Chapter 22 - Kabanata 22

Kabanata 22

Swim

I excused myself after the dinner and go upstairs to change.

The light from the moon reflect on the water, it amazed me, the reason why I decided to go down and take a dip. My body is tired and I want to relax myself in pool.

I did not bother myself to take off my clothes, tho, I'm wearing a dolphin short and a sleeveless top, I'm still feel comfortable with it.

I dive into the water and let myself feel the coldness that slowly relax my body.

I almost shriek dahil sa gulat at gustong mag protesta. But my words remained in my mouth when I look who is the person who get me up.

"What the hell!" gulat na sigaw ko. I heard some footsteps coming near us, but it was just drown by Race harsh breathing.

"What happened? Ba't basa ka Race?" Dad's voice linger on my ear, but I didn't bother to look at his direction. I was sitting in the edge.

"I-I'm sorry, Sir... akala ko... nalulunod si Luinne," he huskily said. My Dad chuckle kaya bahagya akong nakaramdam ng hiya.

"Don't worry about my daughter, Race... She's a swimmer way back in her college days. And she was also the representative in swimming in their school kaya di na 'yan malulunod," my Dad's remark made me flushed. "Wait here, I'll just called a maid for your robes," tsaka ito naglakad na papasok sa bahay.

Mahabang katahimikan ang namagitan sa amin. My heart still pounding so hard, like I was in a marathon.

"I'm sorry. I... didn't know that... you already know how to swim," pagbasag ni Race sa katahimikan. The tense he's feeling right now is obvious because of the moving veins in his forearm and his clenching jaw.

I shiver in the cold wind that blew, added by the coldness of Race voice. I didn't expect that he will get me up from the water, saving me from drowning. But I wasn't!

The water that dripping on Race's face made him more look serious.

I understand him, and it's okay, nagulat lang ako. Maybe I shouldn't get down here for a swim huh...

"It's okay. You don't need to know it, tho," tanging na sambit ko nalang.
