Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

Reece Whitney was sitting at her desk, working. She had to have had the most boring job in the entire world. She was a customer service agent in Billings, Montana.

Reece was extremely tired of her boring, always gotta say what's in the script, couldn't deviate for a second, mundane, job.

She wanted something where she could connect with the customer if they showed interest in banter. If not the customer the very least, she thought the co-workers should have some room for conversation in the work place. She should not be forced to spend so much time with people where all they are aloud to say to each other are curt 'hi's' and 'excuse me's' in the hallways.

She really wanted out. Out of this boring, no good, dead end, job. Out of this town. Most of all, she wanted out of this state. She couldn't stand it here anymore!

'I think I'm gonna take a vacation. I'll call Milicent at lunch and see if she wants to head out with me. Maybe we could go to Vegas. That would be awesome.' Reece was thinking to herself.

"Reece, what ARE you doing?"

Reece shook her head, looking up, trying to clear out the thought of her up coming plans. Only to find the not so happy face of her boss standing there staring down at her like she had been caught red handed.

'No point hiding it' Reece thought, inwardly shrugging her shoulders.

"Well, Ma'am, I'm day dreaming about running away with Milicent."

"And, pray tell, who is this Milicent? She best be here doing some work herself."

"Oh she's my best friend in the whole world. No ma'am she doesn't work here. Just think about that; if she did you just might never get any work done out of the two of us." Reece recoiled, trying, and somewhat failing, to suppress a smile.

"Well, how about maybe," said her boss, with a snarky quip in her voice and a sharp step to her stride, as she left, "less daydreaming and more working, yeah?"

Oh man, just a few more hours until lunch break. Reece sighed, she could do this. Back to the task at hand. Being boring.

Finally, lunch time. Reece made her way to the cafeteria where she could order her salad and call her Milicent.

She smiled at the thought. That's right bitches, her Milicent. Her best bitch. Her ride or die. Her girl. Her best friend through thick and thin.

Reece made haste with getting her salad and dressing, only ranch would do. 'Oh well, she thought, 'its all going to the same place, it doesn't have to be pretty. That's what my maw maw always said anyway.' Reece thought to herself as she drowned her salad in ranch dressing and then recovered it with its top. Securing the top back on all around she flipped it upside down and shook furiously for about ten seconds; just long enough to ensure everything not white inevitably was. Time to eat this deliciousness that was unhealthy salad.

She sat and loaded her fork up with this tasty salad of hers, and took out her cell phone. She took this ginormas bite as she dialed. And just as she knew was going to happen Milly answered on the first ring. And Reece had a mouthful of salad she had to talk around.

"Hello," Milicent answered.

"Ey! Ory, ou lvwyz douf daf. Olll ohn, oleff mouuufff."

"Tf you just say to me, bish?" Milicent laughed.

Reece laughed and tried again. "I said, hey sorry you always do that hold on salad mouth..."

"Maybe you shouldn't call me with a full mouth next time. Problem solved."

Reece knew her best friend so well she could practically see her with her eyebrow raised.

She shook her head, "you know I only have a limited lunch break here. I called for a reason. I need to talk to you about something kind of important, but since time is an issue I was thinking we could do dinner tonight. Hog Wild café. Say 5:30-ish." Reece finally got out the reason for her call.

"Damn, maybe take a breath?" Milicent asked with a playful laugh. "Yes, I will meet you at Hog Wild. You knew I would. How could I say no to our favorite spot?"

"Ok, see ya there. Bye, babe" Reece said into the phone.

"Bye, Bitch," Milicent replied using one of their favorite terms of endearments.

Reece absolutely knew Milly would be in when she mentioned the café. Now all she had to do was meet her, feed her, and convince her to come to Vegas with her. Reece had her heart set on Vegas. She was going to make that shit happen. Hopefully with her best friend to help keep her out of trouble.

Reece and alcohol was a somewhat interesting combination.
