"Who is disturbing the welcoming ceremony?" Natasha with her short fuse chides.
"Another one? In the last few years, we seem to be getting more and more risk-takers." Scope evermore stated.
He couldn't believe such an interruption happening when he was an apprentice.
Penta arrived with his assortment of people before whispering a few words into Kaya's ear as he put them down.
"They apologize for interrupting," Penta said standing with Kaya and little Sana next to him.
He bowed politely and beside him two girls also bowed.
The trio behind them was dumbfounded and felt on the spot.
'The hell you mean we apologize!?'
Their screams went unheard.
"Aunt!?" Griss suddenly noticed who was standing on the platform.
"Griss, are you associated with these three?" Natasha asked a little annoyed at the interruption. Laurence was also watching his distant family member with a slight look.
'Well if it isn't one of the family descendants with the worst reputation. Briskflame lackey., hmph.'
Laurence Lorr, Faren's mother's side cousin's, brother and Elder of the Storm tribe was staring him down with slight contempt showing on his face.
Faren saw this from a distance and looked away. He wasn't a great Lorr with magnificent talent. His grandfather was the only reason he was even at the stage he was at. However, the family is ruthless at times, Faren's association with Griss was something everyone secretly hated as Briskflames and Lorr's had to feud at some points in history.
Karu was the only one with shining eyes.
He was staring down Elder Evermore as though he found his long lost lover. Of course, the Elder noticed but ever since he brought the kid to the tribe, he wouldn't leave the man alone. Thank you gifts, baked energetic pastries used with herbal ingredients, the late-night letters. Karu was in his blacklist for being incredibly clingy.
The Tribe chief looked at the new arrivals and smiled ever so slightly.
He felt the strength coming from a certain roachy emperor and was curious.
Before Griss had a chance to reply to his Aunt...
"No need to prolong the matter, big sis should forgive and we can continue the ceremony."
The new arrivals gasped while accompanying were shocked as well but they hid it well.
"Ohh," The tribe chief thought as he started stroking his beard.
"And just who in fires name are you?" Natasha replied with a raised brow and deadly stare in her eyes.
"Oh? Sis doesn't know me? Kaya and Sana watch, this is how you introduce yourself."
He walked forwards a few steps, however no matter how good he is at hiding it. His footsteps were heavy.
Natasha actually prepared herself for a second to throw a blaze as he approached with such heavy steps and she reacted from instinct, though discreet.
Penta luckily stopped 20 paces from her and smiled a toothy grin.
"Let me introduce my self, you may call me Honorable Brother,"
Kaya and Sana got black lines over their heads.
The new arrivals almost fell over.
The Elders were surprised at the sudden title, but most showed slight contempt. This whole situation was quite quick so very little time had passed but their patience was thinning.
Yet our Roachyness can not always hold himself back.
He threw a single but very unique black card that all the new & old blood saw.
Kazen was secretly snickering while Lynn was surprised at his arrival and the blatant showing off.
"He's the one that supposedly didn't show. Hmm."
Natasha suddenly had a few words whispered into her ears without anybody noticing.
She suddenly smiled and smiled a wicked smile.
Kaya and the dumbfounded trio suddenly felt a chill coming from Elder Natasha.
They all had one thought except for a little Sana that was just enjoying the drama her "bwutha" brings her.
'He is in trouble.'
It wasn't only them that noticed. The other Elders understood the change in her smile could only mean she can discipline. Meaning the chief gave the order.
Suddenly the usual normal procedures turned into a show. Some of the tribe apprentices from the area also started watching.
Natasha smiled and knew she could make a point now but she decided to look at his card first.
She was curious about this idiot considering he gave up his abilities for her to see, she would teach him regret.
Name: Penta
Affinities:
Darkness 75%
Nature 75%
Earth 85%
Spirit-85%
Metal-85%
'Five high mid-grade? what a talent hehe, but too bad you messed up and are late. Old man over there doesn't like latecomers.'
Natasha threw the card back with such force that it burst into flames halfway to his body.
Penta noticed this and his eyes opened wide in an instant.
He immediately reacted and pulled out his sword with the flat side facing the card.
To his back on the left and right his sisters were shocked and immediately got scared.
The scorching boost the card got, impacted Penta heavily but he only took two steps back.
Everyone was surprised but considering the weak force Natasha used, it was a surprise but not too bad.
Though any other person of normal constitution would of been sent flying or hurt severely.
"Oh it seems you have quite a sturdy body." Natasha praised but what she didn't expect was the 180° degree personality change.
"You... you broke my sword..." Penta was looking at his beloved sword shattered at the blade, with watery eyes he looked up and yelled
"I bought this as my first ever sword. It was to follow me for life! You cruel fate!" He nearly wept, a dork such as him didn't care about the fancy enchanted swords and expensive weapons. He never owned his very own sword. This sword was his first-ever love for swords and their journey was cut short by this woman. Of course, this woman was a damn Elder but Penta could care less about trivialities right now.
"What a pathetic sword to break so easily, here at the tribe we have much to be desired."
Before she even got to finish her piece.
Penta stood up after he gently placed his sword pieces into his sheath.
"You!" His eyes were very serious compared to before.
