Chereads / My Lucky / Chapter 43 - Chapter 42

Chapter 43 - Chapter 42

"The star has him trapped!". Roma exclaimed. Taking a breathe through her mouth as Midira held onto her arm as if she was the one trapped by the star.

Afraid of the force and speed that the star held, they watched in horror as Lucky got pushed by the star's forces towards the mountain.

They both watched eagerly, not sure of what to expect to happen next but none batted their eyelids for a moment afraid to loose a moment of what would happen.

They both knew that the star was one compelling object that no one would ever fight against no matter how powerful they were.

That's why most powerful people got greedy and desired to hold the star's power so as that their power would multiply.

Like Ferlio who wanted that star for himself, for his greediness and selfish desires.

It was hated and loved at the same time due to what it could do.

No one dared to object about it's powers. It fell once every five hundred years and once it fell, another would be created and over the years, it'd strengthen itself, collecting energies before it fell in the earth from various outer space objects that no one knew. Perhaps it was just a myth that humans created in those fantasy books of theirs, but who would tell for sure?.

Not even Roma and Mirida knew where the star got it's powers from. The supernatural council knew better plus what was more important between knowing it's source of powers or knowing what it could do if it fell in the wrong hands?.

They both gasped in surprise.

"It hit him!". They both exclaimed in unison.

This wasn't good. Would the young phoenix survive the blow? The heat and the after effects of the star?.

They could do nothing but watch. Moreover, whatever they could do wouldn't have much effect. It wouldn't really help.

Ferlio approached Lucky. They were so sure, with the way Lucky looked, Ferlio would kill him.

Akaya was on the forest floor unconscious, she had stopped all the shaking and writhing in pain. At least she hadn't witnessed what had happened lest she'd have taken actions in her own hands by attacking Ferlio thus putting her life in danger.

For once, Roma was grateful that Akaya wasn't aware of what was happening. Deep down, she hoped that the young Phoenix would be able to eliminate the older Phoenix.

Lucky's comment about his name made him angry. No one had ever spoken about his name in such a manner.

His chest heaved up and down in anger before he launched forwards to attack Lucky by clawing him using his claws... it was high time he put them into good use after five hundred years of doing nothing.

Ferlio was forcefully pushed back, he hadn't even touched the kid.

He tried to balance himself using his wings by flapping them. He shook his head slightly so that he'd see clearly since the force of whatever pushed him back had put him in a small haze.

Not only had he been pushed away, he also felt as if he had been electrocuted. His body felt a little numb but he quickly recovered from it.

'The star is protecting him. I have to time after it has settled in him, he'll be weak and it'll be the perfect time to attack and take away what's mine'. Ferlio thought.

The star had to of course settle in Lucky. It was a powerful object but after an hour of possessing it's victim, it made them weak for several hours or even days depending with the strength or energy that one held.

Lucky felt ill. It was as if he was having typhoid fever because his whole body ached, he felt hot, he was sweaty and sticky everywhere.

He took in a deep shaky breathe. He moved his hand in the half torned kangaroo pockets of his now also torned out hoodie and getting a hold of the circular tube that made up his crossbow when it retracted.

"Well you're not as mighty as you say". Lucky remarked after realizing that the star of salvation had protected him from Ferlio's blow.

He'd take this chance and taunt him before attacking him. But how would he do that without a bow using a crossbow he didn't know how to use?.

"Are you taunting me boy? Just because you have the star now doesn't mean you'll be powerful forever!". Ferlio exclaimed knowing it to be false because if the boy kept the star forever, he'd be the most compelling being in the world.

Lucky could see that glint of mischief and hurt in the eyes of the bird. He managed out a small smile. He was recovering at least and soon before the bird would even think of attacking him, he'd be able to defend himself or even better, attack him first.

"I'll kill you then take what's mine. Do best and give me the star. I'll let you go unharmed!". Ferlio offered to which he knew it was a lie. He'd probably kill the boy after he got what he wanted.

If the boy was capable of having the star now, he was very well capable of getting the star later on, if he'd let him live. So he'd be wise enough to eliminate the younger male now.

But to think of it, if he waited for the boy to recover so as to take the star away, then as soon as the boy got better, he'd obviously come after him.

The best option was to kill the boy immediately before he recovered. The star was his and no one elses.

If he couldn't claw the boy now due to the protective forces of the star, then he could try attacking him in another way. He was a Phoenix after all and he could easily attack this little human boy who was now tangled in the supernatural stuff.

He straightened up in an upright position so that his claws were clearly visible by facing Lucky. He intended to form out a fire ball so that he'd incinerate the boy.

For the first time after five hundred years he would finally create a fireball and kill the imbecile.

Lucky felt a lot better though his temperature was still high. He didn't want the phoenix in front of him to know that he was getting better so that he'd take him by surprise.

Lucky knew Ferlio's intention and he was ready for whatever the phoenix had in store for him. He felt his druid powers rise strongly than it's usual. He knew it was the star taking effect and strengthening his powers.

Ferlio concentrated in his inner energy. He was trying to raise that core within him that formed that perfect heat for the fireball he needed.

Lucky knew what Ferlio was doing and he waited patiently for it to come.

He was ready for Ferlio's attack. It would be his first fireball attack after a hundred of years so it wouldn't have a strong impact or effect.

With a small groan of struggle, the little flame of orange yellow flames of fire appeared between his claws. As the flame of fire enlarged, it's color changed.. it was turning to grey!.

'Grey? Why grey?'. Lucky questioned himself inwardly. 'Is this phoenix that evil that the color of it's flame has changed?'.

Ferlio watched the flame grow larger. It had been such a long time that summoning his fireball was taking long. He needed a lot of training so as to get back in shape.

'The kid doesn't know about me so he'll obviously won't know why my fireballs and flames are taking long to grow'. Ferlio thought remembering earlier when the boy had said that he didn't know whom he was. He let go of his fireball sending it towards Lucky's direction, a gleam of happiness raising in his chest.

'He'll be roast meat within seconds'. Ferlio thought.

Like a bomb approaching him, Lucky had no fear. In his eyes he didn't see it as a fireball nor a flame but a ball of smoke approaching him.

It was now that Lucky realised that Ferlio's flame was not an actual flame but actual smoke.

'There is no fire without smoke. His fire core is no more filled fire due to the imprisonment he has been serving it's filled with smoke instead of fire. Is that even possible or is it just now that he has tried to activate it? Surely, he must have a little flame of actual flame in his fire core or jade if he still has one'. Lucky thought.

Ferlio moved back a little in shock.

It wouldn't be possible.

Lucky had dismissed off the so called grey flame within a second right in front of him.

Ferlio hadn't expected that the boy in front of him was capable of that. He looked at the supposed boy in front of him who was looking back at him with no fear.

Lucky's eyes were glowing purple.

How could have Ferlio forgotten the number one rule of the supernatural?...

Expect the unexpected!.
