CENTRAL MAGE TOWER: CENTRAL ELYSIA.
They reached the mage tower by nine. The tower was old fashioned. The architecture resembled that from era 500AD.
Canute got off from his steed. The presence of the mages wasn't promising. They entered the tower gates. Above the entrance, something was carved out on cold tower stones. Canute presumed that it was the Holy language.
The Holy language was the ancestor of all the currently spoken languages in the human realm. Very few could decipher it.
The mages in the tower had a gloomy aura around them. Raymond approached a young-looking mage. He wore a navy blue and dark purple robes; probably the mage uniform of Arcania. He wore a chest-length necklace that was engraved with an 'E' on it. It represented the tower of Elysia.
Raymond asked the mage if they could look around the tower under his guidance. The mage flinched and nodded nervously. His bob cut hid his pale face.
The tower had eleven floors. Each floor had three large rooms. The ground floor had simple old magical ornaments displayed.
They climbed up the steps to the first floor.
"The first five floors are the bedrooms for the mages working here." the mage said."Each room is shared among two mages."
"There are thirty mages for this tower out of which eighteen have been killed by the wild mountain beasts." he continued.
Tension filled the air around the two of them.
"The sixth and seventh floor is the magic library. All records of Elysian arcane is available here."
"Are there any historical records on the mountain beasts?"Canute interrupted.
" Sadly no. All we have is the general magic history of the empire and this city. In addition, we have the records of these chaos-ridden beasts from two decades ago."
"Nothing else?" Raymond asked.
"Yes, If you are looking for the history of the lost magic, then the magic library of Aphros is what I can strongly recommend."
"The capital's library. I heard it is as big as to cover half of the temple of Lorain."Raymond gulped.
As they entered the library, the torches lit themselves. Canute looked around. The library was big enough to cover one-fourth of the tower. He picked up a random book and looked in it.
" Not much information I see.No wonder. They lack in multiple fields."He frowned.
Raymond passed Canute to the other row. He climbed the ladder and picked up the dust-covered book.
He blew off the dust causing him to cough up. He ruffled his short dark brown hair to brush off the dust.
"Cough*This is why I hate mages. Careless beings."
As he opened the book, a chill ran down his spine.
"What's this?" he stammered.
