My eyes slowly pry open, the smell of food filling my nostrils. I sigh, untangling my long limbs from around Drystan's body. I was laying on top of his chest, my arms wrapped around his waist and my legs intertwined with his. Drystan slowly removes his arms from my back and I sit up next to him.
My hands rub at my tired eyes while I try to stand. My long brown legs begin to shake as my feet press down onto the ground. If my body was reacting this was from just his fingers I was terrified of what would happen to me if he was inside me. A shudder runs through my body at the thought. I had been with Drystan once before and it was absolutely earth shattering, I had actually passed out but that was a story for another day.
I glance to my side to see a smirk on Drystan's handsome face. I glare at him as his eyes meet mine and flip him off. "Fuck you." I curse. His smile widens as he takes a sip of his wine, watching me intently, humor swirling in his irises. I try my best not to trip or fall while I make my way to the bathroom. I quickly plop down on the toilet before washing my hands, my stomach growling loudly throughout the whole process. I hadn't eaten all day and the smell of that food was mouth watering.
My feet carry my shaky frame back to the couch, the food resting on the coffee table in front of it. Drystan reaches out in front of him and grabs a bag of food. He hands it to me as I mumble a quiet thank you. Upon opening the box I find myself smiling widely. He'd ordered me mac n cheese with fried chicken, collards, and a whole Chocolate cake. I quickly reach in the bag for a fork, devouring the delicious food. It was absolutely perfect, just like at home. South Carolina wasn't good for many things but food was something we always had pride in.
"This is why you didn't want me to go?" I ask finishing the last of my collards.
"No." He states eyes down on his phone. My face scrunches up into one of confusion.
"Then why?"
He glances up at me and stares a few seconds. I was contemplating on something. His green eyes disconnect from mine as he looks back at his phone and continues whatever he was previously doing.
"I didn't want you to leave." He mumbles. "I didn't want you to leave, me." I sigh and grab the chocolate cake, eating my frustration away. Eventually I can't hold in my thoughts and blurt them out.
"Why couldn't you just say that?" I scoff. "Your reasoning-it- it doesn't even make any sense. Why can't you talk like a normal person?! You're so fucking infuriating, ugh." I scoff, tossing my cake on the table. We sit there in silence, my anger increasing with each second of it. I glare out the windows, I feel his gaze on me.
"What?!" I snap. His light green eyes stay on mine unfazed by my outburst. He just watches me, no emotion in his eyes. I growl and stand up, making my way towards the door. He grabs my wrist, stopping me in my tracks. I sigh and glare down at him, my body hot with anger. I was beyond irritated by him right now. It was probably for a stupid reason but him acting like an idiot and not using his words was infuriating.
"I'm sorry." He softly apologizes, easing me down onto his lap. I sigh as he wraps his arms around me, pulling me into his chest. The alpha rests his head up against my temple, breathing in deeply. I sit there for a few seconds but quickly remove myself from his grip. I hated being touch when I was angry. A loud sigh leaves his lips as I unwrap his arms from my body and stand up. He reaches for his phone and gets back on it angrily continuing his previous activities. I walk away from him and grab my purse heading out the door. As the door closes behind me, I peer out into the beautiful hallway before walking to the edge of the ramp in from of our door. My heart drops as I see how high up we are. I was never in for heights and I didn't like elevators either. My heart beat speeds up as I look at the tiny people in the lobby below me. The entire hotel was marble and white. Columns were placed everywhere that would fit, along with high end furniture and a few water fountains here and there. It was beautiful, I wonder why Drystan got this room. He was very powerful and wealthy but he wasn't one to just spend money on things for no reason. I wonder around a few minutes before stopping and asking a random person to help me find the elevator.
"Hi, excuse me." I start a small smile on my lips. The blonde haired man turns around and down at me. His blue eyes piercing through my soul. My heart drops and my mouth starts moving before my brain can stop it. "Wow, you have really pretty eyes..... But that's not why I called you." I laugh. " Can you help me? I'm lost."
He smiles widely before thanking me. "Thank you. What can I help you with miss?" I can't find the elevators. I've been wandering the halls looking for them but nothing. " I sigh, pushing my purse back up on my shoulder.
" They're right at the end of each hall. There's one over in the direction you came from and one behind me." He informs me.
"Oh. I'm such an idiot," I laugh again. " Thank you, hon. "
"No problem." He smiles. I make my way to the elevator and press the small round button to go down. A few seconds go by as I wait for the elevator to ascend to my level. Just as it arrives, a ding sound rings through the air, the gold doors opening up to an empty mirror filled room. I step in and press floor one, leaning against the wall as the doors close. I glance over at the buttons to see what floor were were on.
"Fifty." I unknowingly whisper. "Wow. That's high."
My long ride to the bottom starts as the elevator brings me down. Most elevators had music, this one did not. I glance around the empty elevator before starting to hum to myself. I glance up at the screen above me. "Floor Thirty five" it reads. I sigh before full out singing to myself, trying to make the time fly by faster.
I can hear you calling, From where you are
Lovin' the way you wanna talk
Touch me, Tease me, Fill me up
Touch me, Tease me, Fill me up
My voice rings out into the empty elevator. My voice wasn't anything grand and flashy. Most people expected some amazing strong voice with tons of riffs and crescendos. I guess I got the voice that added to my personality. Sweet and airy. I was a quiet singer and I struggled around low notes but I was grateful for what I had. My mother used to make me sing every Christmas dinner up until about two years ago, when I met Drystan. I'd felt his eyes on me the whole time, lurking in the crowd. I couldn't explain what it was, I was aware of his presence the second I stood up on the stairway, but he was nowhere to be seen. I felt his eyes on my skin but I didn't know where it was coming from.
Mom's Christmas dinner was like a grand ball, hundreds of people would arrive and all other packs were invited. Looking back on it, I don't know how we fed all those mouths. A smile forms on my face as I think of my family. I missed them a lot. My father didn't really have a choice but to send me here. It sucked but it was part of my life as a second class she wolf. Drystan and his pack were first class, direct lines to the royals. I was a second, meaning I was slightly less than but it is what it is.
"Ding!"
I glance up at the screen, 'Floor one' it reads. I sigh as the doors open to the grand hallway.
