Once in my room, Anna and Tasha started packing my clothes, going through them. I sat on my bed and started packing some of my make up, singing to myself softly. It had been a while since I was content and relaxed enough to sing. Tasha smiled at me and grabbed a few more of my dresses, throwing them in a suitcase.
When they finished, they smiled and sat down with me on the bed.
"Done!"
I giggled and laid back. I was ready for a new start, away from the pack and away from the abuse. I was moving on to better things. Remmy seemed very nice and caring.
"Anna, if I'm leaving, and Remmy and John are, you are coming right?"
"Yes. John and I packed last night."
I nodded and hugged Tasha.
"I will come back when its time for the baby to be born."
She nodded and hugged Anna. I knew she was sad, but she also knew this would be good for me. I grabbed a brush and ran it through my hair, deciding to leave it down. I looked at my outfit and decided to change into the white summer dress Tasha had suggested.
I came out of my bathroom and my mom was sitting on my bed talking with Tasha. She smiled when she saw me.
"He'll be ready to leave soon. I'll miss you. But we'll come visit. And I'm sure he'll let you come here too."
"I hope so. I love you, mom. Thank you. For always believing in me and making me feel special."
She hugged me close and then handed me a little package. I opened it and stared at the necklace. It was delicate and intricately desinged, the deep ruby laid snugly in the gold heart. The chain warm against my skin. My mother helped me put it on and smiled brightly.
The ruby shone amazingly against my skin, the necklace felt warm but it felt like it belonged there. I stared at myself in the mirror and gently touched the pendant, smiling softly. My dad came in and stood behind me.
"I see she gave you the pendant. It suits you."
"Thank you daddy."
He hugged me and held me for a second.
"Be good. Listen to him. Don't get into trouble. If you need us, we're a call away."
I hugged him back quickly, when a cough sounded at my door. I turned to find my brother, Remmy and John. Anna had already rushed over to her mate and was holding his hand. I smiled shyly at Remmy as he held his hand out for me. I walked over slowly, and after hugging my brother I took his outstretched hand, shivering at the tingles running up my arm. He smiled and kissed my forehead.
"She will come visit, I won't keep her from you."
"Thank you."
I whispered and he tugged me out, my bags already in the car. Anna climbed in one with John, smiling at me. I slid in to our car, Remmy following after, telling the driver that we were heading home. I hummed softly to myself and looked out the window as we left. I was on to bigger things. I could feel it. My future was going to be filled with surprises and struggle but I would make it through with Remmy by my side.
I grew bored after a few hours of driving and snuggled into Remmy. He smiled at me and went back to his computer screen. I decided to kiss his cheek, to which he didn't respond much. Frustrated I nipped at his neck. He threw the computer and growled.
"Careful, little mate."
He pulled me over his lap, I was suddenly straddling him. He tipped my chin up and brushed his lips against mine. I wiggled in anticipation and he groaned. He pressed his lips to mine gently at first, then more feverishly. My whole body felt like it had been set on fire, tingles exploded everywhere. I clutched his shirt in my hands, my breathing ragged. I can feel his hands running up,and down my back slowly.
Out of nowhere, I'm pushed away. Confused I look over at Remmy as my breathing calms. Im slightly dizzy from the kiss, my body still tingling and humming with need for my mate. My eyes start to sting when I notice him looking away from me.
"You're not ready little mate. Not yet. I'm trying. I'm not used to holding back."
"I.... Who are you to tell me what I'm not ready for?! You.... You....."
My body starts shaking as I sob into my hands. I gather my coat and clutch it around my body. We sit in silence the rest of the way there, my sobs and sniffles the only thing interrupting the silence every so often. The car finally stops and I want so badly to run from it, from the pain and confusion.
"Little one...."
He whispers and goes to touch me but I jerk away, trying to brush my tears away. He watches me and sighs, stepping out of the car. I slide out and Anna sees me, her smile fades and she pulls me into her arms.
"Whats wrong?"
I shake my head and push away from her. She looks hurt and quite shocked at me. Remmy sighs again and tries to take my hand. I snatch it away quickly.
"Please... I need to lie down."
"I'll take you to our room."
I follow behind him, trying my best not to break down again. He opens the door and lets me go in.
"I'll be back later. I have to speak with my father."
I dont respond as he leaves. As soon as the door closes, I fall in a heap sobbing and trembling. Utterly lost and confused. I thought he was supposed to want me. I couldn't understand what I had done wrong in the car. I didn't hear my door open until Anna sat by me and gathered me in her arms.
"What happened, Callie?"
"I don't want to talk about it."
"I... Ohhh....."
She whispered and helped me into the bed. I curled in a ball and cried more. Eventually I could feel exhaustion tug at the back of my mind and I let it take me willingly as everything slipped into black nothingness.
