The sun slowly entered the west, followed by the blanket of night engulfing the sky. Canute looked out of the window. His gaze was fixed on the city lights.
The thought of this morning's incident lingered in his mind. To him, the city looked perfectly fine.
The chilly breeze blew inside the room making it colder. Canute shivered, rubbing his arms. There was no fireplace in the room.
His only source of heat was, the three small magic fireballs floating around him. The bed was as hard as a rock. And the room was as cold as ice.
"So much for saving humanity." He thought pissed off.
He somehow pulled the night off in this prison. The sun finally rose up taking back it's the position in the sky.
Knock*Knock*
".....…."
Canute curled up in the thin sheet of blanket still shivering.
"Sir, please wake up."
It was the lieutenant's voice. But Canute only curled up more in the bed. Until the lieutenant burst open the door.
He grabbed the clueless archmage from the collar and dragged the wriggling fish out of the room followed by the fireballs.
"What's happening? Where am I? Where are you taking me?"
"You sleep well for a stranger sir. We are taking you to the captain."
"Captain?"
"For interrogation regarding yesterday's incident."
Canute recalled that cold looking captain and sighed heavily out of disappointment.
"I get it now, but could you stop dragging me? I've got legs in case you never noticed."
The lieutenant paused and looked back at the poor archmage who was haggard from all the 'comfortable, pleasant escorting given by the lieutenant.'
He finally let go of his collar allowing him to stand up.
" If you had just woken up on time, this wouldn't have happened."
"WHAT!!!?" Canute was pissed off even more.
They finally reached the main building.
" Aupsen!Lieutenant Johannes!" The guards saluted.
"Let's go," he entered the room.
"Aupsen!" Johannes saluted. Raymond nodded.
"Have a seat," Raymond asked Canute then sat down and signaled Johannes to leave.
"I received your message through Johannes." Raymond straightened up.
"Who are you?"
The atmosphere turned dark.
"Just a traveler from Lorain blessed by the saintess." Canute beamed.
"Th-the saintess!? Do you mean by the fourth saintess Clara là Mîra?!"
"Y-yes?"
Raymond trembled, getting on his knees.
"MY APOLOGIES FOR TREATING YOU LIKE THIS, SIR!!"
"Ahaha!"Canute scratched his head chuckling.
" Don't tell me...that the saintess is heads over heels for you?"He loomed over Canute.
"No there is nothing between us."
Canute sweated from head to toe smiling awkwardly.
"Good...ahem!I mean. She is nearly 120 years old...so she wouldn't choose you at the least."
He blushed mumbling.
"Is this really the same ice-cold captain of Elysia? O Great Divinity! What am I witnessing?" Canute thought sweating.
"Anyways...." Raymond cleared his throat.
"What's with these fireballs around you? Are you some kind of a mage?"
Canute nodded.
"A mage huh! He can help us."Raymond thought staring at the clueless archmage.
"I have a favor!!"
"Favor?"
"Yes, I have a favor to ask!!"
Raymond banged on the table. In a split second, he turned back to his usual self.