"What?" Natasha stared back as though a cat playing with a mouse.
"Fight me." He declared and this was when the entire plaza was silenced.
The string of two words, normal yet filled with presence silenced everyone and induced yet another smile from the tribe chief.
'What a unique kid.' The chief stared before he cleared his throat gathering everyone's attention.
"Why do you wish to fight an Elder of my Storm Tribe? " These were the very first words uttered by the chief since the welcome ceremony started.
Penta didn't even wait.
"Because if I am to call this My Storm Tribe, I cannot let the pain of my sword for life be forgotten... and so I can get her to pay me enough to get it repaired." Penta lowered his loud voice at those last words but everyone nearby heard and one of the Elders snapped.
H was about to beat this arrogant brat but the chief stopped it with whispered words.
"Oh, so you think just because you are a little strong, you can get me to pay you compensation for a trash sword?" Natasha started laughing the moment she finished those words.
"Can we?" Penta ignored Natasha which made some fire spark in her eyes. He was only staring at the tribe chief in the eyes but they were burning from staring but he didn't care.
'What willpower! He has been staring for 20 seconds already haha, a good batch this year.'
"Fine, it's not the usually accepted method and you were late but since Natasha wants to give you punishment, if you can hold on, I'll allow you to fight back.'
Everyone was surprised at the sudden change of attitude from their usual uptight Chief.
The Elders were just smiling while Lynn was worried and Kazen also wanted to see what the kid was made of.
"Let's move this to the dueling platform." The Chief said but immediately Penta got worried.
He knew exactly what he was doing. His thoughts weren't clouded by any feelings but the consequences of moving things to a fighting stage are not good.
He can't do anything crazy and had to walk a tight rope. He just wanted compensation and show off his talent to be recognized by the tribe honchos.
He wasn't ever planning on escalating things beyond this plaza.
He had shot himself in the foot.
Unfortunately for him, the situation can never be fully controlled.
-Dueling platform-
Standing in the middle of a stone ring covered with inscriptions adorning its side.
Penta was facing Natasha.
Around them, the recruiting Elders, the Chief, and the new arrivals, as well as the ever discreet apprentices of the tribe and a few passing Elders, were watching the sudden event.
"Ready?"Natasha asked with an evil grin as she was annoyed the chief made a show of this.
"Anytime sis," Penta said with a serious face and again all the new people at the event were speechless.
"Stop calling me that! Aren't you mad at me for breaking your first little sword?" Natasha said but soon looked grim as she understood her mistake with the words spoken.
Some female Elders had small unnoticeable giggles.
"I do want to fight. I do want my compensation but you are awfully wrong about my motives." Penta said with a calm face on while his porters and family were staring from the side.
"First, I want to fight because you broke something precious of mine so I want to vent.
Two, I want compensation because if you break something important to your honorable brother, he will want compensation from his sister. Simple."
The crowd started laughing and mocking this lunatic for thinking that a sister compliment would change the fierce and fiery Natasha.
"You sound demented you know?" Natasha spoke with shock at his relentless use of that dumb title.
"Fight!" Penta said as he approached Natasha with the speed that you would see from an average adult male.
She sneered at his pathetic display and immediately materialized a flaming whip.
Penta seeing someone properly use the energies was a first. He had beat everyone so far with the bare use of these energies. Considering his physique was so different he knew he had an advantage over his peers physically and was deadly fast.
He may act the idiot but he was far too well acquainted with his abilities except for the use of energy. He didn't do much beside learn to use it throughout his body like his "Nature's Evolution" dictated.
Seeing a physically threatening manifestation of flames appear shook him.
It shook him with joy at seeing such use of energy.
The unbelievableness of this world was finally showing its self to me. This energy and its use.
He only cared about finding out more about this. He may have gotten sidetracked but before he had become strong enough to join such an organization. He wasn't very much willing to do nothing so the daily hunts made sure he got his fill of energy and combat experience.
Natasha suddenly used the whip at the incoming Penta with unbelievably nimble gestures of the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder.
The whip turned into a fiery serpent of venomous speed. Natasha was still aware of her position and this talent that was Penta, however, beating him a little into submission was fine.
As the snake of fire aimed its strike towards Penta's back. He suddenly disappeared.
Natasha was surprised at the sudden disappearance and so was everyone but the few Elders suddenly only became more expectant of the recruit.
His speed was much more than what a normal peak apprentice can get.
Penta appeared behind Natasha with both hands out as though about to grab her.
Natasha however wasn't the easy prey. A flaming halo expelled Penta from her back.
"Damn it, woman, let me hug you! I deserve that much for you breaking my sword."
Penta mumbled while only Natasha heard.
Her flames suddenly exploded as her hair started floating above her neck with sparks of flames being birthed from each individual strand.
"You wretch" Natasha clearly took his joke the wrong way and started attacking more fiercely.
Penta being the man he knew he had to think of a way to get out of this predicament without looking foolish.
So he did the next best thing. He upped his speed and continued dodging Natasha's flame whip but its speed was increasing dramatically every second.
It was as though a slick combo that built more and more power and speed, the longer it continued.
Penta realized he was really in danger at that moment and couldn't prolong this.
So he simply stopped moving at the center of the ring.
