. Retracting the mask, Jakob felt the wind met his face.
North East of Aured City, was the settlement called Hateshil. It was one of the many outposts that have dug tunnels to survive. It was filled with Veteran Outriders who had left Aured City in hopes to seek out possible settlements. The availability of the satellite had connected the world. With their comms still working, this airship had decided to take the risk and approach the Outrider Outpost in hopes to the Outrider as extra forces. If they were going to appear on the seaside burg of Wesheap. Then they would need extra forces. Jakob had come here to provide bodyguard duty, but the person gazing at the sea of clouds was troubling. Yuki had come with him after he left the Under-city and followed him on this mission.
