Chapter 30 - Chapter 29

"I don't know why you need this map but I hope you'll return it before anyone notices that it's missing". Ambrose said as she handed out the old, worn out brown folded scroll to Akaya who took it carefully, in the fear of ripping it apart before having a glimpse of what it contained.

A sly smile was plastered on her face as she opened the scroll, revealing it's contents which made her smile all the more. At last, she now had what she needed to get what would keep her son alive.

Akaya sighed as she folded it back and looked up at Ambrose, her sly smile turning up to a smirk, "I appreciate it. Don't worry it'll be back even before they know it was even gone".

"Why do you need it anyways?. Are you planning on attacking us or?". Ambrose asked. Why hadn't she thought of that before...

Akaya let out a scoff, "I don't attack innocent people". Immediately, her mind went back to Chief Shane Wang whom she sucked dry. Her smirk faded away. Chief Shane Wang was innocent, right?. Or maybe not, she was just defending herself from him nothing else... He was the one who attacked her first and not the vice versa so maybe she was right by saying that, "She did not attack innocent people" unless they attacked her first and that wouldn't make them innocent anymore, right?.

"Hey!". Ambrose exclaimed, patting Akaya's hand a little before retrieving it back quickly because of the cold feeling that sent shivers throughout her body. "Was this an ordinary witch?. Why was her body that cold?". Ambrose thought, her brows furrowed thinking about the woman in front of her. Her fingers still felt cold, she was used to living in a cold atmosphere but the coldness on Akaya's skin was extreme, how was she surviving with such a body temperature?.

"What's wrong?". Ambrose asked trying to get to know the reason why Akaya had zoned out earlier. What could she have been thinking about?.

Akaya shook her head to push off the thoughts that were clouding her mind, "Nothing's wrong". She answered, successfully managing to plaster back that smirk of hers on her face. Ambrose nodded a little but still, she was so sure that there was something up the sleeves of the woman in front of her. Akaya was unpredictable.. Ambrose couldn't read her quite clearly and that bothered her a lot.

"I should get going". Akaya replied as she turned her head a little from Ambrose. She could feel Roma and Midira watching her from a distance reminding her that time was not their friend anymore...

"Okay..." Ambrose replied.

"You'll be called when you're needed". Akaya interrupted her then air flew away towards the direction of the seven seas.

Ninah stripped off her clothes, as she looked over at the beating waves of the sea. She took a deep breathe as she looked down at the map again to master the directions she needed to take. She then took the healing herbs and chewed on some of it trying hard not to gag due to the slippery feeling in her mouth and the bitterness coursing down her throat.

The healing herbs were to restore her strength throughout the journey she was to take since she hadn't taken any blood for the past few days since she fed from Chief Shane Wang.

The need to protect her son was more stronger than the hunger she felt. She was cold and her skin had started to pale once again. She looked like a living corpse... That would be like an inside joke to her since she was using a body that wasn't hers, a body that once belonged to a certain unknown but dead witch and it was getting uncomfortable with all the blood cravings and hunger something that she never did before when she was still alive and living in her own body.

Ninah took a deep breathe as she folded the scroll back and kept it in her austral storage. Well at least this body had an austral storage, something she didn't have before in her own body.. She had to agree that there were perks of having this body at least there's always an advantage to something bad.

"I hope the water isn't that cold". She said to herself as the wind brushed past her causing her to shiver and her teeth to chatter.

"Oh by the heavens!". She exclaimed trying to regain her composure. "It's all for Lucky. It's all for Lucky!". She muttered to herself as she rubbed her hands on her naked arms to warm herself up though it wasn't working, she was still cold.

"For my son!". She exclaimed before running forward towards the sea and jumping into the water to swim away to her destination.

"Did you find out anything new from the scroll I gave you?". Plutonic asked Lucky as the walked away from the mansion.

He had decided to go for a walk with Lucky so as to prevent prying ears from listening in their conversation. He had his hands behind him while Lucky had his hands in the kangaroo pockets of his orange hoodie which was a little big than he was but he didn't mind it.

"Other than the golden fiery red Phoenix killing the mythical creature blah blah blah?". Lucky questioned causing his Father to stop and look at him.

"Son..". He trailed off not knowing what to say.

Lucky gave out a humorless chuckle, "It hurts to know that so much is expected from me but I can't do it. I can't and that will be disappointing you".

"Son.." Plutonic tried again but he was cut short by Lucky again.

"Twelve years Dad... it has been twelve years of the same hollow feeling and it hurts. It's as if it's there and at the same time it's not." Lucky said almost in a whisper, his voice cracked a little and tears threatened to stream down his cheeks but he managed to blink them away. Plutonic had never seen him this vulnerable well, except twelve years ago when he was still a kid. He was still a kid, right?.

Plutonic felt his heart swell with emotions as he pulled Lucky into a tight embrace.

"An embrace won't solve anything Dad". He mumbled against Plutonic's massive chest.

Plutonic snorted, "Embraces makes you feel better it's like a handshake from the heart".

"Son I know it's not easy but just keep in mind that you're never a disappointment. You've managed to do what a lot of people have never done, you're one of a kind just believe in yourself Lucky. Your mind is a great asset and you should stay away from negativity because negativity is like a rotten potato if stored with the good ones, what will you find after a few days?. Yes, all the other potatoes will be rotten as well so Lucky I know you have a lot on your plate but don't you think that this is not the right time to panic and give up?".

"That's the much I've heard you speak!". Lucky replied as he pulled off of the embrace with a small smile. Plutonic laid his hands on both of Lucky's shoulders looking down at what his son had become. He smiled as well.

"I'm sure that if your mother was alive, she'd be proud of you as well". Plutonic said.

"We both know that she might be alive somewhere in this world only the heavens know where". Lucky responded.

"If she's indeed alive, then she'll come to us one day, it does not matter the time nor the place but I know that she'll come Lucky".

"I hope that happens soon". Lucky answered.

He suddenly felt strange, that same feeling that was always around him whenever he was alone. Plutonic's brows furrowed at the sudden change of mood of his son.

"Son, what's wrong?". He questioned.

"Nothing".

"Lie".

Lucky sighed, "I'm sorry but I feel as if..." He trailed off not sure of how to complete that sentence so he just looked at his Father who looked back at him, searcwas g his eyes for what was bothering his son.

He then heard it.

A faint noise from a far.

"Can you hear that?". Plutonic asked.

"I can.. It's someone who's injured a mile away from us". Lucky replied, he knew that the owner of the aura that surrounded him at times was the one who was injured. He needed to know what... whom it was.

"It's not Rufus but we have to help this person". Plutonic stated a little disappointed that it was not the lad coming back home nonetheless, he took his hands off of Lucky's shoulders and morphed out his wings.

"Let's go!". He exclaimed as he flew away.

Lucky took in a deep breathe as he jumped up to air fly into the direction that his Father had taken. At last he was going to meet the reason behind the strangeness that was always around him.
