It Takes Two - 2.2

Stace felt a bit guilty after what she had said that had caused Jay to fly away suddenly. This also had Keda worrying for Stace as he wrapped his arms around her. She felt his warm touch and lent her head back into his torso. Keda tightened his grip. For once Stace felt protected and loved, "I could stay like this forever." Stace whispered to Keda, leaning her head back further looking up at him. He bowed his head forward and kissed her lips with the slightest touch just enough for her to let out a passionate moan.

"Let's go for a run…" Keda suggested.

"Then we can go back to our cave and snuggle up" Stace finished. Keda growled lovingly.

As the night went on, the air grew colder. They cozied up a little closely and eventually fell asleep.

In the middle of the night, a loud bang was heard. Stace shot up to her feet causing Keda to be flung a few paces away from her. She walked just outside the entrance of her cave.

"What is it?" Keda asked, rubbing his hip.

"I heard something,"

"Whatever you heard, only an Alpha could hear from such great distance. It's been said that there is an alpha who is one of the greatest descendants. No other Alpha is like him, none has ever been gifted before like this before." Keda recited a prophecy from memory.

Stace stared at him then up into the starry night sky. As she was about to say something to Keda, she heard the bang again and saw a flash of light, it was getting closer. Keda couldn't see anything at first, he was aimlessly looking around him, when suddenly it appeared and seemed to be getting even closer still.

"Wh...What is that…?" Keda asked Stace, looking slightly worried.

"We can handle it Keda," Stace started to say, when she saw a group of figures walking, "Maybe if I call reinforcements, they may come in time" Stace quivered.

Keda didn't know what to say. He nodded hesitantly and howled in sync with Stace.

A young fella approached them cautiously, he stopped about three kilometres away when he heard the greyish wolf growl. The young fella stood and in slow-motion knelt down on the ground. Stace and Keda looked at one another then back at the young fella.

Stace and Keda were confused when they saw him hold his hand out in front of him. He was trying to say something to them, but they couldn't figure out what he had said. Just then Jay flew overhead. Jay saw what was going on and he knew immediately what the human was doing. Jay also noticed that Keda looked as though he was getting ready to attack. Jay had to do something. He swooped down to the ground and Keda pushed himself back. The young man fell backwards landing on his bottom. He pushed himself upright and stared up in awe.
