Chapter 9 - We were supposed to

"These will be the outputs that I will expect at the end of the semester."

I am still in the classroom while listening to my Financial Management professor. Since the foundation day is drawing near, most teachers are giving projects and assignments ahead of time. We just had our exam, and we're all back in discussions.

Seated at the back, I was just busy writing and sketching some random stuff in my notebook. When the classes ended, everyone went on their own, and the room was then flooded with buzzes. We will still be using this room for our next subject by 3:00 PM, and it's still 2:30. We still have time to chat with friends.

I was just half-listening to my friends' conversation. They are all laughing about a joke that I can't even understand because my mind was preoccupied. I was in the middle of thinking when my phone rang, and I jolted from my seat from the shock.

"Girl! Easy!" Kataniya is now hysterically laughing because of my reaction. I just glared at her and checked the message on my phone.

"Andrea, can you please contact someone from the Sports Committee? Raven is planning to help buy for today, so you don't need to do it later."

It was Robert. Thank goodness Raven is going to help with buying the materials.

I went to type my reply.

"Sure, I'll text the sport managers as well so they can also help Raven. I'll just text Raven when somebody replies."

Raven is one of our committee members, and he's our procurement head. Most of the time, Raven's the one buying the materials for any school event that involves our committee. I also do come along with him when buying things so I can help him if he forgets something.

I took my notebook for contact records and scanned all the people I can message to help Raven. I mean, I can go with Raven, but that would mean I'll have to ditch my last subject. I can't do that because we only have limited absences allowed, and I, my friend, is no role model student.

I texted everyone who is on the list and included Raven's number so they can contact him directly.

After sending the messages, I dialed Raven's number.

"Ravie?"

"Yes, Andrea?"

"Did somebody from the Sports Committee contact you?"

"Oh yeah, there were two who texted me. We will be meeting later."

"Can you come here to my classroom for a sec? I have something to give you, so you'll have an easier time buying things."

"Okay, I'm on my way."

When I turned off the call, my friends were eyeing me with their brows raised.

"Girl? Who was that?" Casper was acting innocent with his hand covering his mouth. I just rolled my eyes and laughed. Ah, dear Lord, my friends are something.

"It's Raven. A member of our committee." I tried to discard the topic as much as I can. My friends keep intriguing me with boys when they all know I suck with them. Refer to Chapter 6, and you'll see me and boys don't work well.

I know that the last time I had a so-called boyfriend was a year ago. When I dated someone for three days.

"Baby girl, we're done with our thesis, so there's no reason for you not to go out with boys and have fun. Take Kataniya as an example?" Casper, without any hesitation, took a lollipop from his bag and licked it like a hoe that he is. We were laughing so hard with his joke.

My phone vibrated again, and I checked to find Raven's text.

"Drea, I'm outside."

Before I can even stand up, one of my classmates came in the door and almost announced it to the whole class.

"Andrea, someone is looking for you outside."

I looked at the door's direction, and Raven was standing on the doorway. I immediately stood up and grabbed Raven's hand so we can talk outside. I know my classmates are going to make stories again, and dear God, that's the last thing I want to happen. Because as cute Raven is, she also has a deadly girlfriend who's not afraid to snap your neck if you touch her man.

"I prepared you a list, and I also made sure to include some brands that I know so you'll have smooth shopping later."

"You're really the best, Ma." He jokingly gave the comment. Often, he would call me Ma every time my maternal instinct kicks. He then took the list and reviewed the things he needs to buy.

I waved goodbye when he left. And guess what? The moment I entered the room, my friends are seated as if they're ready to roast me on their made-up talk show. I just gave them the "What now?" look.

"Welcome to tonight with Casper and Kataniya. In tonight's episode, we will have a special guest. It's our very own Andrea Imogen!" Casper is acting as a host while Kataniya was making this clapping noise as the audience.

I chuckled at my friends' joke and had to scratch my head because I sometimes can't keep up how crazy they are.

Before I can get into some trouble with their games, Miss Fontani, our Ethics professor, came in.

After an hour and a half of discussion, we were ready to go home. Since it's my last class, I wast to go home to rest. Robert was not bugging me anyway, so I think it's okay.

I just opened my phone again to check on Raven.

"Ravie? Is everything okay?"

While waiting for his reply, we all went down the stairs. Our classroom is located on the third floor of the building.

"Casper, can we crash your house tonight?" Kataniya was not ready to go home. It's a hot afternoon, and it would be nice to soak in the pool. Casper has a swimming pool in their house and a big one to boot.

"How about this? Let's wait for my ride home. I'm also dying to enjoy the pool with friends. My Titas are out again to another country." Tita, if singular and Titas if plural, in my country, is what you call your Aunts. Casper is living with his cool Aunts who raised him ever since because his mother died in a car accident when he was little. They adore Casper like he's their own son. They are also one of the coolest Titas you can ever find. They always travel and sometimes throw crazy parties.

We were sitting on the bench near the gate while we wait for Casper's ride. Some days their chauffeur would get him, and on other days, when he's not feeling lazy on finding a place to park, he would bring his own car.

We were busy talking about what happened in our class earlier when my phone suddenly buzzed. I'm praying, please just don't let this be Robert because I want to relax for the rest of the day.

There were two messages.

"Ma, I bought everything already. It's all ready for this Saturday's event" - Raven.

I was about to reply to Raven's message when I noticed that the other text was from an unknown number.

I just opened it, in case it's an important one.

"I thought we were going together?"
