How silly he had been to forget the closeness of the wall that was above him. He grunted in pain as he had hit his head again when trying to sit upright. Something the wall above had made sure with all strictness that he wasn't able to do.
He had to get out no matter what the circumstance. Today was the day he had been waiting for. The day he had been longing for because freedom never smelt this close.
For the past five hundred years, this day had been marked in his own personal calendar and there was no turning back in all of his plans.
He concentrated again on his inner energy. Trying to heal the injuries he had incurred during the past years, that were almost rotting off instead of healing as if he wasn't alive.
It wasn't his fault, the place he was locked up in, beneath the mountain and near the ocean was wet and dark. So no matter how hard he tried to heal, the environment he was in wouldn't let that happen. Plus his powers were somehow sealed here because he couldn't reach his full potential no matter what he tried, no wonder there were no guards around guarding his prison because the one who put him there had made sure that he'd be helpless and weak.
He wondered what was out there. His spying magic had stopped working ever since he started trying to heal himself but he was sure the FireWing clan was still there. At least, he had a clan to go back to hopefully, if they didn't know who he was then he was safe to stay with them or even better, he would take over as the chief and rule the clan before ruling his big plan of reigning over the world.
He slowly tried to stand up and stretch but the space available was small thus restricting his movement. He wasn't able to stand nor stretch his wings out.
No matter what, he was going to get out of the "prison" he was in.

Lucky stood on the clear area of the woods where the mountain and the sky were visible. Akaya stood on his right side while the two other witches that Akaya introduced to him earlier were on his left side.
They were on the other side of Mountain Water Channel where few people and creatures lived. Besides according to the scroll he had been reading, this was where the star was supposed to fall.. this was where Ferlio was locked up but he didn't know where. The scroll never made it clear.
He could feel their eyes on him but he didn't bother looking back at them.
They were whispering amongst themselves in hushed tones making Lucky wonder what they were doing because he could still hear their conversation perfectly fine. Didn't they know that he was able to hear them or what?.
"Your life is at stake today if Ferlio gets out". Roma said audibly.
'Ferlio?. I guess that's the name of the mythical creature'. Lucky thought to himself. His hands were in the kangaroo pockets of his hoodie fiddling with the tube that made up the longbow he was supposed to use.
"As long as you're supernatural, your life is always at stake in one way or another". Lucky answered.
"You're so confident. Aren't you?". Mirida asked.
'Confident?. I'm not. I'd be confident if my father was here for moral support but he's not. I don't even know where he is'. Lucky thought again as he took a few step forwards. His eyes glued on the sky.
The sky was completely dark only lit up by the gibbous moon and several stars here and there. If only he could know which star was the one that he was looking for.. the star he was waiting for then he'd go for it himself instead of standing here and waiting.
Only the heavens knew what Ferlio was doing or where he was and that was a risk for him. Lucky would be lying if he said that he wasn't afraid of Ferlio. Hell, he was just sixteen while Ferlio was almost a thousand years old.
The damn Phoenix was living it's second lifetime while he was here still young and living his first lifetime.
"Lucky you're a smart young man I'm sure you'll be just fine". Akaya tried to reassure him with a small smile.
"If I get through this alive. I'll go and travel the world". Lucky piped in.
Roma and Mirida looked at each other with smirks on their faces.
'If he travels the world as he says it'll be easier for him to go to the missions we want. At least the council will stop doubting my sister and I'. Roma thought to herself.
Lucky heard her thought. He lowered his head such that he was now looking at the trees ahead, wondering what this woman was talking about. Through the corner of his eye he looked at her, this wasn't the right moment to bring up such topics he had to focus on the current situation he was in.
Lucky looked up at the sky again.
The ground shook a little. An echoing noise sounded from a far similar to that of a huge plane or rocket cruising through the sky. There was something coming towards the mountain and it was coming fast.
"It's time. Go!". Akaya shouted but Lucky had seen it first and he was air flying away towards the direction of the incoming light.
The star of salvation was here. Finally!.
Akaya clasped her hands together close to her mouth which had curled up into a smile, full of hope as she looked up at her son.
Roma and Mirida held each other, their faces bright with happiness as they watched Lucky.
Their smiles dropped and their happiness sank away. Like an eruption in a volcano mountain, they saw the mountain in front of them erupt and something fiery flew up towards the direction that Lucky took.
Stones of different sizes flew everywhere as the result of the eruption causing the three witches to take cover behind some trees. Though it wasn't enough protection because of the force the stones came with, it destroyed a few trees thus making them vulnerable.
Roma built a bubble like shield around them using her magic so that the rain of stones wouldn't hurt any of them.
Once the rain of storms ended, Roma's magical bubble vanished as they walked back to the clearing and looked up at where Lucky, the incoming object and the object that had erupted was.
"What was that?. I'm sure it wasn't the star, right?". Akaya asked.
"Ferlio". Roma hissed. Akaya turned to look at her, worry lines etched deep on her forehead as Roma looked back at her. With no expression whatsoever on her face.
"How?. I thought he was weak and couldn't make it out today!". Akaya exclaimed.
"Well, you thought wrong Ninah. He's called Ferlio and he is here for the star". Roma remarked, her voice stern and serious.
"We have to do something. I don't want my son hurt". Akaya muttered.
"There is nothing that can be done. It's either he uses the weapon you got him or the herbs. Nothing can be done, we can't interfere for this is his fight, not ours". Mirida said.
Ninah felt weak suddenly, it was as if she wasn't herself anymore. Falling down on her knees and hands, she couldn't bring herself to watch her son's death.
He wasn't as skillful as Ferlio. He was yet to figure out how to use the longbow thus his chances of winning this fight were very low.
Actually no one knew how to use the longbow. She had tried to figure it out by reading various books but none had that piece of information installed.
"My son!". Ninah mumbled to herself as she dug her nails onto the ground, not minding the dirt that got into her long nails. Tears blinded her as she shook with the fear of loosing her son.
She couldn't loose him now. Not again.
"Get yourself together Ninah. It's too early to mourn". Roma remarked.
Ninah couldn't stop. She was now shaking violently resulting to her falling on her side, her hands hugged her chest as she repeatedly mumbled Lucky's name.
The thought of loosing Lucky or seeing him injured was painful.
The very thought agonized her.
Her insides were twisting. It was as if someone was twisting them like a piece of cloth.
Roma sensed the pain that Ninah felt. Wondering what was wrong with the witch on the forest floor but nothing came in her mind.
"What's wrong with her sister?". Mirida asked.
"I have no idea". Roma replied, leaning forwards so as to get hold of Ninah but she couldn't. There was an invisible wall between the two that prevented her from touching Ninah.
Roma straightened up and took a step backwards. She shook her head slightly.
"They say that after every star of salvation that falls, a witch must be reborn..." Roma trailed off. Hesitantly she continued, "I think something within her is being reborn.. I'm not quite sure but it's possible".
Akaya sat upright. Her head felt heavy. Looking up she saw her son.. the one person who urged her in living. The pain became unbearable, it was now on her skin.
"Lucky". She mumbled once more as she shut her eyes, tears streaming down her cheeks in the process.
She fell on her back. The pain had drifted her to unconsciousness.
