Chapter 3 - Chapter 3

Reece stood, and, waved her arm over her head just a little bit to get Milicent's attention.

Milicent walked right up to Reece and hugged her. Then she took a long, appraising look at her long time friend and sucked in a deep breath and said, "damn Bitch, with you looking like that you sure didn't have to wave me over. Everybody's attention was already on you. You looking good tonight, shit. I should've dressed up."

"Are you kidding? Every person in here, man and woman, will be fighting with each other to have your attention tonight. But they will have to get the fuck over themselves. You're mine tonight ma'am."

"You already ordered?" Milicent asked.

"It's already taken care of. Kat is working tonight. She saw me and asked if you were coming and already knew."

"Oh, good, I just love me some Kat. She is the absolute best here." Milicent said.

They were in complete agreement. If the Hog Wild Café ever lost the asset that is Kat, they would probably lose an enormous amount of business.

"So, since you got here first you're paying right?" Milicent asked, playfully kicking Reece under the table, as Kat was bringing them their drinks. A Dr pepper for Reece and Milicent both. Only the best will do!!

"As for the check, you know how the game works, Milly. Yes, I'm paying. Besides, I have some news to celebrate and I have to ask you something also remember?"

"Well, are you going to keep me in suspense all night?" Milicent asked, impatiently.

"I was kind of waiting for our food to arrive. That way we could eat and talk. Have dinner? You know, what I asked you to do?" Reece said sarcastically.

"Fine, but I'm not happy about wait-"

Milicent was cut off as Kat made her way up to Reece and Milicent's table with a trey of food. Kat balanced it in the air with ease. She picked up a BBQ pulled pork sandwich and fries and set it down I'm front of Milicent and then she picked up a bacon double cheeseburger and some oinion rings and placed it in front of Reece. Then, a reece's shake appeared in front of Milicent and a kit Kat and vanilla shake made its way in front of Reece.

Reece looked up from her meal, "I don't know how you do that but, I could seriously hug you right now."

Milicent was looking like she, too, wanted to hug the pretty, petite girl.

"It's a gift." Kat said, sassily, turning on her toes to walk back to whatever she did until she was needed.

Milicent and Reece turn their attention back to their meals. As Reece picked up her burger, Milicent reached across the table and plucked an oinion ring off Reece's plate.

"So? What's your good news?  What are we celebrating?" Milicent asked.

"Oh, we will discuss that later. Right now," Reece went on, waving off her big news and instead focusing the attention on other things, as she reached across the table snatching a fry, "let's talk about when was the last time you took a vacation?"

"Oh well that has been a while. I guess now that I think about it, it's getting about time for a vacation." Milicent said, thinking.

"Since you are an author and pretty much make your own schedule, what do you say we go on vacation to Las Vegas Friday, for the weekend?" Reece asked, testing the waters. If this goes well maybe after they got there she'd let slip that she didn't really have a reason to come back to Montana. She might plant the idea that she'd live in Vegas.

Milicent's eyes widened. Really wide. "Vegas?!? Friday!!!? As in this weekend?"

She really wasn't going to let Reece get words in so Reece just settled on nodding her head yes.  As in this weekend, Vegas.

"How are you even going to pull this off? Do you think the Dragon Lady of a boss you have is going to let you off half a day early so you can catch a plane to Vegas to party it up for the weekend?" Milicent continued.

Reece didn't quiet want to tell her about her and her soon-to-be former boss's arrangement  until it was fulfilled. Milicent would talk Reece into keeping the job she hated so much because of practicality. But Reece, and her heart, really wanted to follow her boss's advice.  She wanted to love what she did, and do what she loved.

"Don't worry, I've got everything taken care of. Just tell me you will go with me."

"Yes of course. Somebody has to keep your light weight ass out of trouble. I'll go with you. When we get done here I'll go home and order our tickets online."

With that decided they finished their meals with loud laughter and funny banter bringing smiles to all the faces of everyone around them.
