Ferlio cawed in pain. His neck was his softest spot and it hurt a lot. A tear threatened to fall down but he quickly blinked it away refusing to yield up.
Crying would show a sense of weakness and he wasn't ready to show the boy such an emotion. He knew that the boy would take that advantage and finish him off but with the way things were going, if the boy continued to do this, he'd surely die.
His wings flapped wildly with struggle. He tried going about so as to shake Lucky off but the more he struggled to be free, the stronger Lucky's grip on the whip bound around his neck got.
He never felt this vulnerable. Actually, he felt as if he wasn't himself anymore. He felt as if he was in someone else's body and not his.
The neck was the softest part of his body. Hell, the whole of his body had become soft like that of a normal bird. He needed a lot of training, a lot of healing and hardening his body to be shaped back to normal.
It wasn't his fault he had gone all soft. Most of his powers had been sealed. He had been greatly injured and the place where they had locked him up in, there was no way he would have remained the same Ferlio he was five hundred years ago.
Ferlio's chest heaved up and down with the yearn for air.
He didn't want to die, he preferred being locked up in prison like the way they did years ago but not dying especially in this way.
Being locked up would guarantee his life being intact, nonetheless, when being locked up, he would escape from the bonds of his prison just like the way he did hours ago.
What would they all say?. 'That the great menace Ferlio was killed by a mere boy from an unknown clan?'. He thought to himself.
To think about it, the druid boy was strong and more compelling if he was able to hold on that long despite the various attacks that Ferlio had thrown at him.
He was a creature meant to be feared and known throughout the whole universe. He was a creature meant to be stronger and undefeatable.. a creature meant to be stronger and unbeatable.
Not this, weak and overpowered by a small teenage boy. Nonetheless, he had to free himself off of the tight hold of the boy's if he wanted to stay alive.
Lucky stacked his foot out and kicked the Ferlio's hind area where it had a wound. The wound which had been dark due to the dead skin covering it, was now red as blood oozed out, the dead skin was broken making the wound to be open, again.
Letting out another caw of pain, with his wings flapping more wildly and with more force, he managed to shrug Lucky off of his back and he flew away towards the sky while letting out another caw. He was gasping for air and greedily taking it in appreciating his efforts of breaking free.
Lucky maintained his balance in the air. His shoe, the one that he had used to hit Ferlio's wound with had some blood on it. He didn't mind, he was used to seeing blood so the sight wasn't surprising to see. He looked up to see Ferlio who was trying to recover from what had happened, this was the perfect time to attack.
With one swift move, he air flew to where Ferlio was and hit the already open wound again, whispering a spell to himself, the whip formed a hook at it's edge such that when he pulled the whip, it dug on Ferlio's wound deeper making him to caw louder and trying to pull off off the hook free.
Ferlio was loosing a lot of energy by trying to heal himself and fighting the boy. He was loosing a lot of blood from the open wound and soon, he wouldn't be able to hold on much longer or fight properly.
'Damn that golden fiery red phoenix'. Ferlio thought to himself as he remembered the person who had been the reason behind his misfortunes five hundred years ago.
Lucky smiled inwardly to himself. It was his turn to cause Ferlio's pain. It was his turn to suppress misery and misfortunes to him.
Ferlio couldn't fight nor defend himself with the pain he felt at the moment. It was as if his whole body had been frozen by the pain.
When the second whip came -which he had been not aware of since he had been focusing on his injury and the pain- and the hook dug deeper in his wound, he felt like the life in him was drifting away. His breathe hitched and this time he could no longer hold the tears back.
Moreover, his tears couldn't help. He didn't know why his tears could not heal him but on second thought, he suspected that the time spent locked up under the mountain with most of his powers sealed, was the reason behind this.
He was barely holding up and his wings felt like he was lifting weights. Even if he would be able to fight back, he was pretty sure that his attacks wouldn't have much effect on the boy but he'd try.
He was not going to face his down fall without a fight no matter how weak it would be. That was a decision he had made a long time ago.
Ferlio's wound oozed more blood and Lucky noticed the flattering of Ferlio's balance in the air. His stamina was failing him due to the pain.
With deep heavy breathes and tears blinding his vision, he let out another painful caw when Lucky pulled the hook off which came out with some bits of blood and flesh.
Ferlio let out one of his smoky balls to attack Lucky who quickly dismissed it with a wave of hand once it got a meter close to him. Producing his own magical fireball to attack the bird who was quick enough to miss the attacks on time before it even got close to him.
Lucky tried to hit Ferlio with the whip which was blocked by one of the bird's wings resulting to only a few feathers to come of his wing that fell off, slowly flowing down to their unknown destination on the earth's floor meters away.
Trying to hit the bird again, the whip got caught by the bird's beak. Lucky tried to get the whip free from Ferlio's beak but to no avail as he used the whip to pull Lucky closer to him as if he was a piece of paper.
Letting go of the whip, he quickly hit the boy's head with his beak earning a groan from him.
The hit on the head was so painful that he felt as if his brains had been rearranged, his vision got blurry and last thing he wanted was to loose consciousness at the moment.
The blood streaming down from a little above his forehead down his face was what brought him back to reality but it was too late as Ferlio had caught him with his toes while his claws dug in his ribs and stomach causing him to groan even more in pain.
Ferlio wanted the boy to scream and surrender to him but the boy was rather adamant about it making him wonder what the younger male was made of since he was not yielding up in any way.
Ferlio dug his claws deeper into the boy's body and tightened his hold around the boy so as to squeeze the air and if possible the life out of him.
Lucky tried to free himself but the bird was squeezing him to death, his arms weren't in Ferlio's hold so at least he could defend himself.
He quickly bound the whip he had in his hands around Ferlio's leg which apparently had an injury as well. He tried squeezing it but Ferlio's hold on him only got tighter and his talons got deeper. It was as if the bird was feeling nothing at all.
Like a light bulb, an idea came upon him, Lucky created a fireball on top of the injury which burned Ferlio's wound back to being fresh again which made Ferlio to let go of him quickly but before he could escape, Ferlio hit him on the head again on that same spot he had hit him previously using his beak.
Tit for tat was a fair game after all.
But how could Ferlio have forgotten about his injured leg?. Damn the boy!. The wound was almost healing and now it was back to square one which he hated the most.
Lucky's breathe hitched. His head hurt a lot so as his ribs and stomach. A little blood streamed down from the corner of his mouth down to the tattered remains of his hoodie and T-shirt.
Breathing in and out was a problem due to the pain afflicted on his ribs. He wasn't healing up fast as per his usual and the star of salvation was to be blamed.
