The table wobbles as Raylei vents his anger on it, "Darn it, dumb freak", Raylei rages on, "you just had to go die and bring me over to this wretched magical world, why couldn't you just sell the land off?"‚ he vents
"You just had to drink yourself to death"
Raylei was pretty cool headed just a moment ago thinking of how to pull some strings with his modern day knowledge. "Isn't it some primitive old geezers", he thought "humanity would be ashamed of me if I couldn't pull a trick or two over them". Just until crumbled pieces of shattered memories enough to let him get a view over the general society and culture forced their way over. After piecing bits of memories, Raylei came to the conclusion..
"This guy was a paranoid freak"
I mean‚ what else to be expected from a primitive dweller still why bring me into a mess you could easily wash by selling the land off to the right people‚ Raylei raged on. I just need a little bit of comparison to know that the best family was obviously..
"THE OKO FAMILY"
From the memories it was pretty clear that this world is a culltivation world, and though no one yet possessed the type of strength to shatter mountains and travel thousands of li in a single step«at least not in this village» they still used magic. In life people command power either through fear or respect but in this world the only commander of power was 'power itself, the strong made laws and the weak obeyed.
'Then the strong decided to remain strong
Forever
And Ever
Quite a noble goal, to think of it who wouldn't want their whole line of descendants to be great especially when you'd love long enough to see the kids of your great grand children. The only problem with this was "technically, the easiest, fastest way to get strong was if everyone else were weak".
So they did just that,
Cultivation techniques‚ 'hoarded. Acupoints to break through, 'hoarded. Better ways of using magic for greater effects, hoarded. Magic control practices, 'hoarded.
The law was if it could be hoarded, "Hoard it"
Although anyone could begin cultivation and get through the first two levels, the methods to go further than that were obviously having a good time in the bosom of nobility. There always existed brute force but nobility had to be smarter than that.
And they were
Any potential talent deemed with brute force potential was extended a hand in a gesture of goodwill...
Huh, goodwill
That's what they call it these days. Those who were helped break through were taught methods that would enable them be useful and cultivated up till the fourth level, presumably inferior techniques but what else was to be expected.
They were called "DIKE".
And were bestowed with the Noble jobs of protecting the 3rd level kids.
Now that all was settled Raylei could think of the most important thing in his life as of now 'how to use magic. It turned out whoever picked the memories to be handed over to him forgot the utilization of the most important thing in this world 'magic, just a quick look here and the most low key place to kinda get free lessons was
"The Dojo"
This seems like a night to spend on 'disguise plans.
I'll start in a couple of minutes
Or probably after a nice nap
.....
The next morning
"Ah, Good morning Raylei, want some steamed buns"
Huh?!!
"Oh hey, Raylei my boy come take some drinks with me
"I spent all night practicing my act, my impression, my disguise and everyone is going to do me like this"."What happened to the guy who spoke to no one and none to him", Raylei mimicks the body pacing which had turned near natural and wonders when it struck him,..
"Humph"
"Bootlickers"
If they think they would play the nice card and get advantage at this land they were most likely dreaming. He was too poor before to develop the land and actually make it useful so they didn't care but now that nobility decided to help him, they decided to hop on board and get relationship benefits on top of the original benefits
"With just a couple of buns, dream on"
The dojo was a place where old commoner stars relied on to earn money. The past best hunters, painters, crafters and more who were too old to continue their craft taught and were paid to teach, It was a loose institution jointly controlled by all the big families who played with it anyhow they pleased. Two second level guards were placed at the entrance for courtesy as no one really caused trouble there, there were no entering restrictions but the guards had turned it into a source of income charging 8 black coins per entry. While he would have easily afforded it earlier, the original owner of this body had drunk his money together with his soul leaving only 7 black coins, he was betting on one of the guards agreeing to accept a coin less. Raylei approaches the guards while stretching his hand into the makeshift pocket on his cloth and passing over the coin each in each hand,..
"Ah no need", the one who received 3 refuses to accept and shortly after a click is seen in the other guard's eye as he swiftly returns the money leaving Raylei shocked.
"Huh"
"What's up with all the shock today", Raylei couldn't help wondering, he could have sworn that these two were greedy fellas trying to maximize any single shred of profit, anyways he'd think about it later, there wasn't even enough money for him to protest. He walks inside the dojo and waltz to the beginner section at his memories where they'd practically just repeat everything until someone learnt magic manipulation, sensing or whatever and left the class. He leaned on the window and listened on, memorizing as the instructor said his words,..
"Close your eyes, feel the magic all over your body, try to move it towards your fingers, your feet and anywhere you feel it should be..... If you can do that leave and go over to the next class,
"After a couple of minutes no one moved" and the instructor repeated the same words, the instructor was no master at his field and probably just a lackey meant to repeat what most people could learn at home, only the kids of the busy parents actually attended this class, noticed Raylei as he moved on to the next class, where the instructor was in the midst of his lesson
".....do you understand, send the magic to your hand and keep it there,.... now shatter the bricks in front of you, next use your heads, then your legs,
"ouch, uhh, ahh"....
Raylei listens on then noticed the instructor staring at him obviously confused as most people entering tended to seek advice as other experts in the peak of their life didn't have the time for them, Raylei shrugs as he sees the resolute face on the teachers portraying "Do not waste my time", He walks out of the dojo feeling bad about the fact that he could not write down what he learnt, The simple ability of Reading and writing were too risky for commoners and those who could hid it as much as possible, counting however was an exception and people were taught how to write numbers as primary knowledge.
Raylei calms his mind as he enters his house and sits down to practice what he's learnt
