I sat down and half paid attention to the movie. Every so often I looked at Johnathan. Not once did he move away from the door. I did my best to pay attention to the movie. Tasha covered me up when I started shivering.
"He's fine. Just relax, they'll be back."
Tasha murmured and I snuggled into the couch. My mother smiled at me sadly. I knew she was upset I had never said anything about what the others had done. Hell, tonight with Peter wasn't even the worst of it at all. Things much worse had been done.
My breathing quickened as I relived it, panic bubbling in my throat. Anna knew. I had told her everything when she came to see me in the hospital the day I came back. She looked at me knowingly and walked up to her mate.
"John..... The Queen needs a walk, some air would do her good."
"I can't Anna. Remington would be pissed. His wolf needs her here, safe."
"I understand. I want you to mind link him and explain that she's probably going to have a panic attack, which will push her fear at him more than normal. He doesn't need to worry shes being harmed."
"Alright. I'll tell him. Their link isn't established yet."
Anna sighed and sat next to me. She began rubbing my back. I knew what was coming. My mother and Tasha gathered close as well, trying to make me feel safer. The issue was without Remmy, I didn't feel safe. I felt like Peter would come and finish what he had started at the ball. My breathing became harsh and fast as sudden sobs wracked my body. My mother looked at me worriedly.
"Honey.... Calm. Deep breaths. What's wrong?"
"What.... What if Remmy rejects me when I tell him, mom? He should know about it."
"Sweetie... You know, he's your mate. He's been searching for you for a long time. I doubt he would reject you over something you had no control over. You had no control over what that man did to you."
I cry into her chest, trembling. I can't seem to calm myself, she isn't Remmy. I just cry and cry. Johnathan seems very uneasy as well.
"My queen.... Is your mother talking about what I think she is?"
"Y....yes. I was sixteen. Please..... John.... Don't... Tell him. I will. But please.... Not yet."
"My lady, he won't reject you over it. In fact he'll probably want to hunt the man down and rip his head from his body."
Anna and Tasha gasp at how Johnathan worded it. I continue to sob into my mother's chest. She was unphased, used to my father talking like that often. We both were. She held me close, trying her best.
"John.... Do you have anything that smells like the king?"
"Anna. Go to his room and grab his shirt."
Anna ran and came back in seconds. She handed me and shirt and I greedily inhaled his scent. My heartrate slowed and my body relaxed slightly. I clutched at the shirt. My mom and Anna looked at me, worry written on their faces. I snuggled under the blanket, closing my eyes.
"He'll be here soon, my queen."
Johnathan whispered and I nodded slowly. I was exhausted, the nights events wearing me down. It didn't help that I was still in some pain. Anna sighed and went to stand by her mate.
"John... You really think he won't reject her?"
"He won't. Hes waited years to find her. It took forever for the pull to put us in this direction. He already loves her. Their bond is going to be the strongest seen in centuries. What worries you, little dove?"
"Its just.... He's expecting a virgin. All male wolves do. And.... She's not. Not by choice though."
"Yes. And since it was against her will, he won't want to reject her. He'll want the bastards head on a stake. He'll want anyone who hurts or has harmed her dead. He was going to murder that boy."
"I know... But..."
I ignored their conversation, not wanting to deal with it or hear their thoughts on me and Remmy. The door opened and my father walked in.
"Sweetie.... That panic attack made the king a bit frenzied. He's on a run."
"Daddy.... I..."
"I know. I haven't told him. That is your story to tell. He should be back in a moment. So don't get upset."
I nodded and simply clutched his shirt closer. Relaxing against my mother, I closed my eyes. I had to block out everything to stay calm. It was the only way. The door burst open and John and Anna scrambled out of the way.
"My king.... She's fine."
"Then what the fuck was the panic about?"
He growled lowly. I whimpered, cowering futher in the blanket and my mother.
"Luna Amber, may I have my mate?"
"Of course. We grabbed her a shirt from your room. Your scent was rhe only thing that would calm her."
"Thats to be expected. A royal mate bond is a bit different...."
"We know. Here... Take her."
He sighed and I was passed to him. I opened my eyes and sniffled.
"I.... I'm sorry. It just happened."
"Little mate.... It's fine. Whatever you were panicking about, don't worry about it. Nothing could make me reject you. I have been searching for too long."
Nodding I burried my head in his chest, inhaling his soothing scent. I yawned and relaxed in his arms. He kissed my forehead and I sleepily looked at him.
"When you hold me... The pain goes away."
He growled quietly and I kissed his cheek.
"You all can leave. Shes staying with me. Johnathan... Your mate is welcome to stay as well."
My father walked over and kissed the top,of my head and my mother gave me a gentle hug.
"Well see you in the morning."
"Night mom, daddy."
They left and Remmy stood up, cradling me to him.
"Sleep, little love. You need rest."
I nuzzled closer as he put me on the bed and wrapped his arms around me. I let exhaustion take me without a fight.
