Leon pulled up a chair and sat down "So let me start the story from the beginning..." Violet hadn't regained her memories but she did already feel more comfortable around him, Naomi was usually weird but remained mostly normal, and Selina had already adjusted to Leon as her Savior "First, I met Violet, when I arrived at a cave and saw her lying in the shadows, I gave her plenty of food and in return, she declared herself my wife for some reason, so I accepted, mostly because I really didn't have any reason to not and if she was tricking me I really wouldn't care because she wasn't anyone special to me."
Violet punched Leon in the arm and gave a pouting look at him when he looked over. Leon laughed and put his hand on her leg "Don't worry, this gets much more interesting. So after some time of her eating some food and me adjusting to her presence, I decided to make a piece of furniture, well, the only one I could make which is a bedroll."
"I left the cave to hunt a large animal and after finding a White Striker Bear, I lost and was about to be eaten when Naomi saved me and brought me to a town clinic." Naomi looked at him with a puzzled face, and Violet gasped as she heard the story "D-did you survive?!" Naomi and Leon both sighed and planted their faces into their hands "Yes, Violet, I survived, and when I woke up I explored the town and bought these modern clothes, then I left to go back to you in the cave."
"I found a hill to look around from and that's when Naomi showed up, she guided me while also following me, and even after I asked her to leave she still followed me." Naomi giggled and shifted a little, as Violet frowned at her "I found the bear and beat it and brought it back, that's when I found a cub and brought it back, its name was like... I forgot, but it's been living around here in the forest, I usually see Selina and Violet feeding it every day." Violet and Selina thought for a moment then simultaneously spoke "Oscar"
Leon waved it off and sighed "Yeah, you called him whatever you wanted, but Oscar was your usual choice, anyway, I returned with 'Oscar' and Naomi then Naomi explained her whole reason for accepting me or whatever, then the next day we went to go save Selina, that's the fun part." Selina leaned into the conversation now "So did you end up saving me?!"
Naomi and Leon repeated their action at the last dumb comment then Leon looked at her and pointed "Are you here now darling?" Selina looked at herself and laughed awkwardly "Anyway, we left to the city of Mosspoint, it was this cool town built into the side of the mountain, and when we got their Violet used her magic to bust us in and we all made our way to the dungeon where Selina was."
Naomi thought for a moment then interrupted him "How did you know to go to the dungeon? It seems like you didn't have any special tools." Leon thought then waved it off quickly "Oh, I had like some dream of something about me dying in the town and some dude told me where Selina was. I don't really remember all the details, but anyway-" Both Selina and Violet looked at him harshly and spoke, "D-did you die then?!"
Leon stomped his foot and yelled at them "No, I still didn't die dammit!" Violet turned away and muttered, "Jeez, no need to yell at us." Leon sighed and continued "Anyway, we found Selina and she was super tired and magically deprived like Violet was, so we rescued her and I ended up displacing the bones in my hand so I fixed it with some metal implants in my hand. Once I had fixed my hand, I met a past friend, Sam, he talked for a little while and a spooky guy came over saying 'he loved us or something' then the guy left and Sam went back to his Inn to get stronger."
Naomi and Violet both felt like he was skipping out on too many things to make the story reasonable but Selina was completely zoned in and listening with a wide smile on her face "So after all that another person showed up she was my... friend back in my old world, so I saw her but she ran off before I could say anything else to her." Naomi thought again then stopped him again "So if we had our memories stolen could it have been her?"
Leon looked down and thought "N-no, she probably ran far away and didn't come back." Violet and Selina both looked at him worriedly, but Leon sat straight up again and continued "So finally, I got Naomi to hire her builder friend and today she's gonna be coming soon to finish this lovely rough start of our base." Leon motioned around him and all the girls looked around the house-like interior, that's when a figure in a familiar cloak came out of the shadows and raised their hand, holding it towards Leon and the girls.
When Jenifer woke up, she had lost her connection to the girls' minds, but that might have been natural considering their minds had changed a lot after their initial state, so Jenifer set off from her campsite to see her work. She walked through the woods and dodged some trees as she walked, once she reached the entrance to the hideout, she pulled out Leon's ring and used it to get inside.
Once she was inside, she heard talking so she crouched and sneaked over to the corner and peered around the corner. Leon was sitting and explaining the story to the girls of what happened, Jenifer cursed quietly and tried making a connection to the girls' minds but none of them responded. Jenifer thought this must have been the same protection that Leon had on his mind, but she had made a slight connection but lost it immediately.
She sighed and prepared her magic to attack them, she prepared some mind control spells and some miss spells. She used most of her magic but she was confident that she could win so she walked out and pointed her hand at the group to take one of their minds. The spell fired and Violet was hit, Violet stood up and waited motionlessly for an order to appear. Jenifer smirked under her cloak and fired again, missing. Leon had seen Violet act strangely and stood up to fight back, as Selina and Naomi stood too.
Jenifer was too fast for the girls as she quickly took Naomi and Selina, one after another, then Leon pulled out his flintlock and fired at her, he hit her arm and Jenifer grabbed it out of pain "Release them from your control, and I'll let you live." Leon had his teeth gritted against each other and was angry, Jenifer smirked and readied another attack for Leon, as Leon charged her.
Leon moved to the side to dodge her attack but he was too close to dodge anymore and the attack hit him, he stumbled and stopped charging at her. He stood up and looked at himself, but nothing felt different, so he charged again. He swung a punch and Jenifer dodged it, he smiled and used his other hand to punch her again, it hit in the middle of her gut. Jenifer felts a breeze with Leon's blow and her hood blew off of her head and Leon paused.
Leon hesitated for a moment giving Jenifer enough time to push him away and back into the ground away from her. Leon stayed motionless and stared at Jenifer's face, Jenifer smirked again then spoke: "That's right, it was me who was messing with you the whole time, I was planning on taking you away from those girls because you're not supposed to be over me yet."
Leon looked down and spoke quietly "So it was you huh?" Jenifer flinched and looked at him "You were the one who dictated what I did for half a year and I followed along with it blindly. I thought of you as a good person but..." Leon stood up and looked at her with anger on his face "But your nothing but a fake of my girlfriend!" Leon felt something build inside him as his body filled with magic, he felt like he had an ascension and was now in heaven, he groaned a little and pushed through it as he stood straight up again and gritted his teeth.
Leon reached into his pocket and pulled out the cube, he quickly poured some of his excess magic into it and added a magic deterrent property to the cube and some more things that he needed for functionality. Then he activated it and turned it into a sword and readied himself to attack Jenifer...
