Alice had waited for a while, standing at the top of the staircase, away from the door just so the king wouldn't think she was eavesdropping. She let out a sigh, curiosity eating her from the inside as she heard muffled words and pacing. For a second she believed a fight had started but soon the room was quiet. After a while Julius appeared. Opening the door, furious, his eyes red and he ran off, not even sparing a glance at her.
