CHAPTER FORTY-FOUR
The winter air in D city was not as cold as the air in Island Nebu. The birds were happily chirping, the sky was a beautiful azure. The sun, despite being December, was shining so brightly. It was obviously a gorgeous day.
Yet—Ronnie gulped down a lungful of air audibly. The atmosphere inside the car was scary. Something sinister was emanating from his friend, Alec. Though, he could hardly blame him given his sister was just arrested for something she could not help. But what surprised him was the alarmingly menacing aura constantly stemming from the younger man sitting at the back seat.
Despite the serenity outside the car, Ronnie's sweat fell in droplets. Even though he was only driving them towards the office, Ronnie felt like he was driving himself towards hell; with a pair of demons as his passengers. He could not blame the two of them at all. Even he was livid. But someone had to keep a cool head.
