"Good after everyone, it's nice to see you all again. I'm Andrea, secretary for Logistic and Events Management, and I will be reviewing what transpired from the latest event we had."
I started the meeting and explained the meeting agenda. We talked about what went wrong during the events, and so far, everything went smoothly on our first day. While Robert continued the meeting, I wrote the minutes and was busy typing on my laptop. We then brainstormed how we can improve the children's experience in the program.
It went on for an hour before we had the meeting adjourned. Most of the participants had other sport club activities and practices, so they had to go out early. Robert also had another meeting with the student council, so he left.
I was erasing the writings on the board when someone cleared his throat.
"Shi-" as I turned around to find who was still staying behind.
I looked at him questioning, why he was still there, sitting like a King with his legs crossed, Dominic was grinning. It's the first time that moment where I noticed what he was wearing. I was too busy getting flustered earlier.
I admit he looks good in an unbuttoned black polo with his white undershirt peeking. His hair was smooth looking as ever, and it covered his forehead and his one eye as it's longer from the last time I met him.
Without saying anything, I turned my back and continued cleaning the board. Why is Dominic still here? I hid my face because I don't want to admit to the fact that I was happy he stayed.
"Do you need any help?" he asked. I said no by shaking my head. Before I can finish what I was doing, I could feel him standing behind me. Who would not? He was like almost one foot taller than me, and his figure cast a shadow upon me. And is that cologne? The musky smell wafted through my nostrils. Man! He smells nice.
Still avoiding his gaze, I turned to face him. Gosh, he's so tall that I had to look up just so I can talk and see his face. "It's fine. I'm done. Don't you have any classes later?"
Dominic let out a frustrated sigh as he went back to the chair he was sitting earlier.
"Do you remember the professor I told you about?" I looked at him with confusion.
"That one professor who would just show up once in a while if there's a test or a quiz, and then disappears after?" he continued. I nodded as I started to remember him telling me about this when we first had our conversation.
"Well, he'll be showing up for tonight's class, so I have to be present." He groaned at the image of him being present at his class.
Rolling my eyes, I said, "I doubt he'll even show up."
I sat on the chair adjacent to his, pouted my lips, and stuck my tongue out to tease him.
"Nah, it's been days since he last showed up, so I guess he'd really be there later."
"I bet you 50 pesos, he'll be absent later." I confidently replied. He cackled from my remarks and asked in disbelief.
"50 what?"
Pesos is the currency of my country, and 50 pesos would have one dollar as equivalent, depending on the current monetary exchange. What? I'm cheap, don't blame me.
Dominic pursed his lips as if in deep thoughts. "How could you say he'd be absent later?"
I waved my hands on the air and claimed, "I'm a psychic."
His brows furrowed, wondering if I was telling the truth or just bullshiting him. I snorted a laugh seeing him in deep thought. Tell me, if you were him, would you believe me if I had a psychic power?
I stared at him as I rested my elbows on the table. "What time is your class later?"
"7:00 in the evening." Ugh! I hate those types of classes where you have to wait for a couple of hours to have your final subject. That just sucks sometimes. These are the classes I end up ditching because I just want to go home already. Good thing that I don't have those this semester.
"Well?" I stood up from where I was seated and walked over the couch where I had laid my bag.
"Well, what? And where are you going?" Dominic shifted from his seat as he followed me with his eyes.
"Well, good luck. And I'm going home." I picked my bag as I wave at him.
"If he doesn't show up in class, you owe me dinner." I don't know where I got the confidence, but did I just ask him out? Before I could embarrass myself further, I went out of the office.
Did I, Imogen, just ask somebody out for dinner? I shook my head to remove the thought and walk down the stairs of the building.
I just arrive at my apartment complex, and I just can't wait to lounge on my bed and rollover. I just had my sheets from the dry cleaning.
I went to the shower and took off my clothes. Before turning on the faucet, my reflection caught my attention.
My hair has grown a little from the last haircut that I got. It just reached my shoulders a little, and they are still as wavy as ever. My complexion has gone darker as I have been going quite a lot lately. Well, as if it bothers me.
After that refreshing bath, I jump into my favorite comfy pajamas. Ah, don't you just love the smell of newly washed sheets and pillowcases? I snuggled my pillow as I roll over my bed.
I laid down on my back as I stare at my ceiling. Dominic's smell still lingers and, honestly, is intoxicating.
The buzz from my phone suddenly startled me. Speak of the devil, Nic sent me a message. My heart rate suddenly spiked at the appearance of his name on my inbox.
Without thinking, I sat down right away. Forgetting I was very anemic sometimes, and these actions tend to bring me to the dark side. Just kidding! I do feel like everything turns black if I stand up or sit up immediately.
I stared at my phone for a good minute before I opened it.
"Where are you? :) please reply."
Are we on a demanding replies term now? I chuckled before sending my reply.
"Why?"
