The alarm clock chimed as the sun rose in the east. It was a pretty normal day despite the screams of anguish and despair from the neighbors.
Laurens got a good look at himself in the mirror before leaving for school and man was he adorable! Laurens was one of those lucky people who had baby faces. Although Laurens was now 15 years-old, he looked like a 12 year-old kid with no acne.
Anyway, Laurens locked the door and made his way to school. He had a smile on his face and confidence that reached mountains. Today he planned to make friends, he was determined!
As Laurens opened the door to his classroom, everyone in the class was eyeing him. Laurens could feel the heavy tension that surrounded the class and the main cause was him. He felt awkward and tried to hide himself but he just looked like he was patheticly bumping into everything.
He settled himself in his seat and tried to relax despite the stares and glares he was getting. Lauren's put on a smilling facade to at least try to fool his classmates that he wasn't bothered by them so as to not seem disrespectful.
It worked on some people but as expected, not all of them were fooled. Lauren's had no idea what he did to recieve such dangerous and curious stares but judging by how sharp the atmosphere was today, his classmates didn't like it.
"So... dogs" Laurens facepalmed himself for such an awkward start of a conversation. Talking to others, especially strangers, was not his forte.
"I'm gonna be honest, why are you all glaring at me?" Laurens said as he stood up and faced everyone. His knees are weak and his palms are sweating profously but no one could tell because of his poker face.
"We don't know you" someone answered.
"How can you not? I just introduced myself yesterday, my name is literally carved on my chair! But I guess you were too busy fighting, weren't you?" Laurens replied and everybody immediately intensified their glares.
Laurens flinched in surprise, "Okay fine! I am Laurens Chrome, 15. I like strawberries and guys" Laurens blurted out but realised he said "guys" instead of "girls.
"I meant girls, definitely girls" he corrected gulping down his saliva.
Some snorted in laughter and some didn't even try to hide their laughs. Laurens blushed in embarrasment and tried hidding himself inside his jacket which looked very adorable.
"Relax, we're just messin' with you" the guy behind Laurens' seat said as he patted Laurens' arm.
The atmosphere of the room returned back to normal and Laurens finally breathed easy. Everyone went back to their seats and resumed their business.
"I'm Jace Lancer, nice to meet you, Laurens" He greeted normally, but Laurens was a bit cautious due to the trauma he suffered yesterday.
"Is this type of thing normal? Cause I almost died" Laurens asked in confusion and fear. His blood was rushing really fast.
"It only happens when a new student arrives, so yeah, I guess it's normal" Jace carefreely replied.
"Really? Well then, I will leave my body to you, kind sir" Laurens muttered before loosing consciousness.
The stress he underwent had taken a toll on his mind, and as a response Laurens' brain forcefully shut his body down. In short, he fainted.
The last thing Laurens saw was Jace's surprised face looking at his falling body and then everything went black. Laurens had always been weak since he was young, although he became better as he got older, he is still quite weak.
After an hour or so, Laurens started regaining his consciousness. He looked around and could easily tell he was inside a clinic, so the typical line "where am I?" is not needed here.
Beside Laurens was Jace, he was nodding off on a chair with his arms crossed. He looked cool and very protagonist-y.
"Jace, wake up" Laurens said as he slapped Jace's knee weakly.
Jace took a peek at Laurens but returned to sleeping.
"Jace, wake up. I need to go back to class" Laurens said again weakly.
"That's not happening, sweety. The nurse said to take half of the day off and assigned me to take care of you while she runs some errands" Jace nonchalantly replied.
"But I have to go back or else I'll miss the chance to make a friend" Laurens protested weakly in a half-awake state.
"Don't worry. Just rest up, I'm already your friend" Jace said as he shushed Laurens down like a baby.
