The Young Fellow
The young fellow stared up at the Red Kite and pushed himself back on to his feet, hoping to get a better look but the Kite would not stop circling above him. The young fellow unknowingly moved himself in sync with the Red Kite, momentarily forgetting about the wolves. By the time he stopped he noticed they were gone and shrugged his shoulders. He carried on following the Red Kite's motions.
The young fellow didn't realise the time until his phone started ringing. The ringing startled the Red Kite and it flew-away. The young fellow tried to call for it to come back.
"Wait…. Please…" The young fellow's head bowed down as the beautiful bird flew away and answered the phone. It was his mother telling him to come home.
"Tate, where are you? It's getting dark, come home!" his mother was almost shouting.
Tate ended the call without responding; he couldn't stop thinking about the Red Kite. Tate had returned daily, but the Red Kite never came back. However, Tate never gave up hope.
Tate was popular. He had many friends, but he felt like he didn't really belong. He tried to speak to his parents about it many times but he couldn't get the words out. Tate managed to write in his journal everything he felt, all his thoughts and fears were concealed within its walls. He finds the blank pages quite inspiring in a way, it has allowed him to explore beyond his imaginations. He wrote how he met the Red Kite.
