Ken's POV
"Of course she knows that, she is great at physics."
I think hard, "Oh yes, and of course, Mom has told me about that." I don't know if this is going to hide my foolishness.
"Oh yeah. Stupid me, of course Tita will tell you that." We laughed, including my parents. I guess they hadn't moved for a while but they have eventually.
"Why did you rent near Ken's house? What are you up to?" Chan consecutively asked.
"Simple. I wanna be with her." Thaddeus answered.
"Why? You don't need to be with her. I am here!"
"What!? Do you think you only have the right to take care of her!?"
"Of course, I'm his man!"
"So what are you pointing out!? I am his childhood friend!"
"ENOUGH!" I bellowed. My head aches now and my ears are tingling. Thankfully, they stopped arguing.
"Let me rest, I need silence. Go away if you can't do that." I said, looking down. My disease brings me mood swings. I can't understand everything.
I turned my wheelchair, and they both said they'll help me but I raised my hand as a sign of stop. They stopped. "Fix whatever you're fighting for. I can manage." Then, I left the living room and went straightly into my room.
*
I really don't know what to make of this but as I thought of Chan's smile, I grew stronger. What am I doing this for? For Chan. Why? For him to be happy. Would it be possible and necessary? I don't know.
I cupped my face with my hands and cried. I don't have idea where is this leading to. I just want the best for my man. I hate this!
Then, there are knocks on my door. I wiped away my tears using my sleeves. I sniffed and stopped crying. I breathed naturally and form a smile.
I opened it and saw Chandria. Chandler's behind her, his hands on the air, waving.
"Hi, Sis." She smiled. I just smiled too and did not bother to speak. Maybe it was a cue for Chandler to do the talk.
"Like I said, Chandria. She does not remember you." Chan warned.
"Oh, right."
"Let me talk to her first." Her sister nodded and trailed behind him.
"She's your sister, right? You're very much alike." I said, completely pretending. Of course I can't forget who she is. Chandria is so kind to all of us. She's like a sister to me. She likes me for Chandler, she said I'm the most perfect girl who can control and manipulate her stubborn brother.
"Good guess. She's my sister, and she came 'cause she wants to see you and brought a present for you."
"Thank you."
Queerly, she looks at me straightly and never seems to blink even once. I looked away, then looked again at her. She widened her eyes and all of a sudden, her eyes smiled.
"I'm Chandria, do you remember me?" She received a nudge from Chandler.
"I told you she can't remember a thing unless you tell her." Chandler reminded.
"I'm being ridiculous, sorry. But, can I talk to her?"
"Yes. You can ta--"
"Alone. Go out."
"What?"
"Go as far as you know I would want. Maybe, hang out in your car. I want to talk with Ken, girl to girl, heart to heart."
Again, I panicked. She's a psychologist, a great one. I already know she's scrutinizing me earlier.
"What!?" Chandler complaint.
"GO!"
"You're so ridiculous!" He shouted but followed her sister's order and closed the door. Chandria locked it.
"I'm sorry for that. Lagi talaga kaming nag-aaway kasi makulit iyun." She stated. I just nodded, I am frozen here and can't prolong my stares at her. She's a psychologist, she will know for sure. She'll hate me, and might tell her brother.
"Are you okay? You seems pale."
"I am fine."
"Okay. You know what? I partly blame Chandler for what happened to you." She held my hand.
"You see he was a jerk and doesn't seem to think what was happening. I'll fill you in, incase you don't know what happened why were you hospitalized and in coma. Supposedly, he would propose to you, and was buying a present for you that day when Ianne bumped into him, she was drunk--he said she seemed so problematic and stressed--and suddenly, her lips were on my brother's. I blame him for not stopping her. But I also saw and proven my brother's love to you. He blames himself every night, cry every night, and regretting it all every night. Because of that girl, I thought I know her for she's the daughter of Dad's friend, and when we were young, we used to play with each other, together. As I was saying, I saw my brother's sincerity and love for you."
I burst into tears, I know my dad told me about this but I still can't help it. She hugged me. "Do you remember? Did I fill you in enough for what you don't know?"
I'm speechless, I don't know what to reply. "I told you that for I know you don't know the whole story yet,"
"But you remember everything, right? You can't deceive me, Ken."
