The next morning, Reece awoke earlier than normal. She sat up in bed, stretched her arms high above her head, and arched her back, effectively stretching her entire body.
She let out a huge yawn as she threw her legs over the side of the bed. She said her feet into her comfy house slippers and padded her way to the bathroom. When she was done with her morning potty, she grabbed a towel out of the cubbard and hung it on the towel rack. The she leaned in past the shower curtain and turned on first the hot water, to give it a little extra time to warm, then the cold.
While the water got warmed to the perfect temperature Reece slipped off her cute silky black pajamas. She then stuck her hand under the spray of water, and gave it one last adjustment. Now the mirror was starting to fog. So Reece hopped in.
She turned her back to the spray to soak her hair through. Next she grabbed her strawberries and cream shampoo and gave her hair a rich lather. After she rinsed that clean she scrubbed in the same scented conditioner. She grabbed up her loofah and her dove body wash and began scrubbing her body. Head to toes. As she was doing this the water was rinsing her conditioner out but she'd give it a quick scrub with her hands, just to make sure it was all gone.
After all the soap and conditioner had been rinsed from her she decided it was time to get out. She leaned forward and turned the water off.
She opened the curtain and could barely see right in front of her face because of all the foggyness. Thank goodness this isn't some slasher film, Reece thought, as she grabbed the towel and wrapped it around her.
She got another towel from the cubbard and dipped at the mirror then she wrapped her hair up turban style. She reached over and opened the bathroom door to let the steam out and cooler air in.
She picked up her tooth brush and paste and began brushing her teeth while standing at the sink. She absent mindedly did this while her mind wandered to the few remaining things she had to pack. Her toiletries.
Toothbrush.
Toothpaste.
Hairbrush.
Blow dryer.
Make up.
Deodorant.
She really hoped she wouldn't forget anything. After she finished brushing her teeth she packed those items, then she continued with the routine of make up. Only this morning she went extra light due to the travel she'd have to endure later. So just eyeliner. Then she packed the make up.
Next she grabbed her deodorant. She was partial to men's degree but if she didn't have any other choice she would wear women's degree. She applied a liberal amount to both pits then recalled it and packed it.
Finally it was time for her hair. She took the turban down, towel dried it a bit more, then tossed the wet towel to the side. She grabbed up her hair brush and started running it through the knots on her head. After she had worked them out she traded the brush for the hair dryer, flipped it on, and started the task of blow drying her hair. She had already decided that she wasn't going to go all out today. Maybe just a high pony tail. Probably just a high pony tail. Yeah just a high pony tail. So after her hair was dry she flipped off the dryer, unplugged it, grabbed up the brush. She began the tedious task of brushing out the wind blown hair. When all the tangles were out, she started brushing it up into a high pony in one hand. Finally putting down the brush she snatched up a black scrunchy and tied her hair up. With this completed she packed her brush and blow dryer in her bag. Then slid her feet back into her house slippers and made her way back into her room.
Once back in her room she looked through her closet for something comfortable enough to wear on this 2-ish hours flight. That's of there were no delays.
Her eyes landed on a pair of black boot cut jeans and a three inch sleeve pink button up. That would do. She dug through her underwear drawer until she came up with matching baby pink bra and boy shorts. Then she found a pair of black socks and a pair of foax leather ankle boots to complete the outfit.
She then kicked off her slippers and dropped her towel and dressed. When she was done with that she hung both towels up to dry and picked up her luggage. She made her way out the door, to her car where she put all her luggage in the trunk. She drove to her last day at the job she so very much hated.
She was almost free. Free to start her life.
